What if liberal women have abortions; What if conservative women are “fruitful, and multiply”? In one generation, what difference would this make?
What if homosexuals were no longer entering “sham” marriages with the opposite sex? How long would their gene pool survive?
Why is marriage limited to two individuals? What if a loving threesome wants to enjoy the benefits of marriage together, who are you to say otherwise? How about those who are deeply committed to their pet?
Do you find these questions disturbing? Why?

The first 4 frigets of the new US Navy (including USS Constitution) were financed and built to defend US interests against pirates. To the new country, USS Constitution cost more in relative dollars than an aircraft carrier would now. What has happend to the proud tradition of the US Navy? One of its leaders (Mullen) can only remark that he was “stunned” by the success of the pirates operation. Stunned? A country with a state of the art Navy, satilites, and great people like the SEALS, has a high admiral that is stunned? No, this is not a failior of hardware or our warriors. This is a failior of will. And, this will doom us if we don’t stop it now.

WTF? What on earth do you think the first amendment says? It has to do with CONGRESS NOT PASSING LAWS. It has nothing to do with individual people talking.

35 years of interplanetary unmanned space probes have now shown an inconvienent truth: The whole Solar System is warming up. Now, if it is unlikely that there are SUVs on Jupiter, then a more logical explanation is that the Sun is doing it. We know the Sun has 11 year cycles. However, we do not have much data on Solar cyles that might last hundreds of thousands of years. We also don’t understand the changes that occur as the Sun travels around the Orion rim of the Milky Way Galaxy. In any case, this makes the whole discussion more complex, and more interesting. It throws water on the “human only” explanaiton for global warming.

Yeah, I might get that if it was enforced consistently. No one cares if you put an anti-Christian sticker on your bumper. But even at that, free speech is what it is, like it or not. Just look at all the people standing up for free speech when it comes to porn on the web or offensive “art”. The man is entitled to his feelings and his opinion. It’s a bumper sticket, get over it.

I feel sorry for the guy, but a military base has rules for a reason.

The commander’s decision is quite reasonably related to maintaining good order and morale on the base, and not just among the many Marines who are Muslims. Stirring up hatred against a religion is contrary to maintaining good discipline. And a war fought in heavily populated area especially needs the strongest discipline for success.

Like I said, I feel sorry for the veteran but if he can’t see the problem, he’s probably got a problem. Serving combat tours in Vietnam and losing his son in a that shocking mass murder may well have given him shell shock or, as they call it today, PTSD. Let’s have compassion for him, and get him help. He’s not alone.
