R22 air conditioner still works

This old a/c still works but the coil inside the house has a leak. The cost to fill the a/c plus the cost of a coil might be too high and a replacement system should be considered. They do not make R22 so the price has gone way up. If you spend a lot on a coil and the ac goes out you can not use that coil on the new refrigerant ac, money wasted. Choose wisely. Furnace blowing cold air resolved

Aaac service heating and air received a call for no heat 1/29/26. The furnace was blowing cool air. It was heating earlier but stopped. There is a code flashing on the circuit board. It can be seen through the sight window. The label on the door say 33 lockout. The furnace main limit has tripped due to excess heat. It turns on the blower and the flames off. Do not reset the furnace before fixing the issue. The fan motor was spinning too slow allowing to much heat to remain in the furnace. The capacitor tested 3.8 but should be 7.5. This is not the only thing that will cause a lockout, today it was the issue. The motor was tested and is good. After replacing the cap the issue was solved. Check for a dirty filter and/or closed vents. These can put a strain on the motor and capacitor. You must put the right size capacitor back in. If you don't know the size it is on the label of the motor. This was repaired within 1 hour of the initial call. This furnace repair was near me Locust Grove.

Does this old furnace have to go.

The furnace is 35 years old and needs a circuit board that’s no longer made. The replacement board requires extra parts to make it compatible, with repairs estimated at over $500. On the plus side, the heat exchanger is still in good shape. On the downside, the draft motor and blower motor are also 35 years old. Aaac Service Heating and Air recommended replacing it, but since we’re not a high-pressure sales business, we provided a repair quote as well. The furnace was repaired, and hopefully it will serve them well for a long time, though the old parts aren’t covered in any way.

The furnace ran for 5 minutes but will shut off before reaching the temperature on the thermostat.

You should turn it off and call for service. This could cause other parts to break. The main limit is telling the furnace to shut off due to high heat. The limit could be bad or it's doing its job and it's a bad gas valve or an air flow issue. Aaac service heating and air repaired this on Saturday.

This furnace in McDonough would only blow cold air. It seemed like it would try to run but never get to the flames. It tried 3 times then just blows cold air. The sensor was showing no flame so the furnace will purge and just blow air. The system is doing what it is designed to do when the flames do not come on. The ignitor was replaced, and it works great now. Aaac service heating and air has same day service in Henry County.

Furnace repair in Mcdonough

This a/c was on outside. There was no air flow. Was it a bad blower? Was there ice blocking the air. Did the duct come loose? Maybe it was a bad capacitor. Was the contactor stuck on?

The ice was on the system bad but not the cause this time. The thermostat was calling for a/c and contactor was good. The capacitor and motor checked out as good. This time the circuit board was not telling the blower to come on. We had one on the truck. This 24 year old air conditioner is working. Problem resolved fast.

The blower motor was not working. Well, this furnace is 38 years old with the original motor. We recommended a new furnace, but it was not in the homeowner's budget. Today during a residential service call in McDonough, we found what looked like a heat pump system with low Freon. After checking the air flow, it was determined that the coil was blocked. It was the worst we ever saw. The renter had put a tee shirt down the return. There was never a filter. The coil had dog hair and poo clogging it. Most of this was done on purpose. A clogged coil can block the air flow and freeze the lines. This is the same outcome a unit low on refrigerant has. You will have no cool air and the black line going into the a/c will be frozen. The ice you can't see is the problem. It was a solid block of ice in the air handler under the house. You can damage the blower motor so turn it off if you see ice. The sensors in this furnace turned it off and turned the blower to purge. This requires a technician. It is no easy fix. The roll out here tripped. This is not a bad switch. It saved the furnace. The flame was not going into the exchanger but was still touching the flame sensor. This is bad. The technician (me) cleared the tube. Cleaned the sensor and cleaned pressure switch. Customer said the inside is on but the a/c outside is not running. I told them to check breakers. It was on at breaker. I told them to turn it off until a technician can get there. I was able to get there in 45 minutes on a Saturday. I found the wires was melted on the capacitor. The capacitor was melted at the top. Do not touch this. Aaac service had the correct size on the truck. It was running within 1hr from initial call.
