While checking the stats on the number of fans, it seems(blog) that they are having a problem with the counter or someone hacked the site. Some are getting above 100 000 when they seemed to have 70 000 a few hours before.

But  the fact is that do have more than 50 000 fans in just  a few weeks. They also going to have 2 events in the coming months.

La marche Bleu, on October 2,  is a march to manifest their support for the return of NHL team in Quebec City and tell politician this is a good time to get the new arena. They have a report that was not made public but looking good for a new arena since Quebec city could be a contender to have the Olympics thus a modern arena will be a must anyway.

The second is an "invasion" of the Nordiques Nation fans(8+ bus)  in Islander Country to see a Trashers(Atlanta) match on December 11 in New-York.  Like Scott emailed, it's not well received by Islander Country fans. Of course, if they seemed threaten by a possible move of either team, it could be their chance to show fans support to their current owners that they want to keep their teams in their cities.

One of the file management and FTP software I use daily is PowerDesk 8, I mentioned it in a previous post and I recently,last month(more later), I upgraded to version 8. If you don't know, I have bee using it since version 4 came out.

The upgrade

When I upgraded from 7 to 8, I was in the few unlucky ones where the FTP part did not work properly for me. So, I was hesitant to recommend to current users to do an upgrade.

But with the recent update(not upgrade), all was fixed for me and the FTP is now working correctly on pre-8 FTP account I had created.

The trouble was the addition of a new safe FTP feature in version 8. I was not able to use my older FTP account created under version 7.  New FTP account created with 8 worked great but to use an older account, I had to deleted it and recreate it. It was because there were no option to change the FTP mode of the previous FTP account.

It was a pain at first since I have 200+ domain to maintain. So, when I needed to FTP files to a domain, I had to take more steps. I was lucky in a sense since many were not going to be renewed in the coming weeks. Plus, all new domains were created under version 8.

FTP

Despite of this minor snafu, it's great to have my file manager and FTP in the same software because I can drag and drop my files generated by MyStarterBlog. With PowerDesk, I have 2 panes: 1 for the site on my computer(Top) and 1 for the FTP account for the domain(Bottom). The left is the tree directory.

Other features

Of course PowerDesk is not just that. It's a File Viewer, Sync Manager, Size manager, Archive Manager ...

So, it does a lot more like you can read.

Conclusion

Bad things happens and it's up to the user to tell companies that something went wrong or not working. So, I did(emailed them) plus suggested other features that could be great to have later on.

One cool thing is that when you upgrade, you will have a better discount in the future. Even without the coupon code LABOR35, I still recommend that you buy or at least consider using PowerDesk 8 for your file/FTP management. It's getting better and better each versions!

Another day, another "limited copies" offer but from Traffic Anarchy this time around. Is Traffic Anarchy a scam or just misleading customers? So, again  I have done some research and for once, it's not a scam but I do have some mixed feelings about it.

I want to make it clear that I did not buy Traffic Anarchy and don't intent too.  I however did  some researched to see what was the "product" beforehand.

About my mixed feeling first

Why I did not buy it? Because of the claims of only 350 copies. Now, I always have a doubt but it seems it's the "new sales pitch" in Internet Marketing world this days and it has to stop now.

Now, I did not find a "contest" for affiliates but I was hit by 2-3 emails at the exact hour it was launched. This is not a good sign and that's why I have some reservation about the limited copies mentioned on the salespage but...

The Traffic Anarchy product

Traffic Anarchy is a basic software solution that will let you submit your site to many places(RSS feed, Social bookmark, Press Release, Articles directories) to get backlinks and traffic. For a new person in IM with a limited budget, I don't mind recommending Traffic Anarchy.

The software just submit to a limited number of places thus the impact will be lesser. However, it's good that's it not the small sites but the major ones for each categories.

Conclusion

Later when you have the money or if you have it now, I would suggest you get bigger tools(BMD for social bookmark) to get more backlinks. Yes, I own it and use it everyday of the week like other tools. For me, BMD is a must have in my chest of  tools.

But if you don't have much money for tools and want to try your hand at IM basics, Traffic Anarchy is a good option for you since it's an all in one software and will show you the basics of getting backlinks from different sources. It's better than doing it by hand in a semi-automatic way(like entering captchas).

Again, it's mostly the 350 copies that I'm not liking on the salespage of Traffic Anarchy.

A few days ago,  a local RadioX station started a new fan club: NordiquesNation.com. Their goal, which is not btw a radio stunt,   is to get old and new Nordiques Fans together again to demonstrate that they do want a NHL team back in Quebec City. Now, the "puck" is in their camp since RadioX just build the site to for the fans and later by the fans.

In only a few days, they already have 20,000+ fans from all over who sign up. I was not surprise since Quebec City is a hockey city and many long for the old days of the Montreal's Canadian and Quebec City's Nordiques rivality.

Even I, who is not into watching hockey, would watch those match. Like I mentioned, I'm not a hardcore hockey fan but I like to tease people that are Canadian's fan. when I had the chance. Even none hockey fans were "forced"  to hear news about the team result's on the sport news cast.

The arena

The biggest hurdle is that Quebec City needs a new multifunction arena. That arena would allow many shows/events to take place in Quebec City but right now, the current arena is not up to date. This in turn, don't allow some major shows/events to take place  in Quebec City because of this.

Show me the money

Also, most Quebec City residents don't want to foot the whole bill. The diverse level of government did pledge(elections promises) to help since it could fall in the many infrastructure investment to combat the current world economy slowdown.

But most would agree that a private investor would be better. Add the cost of the team itself, and you are talking about 100s of millions of investment with 400 for the area alone. Like my readers know, I'm more business centric so I do agree that the government should be taken out of the picture for the most part.

Personally, I don't want a big private investor come here like a white shining knight and ask for financial help in a few years from now because of bad planning.  It's a risk but a risk that tax payers don't want to be responsible later on. It most be viable by itself.

For that, I'm not opposed that the investor add a casino in the future arena. That's were the government could help while not having to invest but just allowing it in a joint venture deal. They already permitted a Lottery for Quebec City so why not a casino too?

Taking care of gamblers

Of course, some will whine because of the casino part if the investor do add it. I'm not without empathy for people with gambling problems. But I do believe in personal responsibility.

Besides, I'm sure they would be more positives than negatives for the whole Quebec city. Heck, the investor could just give 1% of the profit(tax deduction anyway )   to help  gamblers that do need help.

After 15 years, Nordiques  items  are still at auctions and available for fans/collectors like you can see below. Imagine having a new team  back. the auction would have to be separated into new and old Nordiques items.

Yes! Auto Traffic Avalanche scam and a big lie. It is the second product launch where the claims of limited copies make's Auto Traffic Avalanche like a special limited offer. As soon I saw the "limited copies", I did not fall for it. I waited for others to review it(not fake one's).

To make matters worst, it's using an unethical script that would violate the TOS of Plenty Of Fish/Facebook thus causing the page owner to be possible banned from Facebook. That's according to buyer's who did buy the product but demanded a refund after that.

The salespage also mentioned it will take 13 clicks but it's even more work than that. Add the fact that you will pay for FB advertising.  Plus, they also offer too many upsells(5) and are doing a contest for the affiliates. Why? there are only 234 "copies" available.

Btw, it's the same guy in the Tweetomatic Profiteer product video from the IM that I warned you about a few post before.  I was sure I had seen it somewhere.

To be fair, a few rare one's did like a few parts of the Auto Traffic Avalanche and even them found that it was a short term to make money until Facebook banned them. For some, it's okay to take a risk but those of us for the long run, we will stay away.

It's another buyer beware but I hate those misleading tactics(limited copies) by big Internet Marketers. I know,  I only reviewed the salepage myself and let others review it. It's up to you to decide if  Auto Traffic Avalanche is a short term solution for you. Good luck anyway if you. do.

Yes, it's nice to have another popular McGrath. I was watching the show Merlin a few years back when I saw that one of the actrices was named Katie McGrath. She is a beautiful young lady plus, of course, a McGrath.

Just for fun, I wanted to know the McGrath searches being done on Google and found that her name was #1. At first I did not remember her name so I used Google and saw that she was indeed in the show Merlin. Yes, AutoBlogSystemX scam and a big lie and most Internet Marketers are promoting this with no minimum of personal ethics. But how can I say that since I did not buy it?

Before I start, I'm not reviewing the product but the ethics behind it. Of course, AutoBlogSystemX will tell big possible monthly numbers to attract buyers with yet another magic bullet formula. That's a given in Internet Marketing since that's what attracts those that don't know better. I'm not saying it's not possible either.

The AutoBlogSystemX Scam

Here is what irritated me the most when I had a chance to promote it. I was myself  about to buy it to review/promote it when on the affiliate blog, Rob Benwell(blogging to the bank) mentioned big names Internet Marketers were about to promote it too. But why would they waste their time when only 250 copies were supposed to be available? They would be lucky to sell 5 each.

Also, Rob Benwell was doing a competition for $24,000 for the affiliates. If you multiply 250 x $37(no commission), you get $9,250. You will say that it make no sense but you forgot the upsells that will bring the real money for them and compensate for the affiliate payout/contest.

So far, it's not my main irritation. By mentioning  only 250 copies, it makes the products sound exclusive and an urgency not to wait to buy it for the potential buyers. That's where it's a scam and big lie!

Yes, on the affiliate blog on August 10, Rob Benwell mentioned that 3,000 units were already sold. On the salespages, they mentioned that 120,000 will be invited but only 0.2% will be able to access it.  On August 11, they even mentioned that they are  "on track to hit 20,000 units." That's the big lie/scam since only 250 copies were supposed to get sold.

Some will say: That's marketing!

I'm not stupid but why just says it's a limited time offer and can be pulled anytime. This would had work and might offer a more ethical way to sell that product.

Poor Service

Also, Rob Benwell has another bigger problem now: Poor service for past products he sold. I did buy Rob Benwell(blogging to the bank product) a few years back and got great service then. But not anymore.

You see, I bought another product(Premium Blog) that he launched in July and I never got it. Since I like to give a chance to the runner, I even did preview for my readers in case some of them wanted to take the risk like me(thankfully no one did). I was upfront too that I did not got it. Here is how it went:

On July 18, I bought the Premium Blog and the salespage mentioned a 48hours delivery.

On July 21, I email sales@bloggingtothebank.com about it but never got a
response.

On July 26, I opened a ticket about it on their site. They answered claiming
technical troubles with the servers and gave me this email
blogsetup@bloggingtothebank.com to inquire about it. I got BTTB 2010 to read for my trouble.

On July 28, I emailed them about my Premium Blog since I wanted to gave them time  to deal with the server.

On August 9, since I never got any response, I email them again giving them
24hours deadline or I would ask for a refund. I gave them 48hours.

On August 11, I asked and got a refund(August 12) from ClickBank.

Seeing this, how can his team be able to handle AutoBlogSystemX upsells when they can't even offer proper support for the Premium Blog offer made just a few weeks earlier?

Conclusion

I decided to not buy any product from Rob Benwell(blogging to the bank) from now on because of the above things. Of course, no one can say never but something has to change in his business service and ethics.

Who would like this kind of return for a $24.95 investment?   Me!  Me!  Me! Everyday, I get this kind of offers and depending on how I'm feeling, if I got the time and the source of the email, I often dismissed them out of hand or look at it very quickly. But not this one and here is why.

You see I was just about to even unsubscribed from this Internet Marketer list  because I taught he was overdoing it too much in my opinion in the last few weeks.

To be fare, I bought a good product from him in the past but taught he was promoting too much things at the same time. The error was mine, I admit, because those products were mostly from him. He is a busy guy.

Good timing

The timing was also good because I was hit hard in the last few months by Google(like many IMers) and was looking to diversify more my sources of revenue. So that offer came at the right time for me.

Autopilot?

All The Set-Up, Writing, Selling, Hosting Taken Care Of By A Million Dollar Blogging Team

Like you can read above,  they will create a blog for you with writing, set-up, hosting, selling, ...managed it for you.

Of course, I can imagine that I will have to do some work like promoting it on my side which is fine. I don't mind that.

Show me the money!

They also used examples(intro above) of making a boat load of money which could be true ... eventually.  But my expectations is more around $100/month for that Premium blog for the first few months.  Sure, if I do get $1000+ on my first week, I will not complain one minute.

On the sales page, they don't mentioned that it's a monthly investment of $24.95  and I only saw it after the purchase was done and printed my invoices. It's my partly fault but would had like to know it more upfront. But, you can deduce it because of the things they will do for you on your blog each month.

But, if I do make $100/month but it cost me $24.95/month I will make $75/month in profits from that site. Not bad if you ask me and a pretty good investment when/if it will be $200, $500, $1000+ ... per month

But here is the deal ... so far

I did not have my blog yet and it's been more than a week that I ordered it and they mentioned a 24 hour delay. Did I get scammed?

No because: I'm patient and you need patience to do Internet Marketing anyway.

I also sent an email 72 hours later but did not get a response. I finally opened a support ticket(bottom of the sales  page). They replied the same day that had servers issues thus the delay with my blog. I bet they are overwhelmed by the demand of such a deal. :p

I did not want a refund since I still think this could be a good source of revenues but time will tell if I'm wrong or not. Btw, that's what we call taking action!

I can also canceled later on if I don't even meet a minimum of return on my investment of $24.95/month.

Conclusion

Yes, I wanted to give you a real review first. But, I had dilemma that by the time you read my review, this offer might not be available anymore or the door would closed for them to be able to catch up on the current orders and would reopens months later if they do.

Yes, I'm taking also a chance and by presenting you this opportunity now, I'm giving you the chance to take a leap of faith with me.

Yes, some will not take it and its' their choice but...

That's what Internet Marketing is about: You take action in the hope of making money from a site, if not you just learned something new for the next one. That's business!

Heck, just go watch the video and make up your own mind. I did my choice and will make a review in the future if it did worked or not.

Those of you that will take action now will either sunk $50-75(stay 2-3 months minimum) like me or be richer beyond their expectations if very lucky on the first month. But, just don't expect miracles on the first month but cross you fingers that it works ; ).

The sales page was good enough that I bought CB Wealth Formula to make a review of it. Besides, the price was within what I was prepare to pay for that famous next "magic bullet" on auto-pilot. Yeah right!

Don't get me wrong, it was not the claims of making a huge amount of money monthly like most courses do but the modules about generating traffic that intrigue me the most. I had already reviewed one solution that is working good for me so adding another one made cents ... oops sense.

Upsell

They will also try to upsell you with limited offer but I did not take them. I just wanted the base course fro my review anyway. Of course, you can always buy them if you want and I almost did but declined the offers.

The CB is for Clickbank but it can be used with other affiliate networks. It's the same basic methods being used for them too. I did learned a few things about getting the best offers out of Clickbank.

I expected to read a lot but instead, the course is made of 53 short videos(2 to 25 minutes) in a Powerpoint style video. I can say that it makes the value and information of the course worth it just for that.

Of course, I knew many things but I still learned a few new things/tips also. Some of it are things that I did not put into action yet and knew I should had: My bad .

I started with module 1-6 and like I mentioned before, I learned a few things while viewing it and others ways to do things. The bonus #3 was not available so I decided to skip ahead and to start watching the 10 videos of module 9. Yes, I watched the others too after.

Relying Too Much On Google?

But after watching the videos, I started to use that methods because you can't rely on Google only traffic. I which I could but I learned it the hard way in the last 2-3 months. My traffic was rising and then ... it dropped like a shoe out of the window and so as my revenues.

So, having other sources of traffic is key to make money online and you learn how. Diversification of income and now.... traffic are what I do. I won't say bye bye to Google but I find other ways so not to rely too much on Google.

Conclusion

So for me, I think it's a great way for newbies to learn about Internet Marketing thus I recommend CB Wealth Formula not for it's claims but for the knowledge it gives you. Heck, I did learn from it myself.

To get spiders come to your site or blog, you need to tell them that you updated your site. That's why having an updated ping list is a good thing.

I already had an old list but with too many dead ping servers. So I went online and found many older lists(thanks) or older post about that subject. The reasons I wanted a new list was for 3 reasons:

1. MyStarterBlog

I wanted to had a ping function in a theme for MyStarterBlog(my own software). I created a new batch of small MSB sites to make money online from them since I'm doing Internet Marketing. Plus,  I don't use WP for the reasons I don't want to be bothered with the whole security/MySQL issues that gave me problems in the past. It's set and forget for those make money sites.

That's why I generate my sites using MSB because it creates a flat file blog/site. I need to upload to site with every change. In this case, my money 3 pages blog/site took about 100KB. For 1 installation of a WP blog, I can have 40+ MSB sites thus taking less space or resource on my hosting account.  I don't need a MySQl database either. The themes are SEO optimize, RSS ready, sitemap... but was missing the ping feature until now.

So, I found some php code to ping my sites made with MSB. I modified a few lines at the start for MSB and it was simple.

1. Download the code/ping list(173 ping servers, zip format, 2.9KB) to your MSB theme directory. You should change the default file names for your own needs.

2. Generate or regenerate the MSB blog/site.

3. Upload the updated new files

4. To ping,  just do that in your browser:

http://mywhateversite.com/ping.php or new name of the php file

Voila! It's done.

My goal was to be able to use the current MSB version and be optional for users. So, if you don't want this ping list for MSB, just use the list for ....

2. BMD

In BMD(a must for bloggers in my opinion), you can promote your new blog post or site to social bookmarking sites. It has a feature to ping your account page on those social bookmaking sites. This way your post will then be crawled.

One cool feature is that it also let me test each of them(active or not) and find duplicate. Those 173 ping servers were active when I created my list. I had 350+ at the start from copying lists. It took me some time or should I say BMD to check them out.

3. WordPress

As I'm writing this, I still using WP to write on this blog. So, I wanted to update that ping list too.

I may in the future convert my blog to MSB like I did with another blog that I did not allow comments (no enough time to respond/too much spam). I'm glad I did that since it make me passive money even if I don't update it often this days.

However, I might just keep WP here since MSB is mostly for secondary/no comment allowed blogs or make money sites(set and forget) for me.

Btw, when a ping server is still live, it make it faster to ping  in BMD or MyStarterBlog and WP.
