Don't Brush Aside This Review: Chic Cosmetics Synthetic Kabuki Brush Set

Hey guys!! If you ask if what is the secret to their flawless makeup, almost every makeup enthusiast that you have or will encounter will always have the say the same thing... The key to a woman's flawless makeup is the application itself. In my personal opinion I prefer a flawless canvass with minimal eye and lip makeup than the other way around. One of my best friend's biggest insecurity is her skin, if we go out to hang, she always go all out with her base but in result her every opening statement in our conversations is "Am I Caking?!" LOL! Yep... Caking, streaking, smearing and even decomposing are our terms for faulty makeup. I'm not being a Pontious Pilate here okay? Once upon a time I also believed in the "The pricier is always better" mentality and boy how I was wrong.

I was once so enamored by that mentality that I bought one of the priciest foundations I ever had, the "Silk Creme" ones. But the thing was I spent all of my money on that single foundation and completely forgotten about the application that I ended up getting the very crappy makeup brush sets at the drugstore, so long story short I ended up not enjoying it as much as I would like it to be.

Yes, I learned my lesson when my Ate came home from Canada. She brought home a lot of high end makeup brushes and my makeup base application was smooth sailing back then. When my Ate went back to Canada, I started investing in more higher quality brushes but I wasn't completely in to it because of my Beauty Blender but it was until Chic Cosmetics, an online shop where I get affordable cosmetics close to their actual price, came out with the 5 pc Synthetic Kabuki Brush Set and my B.I friend Celline raved about it so much that I added it to my wish list.

I normally prefer a brush handle that has an even weight with the brush head when you balance it out horizontally with one or two fingers or even slightly heavier than the brush head because in my experience when I work with brushes with a lighter handle I find it hard to control the overall movement of the brush so in result I get uneven base. That's why I'm really happy that the Chic Brushes are super sturdy and when I tried it on my best friend it was super easy to work with added to the fact that she miraculously didn't cake the whole day.

See how dense they are? But you won't have to worry about blotchy application, see the lighter bristles? they are a little bit thinner and a little bit less dense so that you can control the amount of product you are applying to achieve that airbrush effect. I have deep washed these a couple of times, and of course there will be some shedding, it's pretty normal for every brush to shed on their first wash because of the residual bristles or the extra bristles that were stuck on glue residue, the issue here is the amount of bristle that shed. After the first wash, I literally counted the bristles that shed and it's close to none so that's a big plus for me.

The set includes the following: Angled Kabuki, Round Kabuki, Tapered Kabuki, Flat Top Kabuki and Flat Angled Kabuki. These can be used according to your preference but they also have their particular use also... I will do my foundation routine using these brushes soon :D

Angled Kabuki

I think I have an obsession with these kind of brushes since I have more of this kind than any other brushes I own, used and unused. This is often used for blush or contouring. The size of the angle itself is a very easy guide on the width on where you need to apply bronzer without looking like a hobo. See how the white part look a little less dense? It is so that you get a little less but an even amount of product especially for highly pigmented products. Dome shaped brushes are often used for light application so it's perfect for powder products.

I give Angled Kabuki a 4.4 / 5. It's actually really good and I really like it but I don't love it, maybe because I'm not the biggest blush wearer. But it works really well and I highly recommend it for those who are looking for a great blush brush.

Round Kabuki

Out of all the brushes, this is my favorite one. I normally use this to apply powder on the parts where it needs major blotting aka the t-zone. It's small/packed that it really goes through every crease of your face like the sides of your nose that normal powder brushes just skim though also it is super dense that you can apply a fuller coverage powder without caking because you can also use this as a buffing brush to erase or blend out harsh edges or thin them down.

I give Round Kabuki a 5 / 5. As I've said, this is my favorite brush among this set and maybe out of all my brushes. It works really really well to keep oil away from my skin which is nice especially during summer

Tapered Kabuki

This is used for a "magnified" base application. I find it to be most useful when applying liquid foundation to achieve a flawless look. What I like to do is after I apply my foundation using my flat top kabuki, I use this to apply to the creases that normal foundation brushes normally can't reach. This way you have an even base on your face even if you have acne scarring, fine lines and the smile wrinkle thingy and that's not the dimples.

I give Tapered Kabuki a 4.2 / 5. This is perfect for magnified makeup and for those who have acne scars and wrinkles. It will make your skin look good even on HD videos

Flat Top Kabuki

This is one of my favorites as well. This is used for base application for that airbrush effect made easier especially if you are like me who is not the most patient when it comes to stippling brushes. I feel that they're basically the same but I find this easier to use and this can help foundation to be more buildable without looking too thick, cakey or streaky since you use it with dabbing motions.

I give Flat Top Kabuki a 5 / 5. This is best if you are on the run but still want to do a little bit of base makeup and don't have the time for stippling. I love that this gives a flawless finish.

Flat Angled Kabuki

It's obviously the combination of the flat top kabuki and the angled kabuki. This is perfect for the application of cream blushes or you want prominent contouring. Best used in shoots since it gives more color payoff. But basically it's a back up if you don't want to stain your flat top kabuki with cream blush.

I give Flat Angled Kabuki a 4 / 5. I honestly think that this is a meh in this set. the other ones can do what this does I think it is better if a fluffy brush take its place instead. Not hating or anything

Overall, I highly recommend this set... I tried my hardest not to say this but it's true, they are indeed great Sigma dupes. If you want the affordable but high quality face brushes, I believe that this is one of the best out there. Halalan 2013: Will you be a part of it?

Hey guys!! The other day, our barangay officials came to our house to hand the precinct number of the people who are able to vote that live in our address and to my surprise I was one of them. No, I'm not saying that I feel too young to be able to vote but the thing is I registered as a voter immediately after I turned 18 three years ago and up until now I still do not own a voter's ID. Between that three years I always call to follow up but I always get the same answer... "You're ID is still not available because the machine is still not fixed." So the moment I received my sample ballot, I started to think...

Oh My Freakin' Gee!! THREE YEARS?! You were able to construct a new and more comfortable City Hall and you don't have freakin' budget to fix a simple machine!! No I'm not doing this post just to complain about me not having another valid id but all the things that the government delay just to make way of their personal gain.

The most common one is the garbage disposal system. At our place, the schedule is every Tuesday and Friday, yes the waste still gets picked up on Tuesdays and Fridays BUT that is every other week! When someone complains... the reason? "The truck is BROKEN." We all have the right to complain about this since this is not a privilege, it is a right. Garbage Disposal Fees are included on the yearly Real Estate Tax. Then, why is there no funds again?

Crime is waiting outside your doorstep! There is no safe place anywhere. If you remember my post more than a year ago, I was robbed in broad daylight. I was looked out for, FOR DAYS, by a suspicious man and no one even cared to ask why is he there! After the incident, I haven't heard anything from the police.

SO THAT'S PRETTY MUCH 2/3 of THEIR TERM... THEN COMES THE LAST QUARTER:

Every funeral is like a class they have to attend to. I noticed this when I was in 5th grade when my Lolo died, it was election season and his funeral was FLOODED with flowers from every politician. Three years later my Lola died, election season as well, the same thing happened. Every night is like a Meeting de Avance where they shake their hands with ALL the people in the funeral, I bet they don't have any idea who the relatives are! But after they are elected, POOF! wapakels, see you after oh I don't know, the last quarter of my term!!

Next is the EPAL-POLITICS, during every last quarter or their term, every streets will be loaded with Christmas Greetings, Congratulatory Messages, Project By tarps and many more. Instead of spending funds for pictorials and tarp printing why not, oh I don't know add it to the funds of other projects?

ELECTION SEASON: WHERE PROMISES ARE MADE and TALKING TO ONESELF IS MOST PRACTICED

It's almost summer why so much relief goods? Where were those during the rainy season? Oh I remember! It's election season! I live near the place where politicians normally go to do their thing. And I have lots of friends in those places too and what they tell me makes me sick. This season, the smokers were given packs of cigarettes, the drunk were given 2 bottles of Emperador Light each and the gamblers were given 200 pesos each. Way to make a difference bro!

During speeches being the voice of the poor is always the promise of every politician. To be honest when friends tell me when they ask for help when they're in need no one actually faces them. They are always rescheduled. Also one thing, when I commute from school to our house, I pass by the "mansion" of a celebrity/politician clan and I always... ALWAYS see Badjaos outside their high wall asking money from every single public utility vehicle that passes by. Don't tell me they don't notice them... PLEASE!

Political dynasty is a very chronic problem in the Philippines, what is it about politics that every member of the family should be in it?? You want to help?? Is this what it is? Uhmm.. Why not establish a foundation? Their kids or grand kids or great grand kids always half-mindedly say these words "I will continue my achuchuchu's legacy." Uhm what legacy?! You're like still sucking your thumb while they're on their position, what do you know?

And there are those hypocrites that fight against a certain vice because they didn't succeed on their attempt. Uhm.. You know most people aren't as gullible as you think anymore.

As for local government, this is what I'm most irritated about. They always say that you should vote for them coz they were born and raised in your city. But every morning, I always get caught by the "BATAK SYSTEM" aka a version of Wang Wang System where the politician will go to town hall from his house or condo on his exclusive village in Manila and all the vehicles in opposing roads will be stopped for freakin' hours until he passes by. Just wow.

As I've said on my instagram post, If you have the opportunity to vote please do. Please do not pass up the opportunity to vote for the people with credentials not with a familiar surname or a pretty face... Please remember that they will be serving our country for SIX YEARS! And as for re-electionists, especially for the local government, please look at the things they have done during their whole term, not the last quarter of it.

To be honest I'm getting tired of the people who complain about their life is so miserable and blame the government for it, but when it's election day they vote for the ones who bribed them. Well what the hell is that? That was your first signal! If they were able to break rules just to win, what gave you the impression that they won't do it once they are elected?

Please remember, CHANGE STARTS WITH EACH VOTE, if someone votes for those who were obviously bad choices to begin with and we end up with another crappy six years don't ever blame it on anyone, all the tell tells have been there they just don't care enough to vote wisely.

Mani Monday: Textured Spring Scenery Nails

Hey guys!! Have you seen my Instagram post yesterday? Yep, this is what I've been doing then... LOL! I've been thinking of spring/summer-themed Mani Monday recently but I thought that you guys might be getting sick of all the flower drawings all over the nails. Then I realized, why not spice it up? Yes it will still be about flowers but the combination of colors will make it relaxing to the eyes but at the same time gives a pop of color... So without further blabbering, let's get started!

1. Start of with a base coat and paint all your nails a light shade of blue.

This will be the sky of our spring scene. Blue gives that relaxing feel to it plus it usually compliments lots of skin tones.

2. Stripe white isosceles triangles on the tip of your nails

Using a striper or a toothpick dipped into white polish, drag it downward from a quarter or so. This will be the base of the grass.

3. Stick tiny flattened flowers

It comes in a whole circle with tiny flowers.. Snip them until it fits your nails. To stick them on your nails, you can either use nail art glue or top coat.

Add bigger but still tiny flowers over the tinier flowers to give it more texture and give the look more layers.

4. Paint over the grass.

Using the striper or toothpick paint over the white grass with a bright green. See how the green pops more? You can actually end here but if you want more texture....

5. Apply flocking powder

Flocking powder makes your nails feel velvety, to put it more simple, think felt paper... To apply it, I don't recommend dipping your nails directly to the powder, it will just make it uneven an clumpy. All you need to do is using tweezers, pinch a clump of powder from the container then dab it over the freshly painted nails.

I Just Dyed A Little Bit: Pantene Color and Perm Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Hey guys!!! As part of my "Project Hair" hair color is a huge part of it. I usually have black to dark brown hair color only because of my course, but since it's summer vacation, I decided to dye my hair a wine red shade. I was reminded to not use harsh products like anti-dandruff shampoos, even though it does help in freshening up, it will cause more damage and will stiffen the hair especially if it's chemically treated. Hair color doesn't normally last a long time on me it's either it will look dirty brown when blonde, dark brown when light brown or rust color when red. But recently I came across a new line from Pantene when I was looking for a new shampoo since I ran out of my other favorite shampoo. So is it effective? See what I think after the jump.

Pantene Color and Perm Lasting Care Shampoo

I first encountered the product, except for commercials, at the BDJ Box Beauty Social a couple of weeks ago and tried out the shampoo for a couple of uses. Normally when I use shampoo, color is getting rinsed along with it. But when I tried this out there was no fading which normally takes place on the first few washes.

Another thing that I like about it is its cap. I like this one better than the ones that are pushed because shampoo tends to dry out the productt and the remaining gets stuck inside. Another thing is the lather... I'm into bath products that lathers well, they add that squeaky clean feeling to the fact that you are taking a bath.

Pantene Color and Perm Lasting Care Conditioner

The launch of the conditioner followed a couple of weeks after the shampoo so I took my time in finding the conditioner in every accessible stores. Good thing I found them at SnR so as everyone expects, I panic bought. LOL

The other thing that I loved about this conditioner is the packaging. I really love the piping thing~y that makes me enjoy applying conditioner even more. In result, my shampoo-conditioner ratio is poorly executed. kekeke

See? See?! The piping makes the conditioner look like choux cream kekeke... FOOOD (-.-)... In comparison the shampoo is slightly runnier than other shampoos but still...

The first picture was 4-5 days after coloring my hair and 3 days since I started using the Color and Perm Variant. The second one is my productive day yesterday afternoon kekekeke...

I give Pantene Color and Perm Shampoo and Conditioner a 4.8 / 5. I'm in love with this pair! I would have given it a 5/5 only if it came out with sachets with both shampoo and conditioner, as of today I only see the shampoo in stores. I love how it makes my hair manageable everyday in addition to taking care of my hair color!

You Jelly?: Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-Talk Review

Hey guys!! This is the start of the highly requested collection review of the spring collection 2013 of Etude House, the Sweet Recipe Collection. I started out the collection review with the Ice Cream Nails Review a couple of weeks back so please don't hate if I will be talking about a lot of Etude products a few days from now kekeke... So without any further blabbering, let's get started!!

Ever since Etude House came up with the Dear My Collection, the packaging of their lipsticks are getting better and better. Sturdier, being more theme-based than usual and as girly as ever.

Talking about theme-based, the band of the Sweet Recipe Collection looks like dew-like beads and colored based on the shade inside.

It has an ok amount of product, pretty similar to all EH lipsticks, Their bullets also have the standard Etude House logo engraved to each one.

Here are the collective swatches of the "main" shades of the jelly lipsticks...

JPK002, JBE101 and JOR203.

JPK002 Syrupy Strawberry Candy

JPK002 is the main shade of the jelly lips-talk line. This is the one that Krystal wore on the ads.

It is a sheer but glossy fuchsia shade. The most pigmented out of all the ones I have.

It took me months of contemplating whether I'll do this or not but yeah... This is my bare lips for the basis of the shade swatches... DON'T JUDGE

This is my favorite among the ones I have... At first, it is glossy but wears out easily after eating but leaves a tint that lasts the whole day.

I give JPK002 Syrupy Strawberry Candy a 4.5 / 5. I was very excited when I saw this shade and has been on my wishlist. It is a very spring~y shade and is very wearable.

JBE101 Slice of Sour Lemon

JBE101 is also one of the main shades of the line. Wouldn't have got it on my own, sorry...

A glossy shade without any hit of color. It only provides a subtle shimmer that amplifies your natural lip color when worn on its own.

I can only use this as a gloss or lip balm and I actually think it makes my lips paler, shinier, but paler.

JOR203 Sweet Plum Candy

JOR203 is the third and last main shade of the jelly lips-talk line. It is my second favorite among the three.

It applies as a reddish-orange shade. Glossy after application but wears of after a while but leaves subtle tint.

This actually makes my lips pop out the most. Isn't as orange as you think because of its reddish hue, it makes it more wearable.

I give JOR203 Sweet Plum Candy a 4 / 5. I actually like it... Perfect for lightweight makeup looks.

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed but I don't hate this line... It is not for everyone especially if you have pigmented lips or you prefer more opaque lip products. I think that it's definitely perfect for spring but it won't be compatible with a lot of makeup looks so I give it 4 / 5.

No More Bang Hair Days: Etude House Hot Style Hair Tools Bangs Pink Roll Review

Hey guys!! I hope you also had one of the most reinvigorating vacation of your lives! I've been blabbering on and on about my project hair ever since I had my hair treated at a recent event I attended. You may also have noticed that I recently changed my hairstyle, yes I "refringed" myself kekeke... To be honest, I have no intention of cutting my bangs since March - May are the hottest months in the Philippines, but Etude House recently came out with another product which made me think otherwise, the Hot Style Hair Tools Bangs Pink Roll. This is one of the products I've been loving these days. So without further ado, let's get started with my review!

These rolls are made of solid plastic rollers wrapped with velcro so that the hair sticks to it. The edge of these compared to other hair rollers is the silver lining in every roller, the hot wires that stays heated even after you blow dry your hair.

There are a couple of "bang problems" that can be fixed with the Pink Hair Roll:

- Unmanageable hair

- Wavy Bangs

- Bangs that Fly away

-In case your bangs starts to get too long

And my personal favorite

- Bangs that have no body (too straight)

There are a couple of ways to use this tool. One is by using hairdryer and the other one is by air drying it which is my preference because it is more hair friendly. Here is the easiest tutorial to obtain the bangs you could have killed for without heat.

1. Put the Pink Roll at the end of your fringe then roll it upward.

Sorry for the crappy nails... Because my forehead is almost non existent, my bangs tend to be really short so in my case, I just place the roll on my hairline then use it as a guide to fold the bangs inward.

2. Put hair velcro over it (optional)

This is optional.... Because as I've said, my bangs are short so it tends to unstick from the roller so I just put hair velcro over my bangs to secure it on the roller.

3. Leave it on for a couple of minutes to set, if you don't have time you can use a blow dryer on this stage.

I usually apply it before applying makeup. What I like about it is that it sets my bangs and at the same time keeps hair out of the way from my face.

4. Remove the rollers by pulling downward

While pulling downward, roll the tool inwards. Then brush your bangs to make it more natural.

Now your bangs in side view will look like this!

And front! kekeke... I usually regret cutting my bangs after a few days but this is the first time that I loved my hair with bangs!

Mani Monday: Etude House Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails Review

Hey guys!! You guys know that it's almost impossible for me to publish two or more posts a day but because summer vacation is almost here, I can now start to try my best to make up for my shortcomings. kekeke... Today I will share with you what I think about the nail polish that I have been loving these past few days. I had featured these on my recent posts including my Otakus and my Mani Monday Tutorial. So before I blabber any further, let's get started!

The first thing that got me is their flat brush, pretty similar to OPI's brush right? The good thing about nail polishes that have flat brushes is that those brushes help prevent the polish from streaking.

04 Strawberry Stars

It is a blue-based pink with big glitters. When worn, it can be translated as a purplish kind of pink.

What I like about this is it has flat "neat" glitters. Compared to other polishes with chunky glitters it doesn't come out as uneven.

I love how the pink shade is subtle enough that the glitters don't make the overall look of the polish as over the top as you expect it to be.

I give 04 Strawberry Stars a 4.5 / 5. I love this shade! I love how it compliments my skintone and how it looks subtle but flashy at the same time.

02 Lemon Sherbet

A pastel yellow color with chunky glitters. I find this to be a "cooler" yellow if it's possible.

To be honest I'm not a big fan of this particular shade's confetti~ish glitters. I guess that the amount of variation of the glitters overwhelms me compared to the pink one.

This shade reminds me of a clown... LOL! I like it but the colors of the glitters don't compliment well with each other that's why it looks like an after party. kekeke... But of course you have the choice to filter the amount of glitter that will be put on your nails so my problem isn't a biggie.

Mani Monday: Ice Cream Melt Nails

Hey guys!! I don't know about you, but I noticed a lot of dessert-themed makeup collections for spring 2013. So let's jump on the band wagon shall we? Let's celebrate Iambabypanda spring with a very simple dessert-themed Mani Monday. Cupcake nails are so over a couple of years ago and it hit me....Dripping paint manis are also in these days so I thought "Meh! What the heck it's killing two birds with one stone, let's do it." and viola! Let me show you the end product, Ice Cream Melt Nails!

1. Start of with a base coat and paint all your nails a light shade of tan.

This shade will be the base of our ice cream cone. Anything darker will make the next step hard to see.

2. Using a toothpick or a striper dipped into brown polish, draw a diagonal grid.

This step doesn't have to be perfect. This grid will be the texture of the ice cream cone.

3. Mattify your base.

You can either top it off with a matte nail polish or do the steaming method.

4. Using a dotting too dipped into your preferred polish, draw the melting ice cream

You can use either a plain pastel colored polish or with chunky glitter to serve as sprinkles.

- Draw 2 - 3 random vertical lines that stops halfway through the nail.

- Round up the end of each line by dotting a little bit more polish.

- Put one more random dot at the end of one of the vertical line

- Connect the vertical lines by drawing arches on the top of the nails

5. Use a top coat to protect your design from chipping away

To give this design more emphasis, only apply the top coat on the pastel nail polish.

Hey guys!! I feel that it has been FOREVER since I did my last otakus so I can't wait two more days to start blabbering about the things that I've been obsessed about the past month. As most of you guys know, I celebrated my birthday this March hence my Birthday Giveaway Series. This giveaway series is kinda different from my old giveaways because starting from my birthday, yes I posted the first leg of my giveaway on my birthday, I posted and will be posting month-long giveaways weekly. I made this an Iambabypanda otaku-themed giveaway where I will giveaway the stuff that I've been loving since March 2012 and will be categorized through weekly themes. The Skincare and Eye Makeup Series are already ongoing so if you haven't yet, please go check them out. Okay! my blabbering mode is officially on, so let's get started!!

1. Nivea Baby Soft & Cream Wipes

Every girl has those days where they too lazy to remove their makeup thoroughly. Those days came to me all at once these past few weeks LOL! Normally I use makeup remover wipes to remove my face makeup but I recently had the chance to try out the Nivea Baby Soft & Cream Wipes. Well, It's meant for babies I thought so what the heck so I used it. To my surprise, I didn't break out one bit! I actually ran out of this so I'll be repurchasing soon :D

2. iWhite Korea Whitening Pack

This peel-off mask is one of my life savers during hell week. Of course during exams it is inevitable to have all nighters or staying up late. In my case, when I do it in consecutive days, I start to have very gross black and white heads. What I did to prevent that is that while I'm studying, I put this on and peel it off when I'm about to sleep or take a shower. Honestly, this is the first hell week I didn't get those pesky little things so Hooray!

3. L'oréal Professionnel X-tenso Care Nutri-Reconstuctor Shampoo

I started "project hair" ever since I attended the L'oreal Steampod Launch last January. One part of it is using this shampoo with a very long name. I really love it! It makes my locks really straight but the good kind. What I mean that it leaves my hair bouncy even if I had it straightened which normally makes my hair really flat.

4. Etude House Color my Brows in 03 Red Brown

Phase two of my project hair was my hair color. I had it colored but I chose a color that would make it visible or else I will be in big trouble with my clinical instructors but recently, around end of February, I finally colored my hair with a "visible" shade which is a wine red shade. With that color transition, my brows need to follow, since I loved my Color My Brows in 01, I was so stoked when I saw that Etude House released a new shade of Color My Brows which is for those who dye their hair red. One Word: Obsessed!

5. Etude House Hot Style Hair Tools Bangs Pink Roll

Phase 3 is BANGS.... Honestly this product is the only reason why I cut my fringe during the hottest month of the year. I only bought it recently but I use it everyday and I don't have to use any clips to hide my bangs because this is the first time my bangs became manageable.

6. Etude House Silk Scarf Moist Hair Mist

Because of Project Hair this product has been my best friend. My hair tends to be extremely sensitive to environmental factors since I was a kid. For example if I stroll near a body of water, think bay or river, my hair becomes hard(?) and frizzy. So having this in my bag is a life saver coz it moisturizes my hair plus when I tie my hair, instead of washing my hair immediately to remove the ponytail mark, I just use this then comb through it and did I mention that it smells so good?

7. Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Trendsetter + L'oréal Paris Colour Caresse Shine Stain Combo

I've been into bold lips and simple eyes recently. I started experimenting with the products I own to come up with new shades. When I did this combo, I instantly fell in love. It's a great red plus this combo has got to be one of the longest lasting if not THE longest lasting lip color I've ever tried. I mentioned this to Celline when we met a couple of weeks ago that I can't remove this with just wipes, I had to use waterproof makeup remover to erase it.

8. In2it Moisture Intense Lipstick in Pink Alarm

I actually didn't buy this, This was my one of my best friends, Marie's lipstick. She went to sleep over so while we were catching up, she rambled about a lipstick she bought to make the guys compliment her being only effective when used by other people LOL! When I tried it out we both liked it on me so she gave it to me instead. I wore it at the BDJ Box Beauty Social a couple of days ago and I got lots of compliments. Heard that Marie?! kekeke :)

9. Etude House Sweet Recipe Berry Choux Base

I normally have a natural color on my cheeks when I don't have makeup but when I apply my usual base my face turns pallid and it has been my problem ever since. To be honest, I won't give this a try if Etude House didn't include this in my loot box from the Sweet Recipe Launch. But when I tried this the next day, I instantly fell in love. I love how it makes my face feel: soft and fluffy, literally. I also love how it gives my skin color and how it helps with oil control, seriously, oil control. If I was asked, I like this better than the mint choux base but maybe because redness isn't my biggest problem.

10. Etude House Sweet Recipe Ice Cream Nails in 04 Strawberry Stars

I love how this blue-based pink nail polish compliments my hands' skin tone. It is very buildable and do you see the packaging for crying out loud?! Anyway, I like the overall texture of this shade compared to the yellow one coz I don't like the confetti~ish glitter of the yellow one.

11. Sweet Recipe Cup Cake All Over Color in Raspberry Mousse Cake

This is one of my favorite from the Etude House Sweet Recipe Collection. It doesn't actually come out as a red but a bolder pink which looks a lot more natural than the other shades. I could bring only this anywhere and be ok.

12. How I Met Your Mother

It's hard for me to find series that share my humor. I loved House M.D. but when it ended I looked for a new series obsession and HIMYM became the victim. kekeke

13. Riff-off Mash up - Pitch Perfect Soundtrack

Yes, Pitch Perfect became my obsession too. I love Cups and Titanium too but this has been on repeat all the time this month... Fat Patricia RULES! kekekeke

14. Candy Crush

This game has been keeping me preoccupied for months and I'm stuck at level 65 for a few days now. I'm getting pretty frustrated but I still love it kekekeke

I know I haven't had the opportunity to post about the site until recently, I gotta say that I'm actually a "closet fan" because of the reason I said on my last post. One thing that I like about Sample Room is that we have the same vision to defy the misconception that you can't try out more products if you are less fortunate than others. Mani Monday: Piggy Nail Decals

Hey guys!! I thought for the longest time what nail art design would I want for my birthday and it got to me that I haven't used the piggy water nail decals that Celline and I bought at Landmark a couple of weeks ago... Plus the fact that she pressured me in her post kekeke, just kidding. I had a lot fun with this and I wanna share it to you guys so badly so let's get started!

1. Start of with a base coat and paint all your nails a crisp white.

If you are using nail decals make sure to apply a light base because the decals are so thin, it is translucent. This will make the design look opaque.

2. Create the pink and yellow flowers.

Using a dotting tool, a ball point pen or a tooth pick, create the flowers by doing five pink dots in a small circle, then alternate and use the yellow polish and dot around a small circle randomly around the nail. Then put a yellow dot in the center of the pink flower and vice versa.

3. Apply nail decals

Separate each nail decal by cutting them with scissors. What I like about these piggy nail decals, except the fact that it's really cheap (19.95 php), it is really easy to work with.

After removing the plastic film, submerge each nail decal for a couple of seconds.

You don't have to peel the decals with your nails. All you have to do is slide them from the sticker paper then apply.

TIP: Nail decals dry easily. If you are new at this, submerge your fingernail first before you stick the decal so you can move its position more easily

8. Use a top coat to protect your nail art design from chipping away.

Tous les Jours, established in 1996, is a French‐Asian Bakery serving a unique selection of bakery goods and beverages made with the highest quality ingredients. Tous les Jours means “EVERYDAY" in French and contains the company's philosophy that they would like to provide their customers with the best quality and the freshest products “EVERYDAY”.

Here in the Philippines, Tous les Jours has six operating branches, SM North Edsa, SM Southmall, SM Mall of Asia, Alabang Town Center, Eastwood and Greenbelt 5. This year, they will be opening fifteen more branches including SM City Fairview, Festival Mall, Glorietta 4, SM Jazz, SM Light and SM Megamall.

Every store has an interior that is made out of wood, stone and brick to achieve that rustic & vintage vibe.

They offer home‐made style bread using natural fermentation. Healthy and delicious breads baked everyday. They use no artificial flavoring or coloring on their products and they only use the freshest possible ingredients.

Party with Bear is a perfect chocolate cake for the children. The cute bear is perfect for parties and available for 598 php

Rose Inspiration Fresh Cream Cake is filled with hand picked strawberries from Korea.

Perfect balance of strawberries and fresh yogurt cream icing topped with natural strawberry powder. This is available for 498 php.

Try Before You Buy: My Personal Thoughts on Sample Room Philippines

Hey guys! Yep I know the Sample Room hype started a few months ago and I guess it is too late for some, but I wanna share this to the ones like me who are not always up to date with the hottest trends. First of all, I have commitment issues with bills, so I can't keep up with "monthly subscription" boxes. So when I heard about Sample Room, it DID draw my attention but I wasn't immediately hooked, why? Please keep reading!

At first, I didn't get it, AT ALL. I heard Aya, Kath, Eyah and Celline talk about it A LOT but it just sounded to me like another subscription box. As time passed by and I heard further about it, I became more and more interested BUT! I still didn't get it. Trust me, I do well in school but I really lack common sense, LOL! This is the reason why I haven't got any samples up until now.

It is just recently when the concept of Sample Room became crystal clear to me. Basically, Sample Room let's you try out products you wouldn't have let yourself buy in full size. And just in case, no I'm not assuming everyone is as ignorant as me, but just in case there are some who don't get it as well, this is something I wish I saw at that time. So this is an idiot's guide to enjoy Sample Room:

Just sign up on their website and you will answer simple questions about yourself so that they will know what kinds of products you'll be interested in

After signing up, you will get free 100 points.... Ok based on my experience aka stupidity, the 100 points is equal to 100 pesos and this is where you'll get the shipping fee too... No! The 100 points is just the "starter kit" which you can use to get the samples only.

There is a limited amount of samples so you better hurry. The points that you'll need vary depending on the items posted.

So this is where I got confused again. I thought that the shipping fee is included in the 100 points so I got all confused and just gave up #RiverOfDrool. The thing is you really need to pay shipping fee regardless of the amount of samples you got. You can pay on Sample Room's partner establishments.

After you receive your samples, test them out and see whether it worked for you or not.

In exchange of the "free" samples, all you need to do is just post your honest opinion about the product/s you tried out

So now the question is how can you replenish your points to get new samples... All you need to do is rate and share your thoughts about the products you chose to try out.

Just in case that your point fell a little short compared to the new sample you wanted to try out, all you have to do is buy points!!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!: Carnival de Rainhas II

Hey guys!! The Regina Iustitiae Sorority (Sorore Lex Atheneum), a sorority composed of law students of the Ateneo Law School, is holding a 1-day fair and carnival event at the The NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig entitled “Carnival de Rainhas II”. It will be held on April 7, 2013, Sunday, from 10:00AM to 9:00PM.

Carnival de Rainhas literally translates to Carnival of Queens and is in fact held annually in the city of Bethlehem, Brazil a month before Easter. The Carnival is considered as a farewell to negative things, as well as a preparation for the coming of Easter. In their interpretation, this event is not only a way to say goodbye to the school year, but also to start the summer season with a bang!

This event is the second installment of Carnival de Rainhas last year at the Rockwell Tent. They had over 60 concessionaires, providing their bazaar goers with tons of choices not only as to the products that they can buy including food, clothes, make-up, bags, shoes, accessories and household items, but also as to the fun-filled activities they could immerse themselves in, such as various game booths, caricature booths, figurine painting booths, face painting and glitter tattoo booths, and the like.

This year’s event will be held in the same vein as last year: only bigger and brighter! They will have over 100 food and non-food concessionaires, several game booths, inflatable castles, and concessionaires offering services geared towards the young and young at heart, such as face painting, balloon twisting, caricature drawing, fortune telling and many more. The event truly promises to be an entertaining and fun way to spend Sunday with family and friends.

Iambabypanda Conquered: Etude House Spring 2013 Sweet Recipe Make-up Collection Launch

Hey guys! How have you been? Last February, Etude House was kind enough to invite me to the launch of their Hansel and Gretel - themed Spring 2013 Make-up Collection, Sweet Recipe. It was an aesthetic heaven at Tous Les Jours - Eastwood where it was held. Sweet smell of freshly baked pastries, the tasty treats and the mouth watering sight of candies and of course the makeup collection. Yes, the collection was mouth watering too, kekeke... So come with me as I share the tastiest collection Etude House has ever had.

It was also the day to introduce the new muses of Etude House, F(x)'s Krystal and Sulli. In my opinion, even though both the models are equally girly, the fun and colorful aura of Krystal and the delicate and soft image of Sulli portrays the collection perfectly as a whole.

It was fun meeting new found blogger friends and not so new ones in events like this. Meet my "neighbors" Dawn, Jes and K aka Kumikomae. I can't believe I forgot to take pictures with Eyah after all our whacky antics that evening. LOL!

Mr. Boram Kim, The Etude House Global Specialist, introduced to us the Sweet Recipe Collection and told us all the product information.

Mani Monday: BYS Nail Enamel Color Change Review

Hey guys! A couple of years ago, a trend called "mood changing polish" appeared and I was so envious since the most popular brand that carries it is based overseas. Luckily, my sisters have a store near their place and got me some and viola! my very first Mani Monday kekeke... A couple of years have passed, though the trend is gone, there is no reason not to be still amazed right? BYS, an Australian Brand, has brought something similar if not the same kind of nail polish, the Nail Enamel Color Change. And so before I blabber further, let's get started!

Before anything else, in case you are wondering, I used a warm and cold water soaking method to show you what the shades would look like in both extremes.

N283 Blue

It is an aquamarine shade when warm that turns to fountain blue when cold with a semi-matte finish.

This my most favorite among the ones that I got. It is perfect for summer and you only need two coats for it to be opaque.

♥ Has a semi-matte finish

♥ Smells like plastic balloon which reminds me of my childhood (This could be a NAY)

I give N283 Blue a 4.5 /5. I love this shade! It is super flattering. I actually like it more as matte than with an added shine from a regular top coat.

N305 Green

It is a sheer olive green leaning to yellow shade when warm and turns to a sheer moss green when cold with a semi-matte finish.

I find this shade to be a little highlighter~ish. I think if you want to see this shade's full potential you need to use a white polish as your base. which I find to be a bother when it is not a nail art design.

I give N305 Green a 3 /5 I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of this shade I would have liked it if it's more opaque. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it, it just didn't meet my standards I guess.

N284 Salmon

It is a peach shade when warm that turns to salmon when cold with a semi-matte finish.

I like the color itself but the formula is streaky. It takes me 3-4 coats to even out the polish plus I don't see much difference when hot and cold.

♥ This particular shade is acceptable for the price which is 339php or 8usd

♥ Dries quickly

♥ Has a semi-matte finish

♥ Smells like plastic balloon which reminds me of my childhood (This could be a NAY)

♥ It's hard to distinguish the difference of color

I give N284 Salmon a 3.8 /5. I can say that it is respectable... I wouldn't buy backups of it but I don't regret buying it either.

Overall, I actually really like them. I'm only disappointed in some petty key points but we all have different takes on this, right? keke. There are a couple more shades from this line but some of the shades are similar to my other color changing polishes so I won't be able to get those. But I would have picked them up if I don't have my own.

Hey guys!! Even if I was a total cosmetic ignorant until freshman year of college, when it comes to skincare I was always conscious. I was always at the drugstore back when I was a high school junior buying and trying out random stuff that I thought were going to be good for my skin. Coincidentally, that was also the time that K-dramas were starting to make a boom. I have always admired their healthy glowing skin so when I saw any product with "Korea" on it, cha-ching! SOLD! Yes, I came across my go-to moisturizer by my childish whim, but I didn't regret that compulsion one bit. So let me introduce to you my HG moisturizer, iWhite Korea Aqua Moisturizing Cream.

In the beginning of the month, Biocostech, the distributor of iWhite in the country, was kind enough to give me a long time supply of it so I'm really thankful.

iWhite Aqua Moisturizing Cream is a water based moisturizer refined by Bio-nanotechnology, the construction of particles with sizes in the nanometer range or smaller, but to put it more simple think... DNA~ish. Because of that "bio-nanotechnology" it made it more potent because the ingredients are manipulated on an atomic scale and putting those together.

Because it is water based, there is no sticky feeling at all but it does moisturize your face, big time. The first thing you would notice is the soothing and refreshing feeling after you apply it onto your skin. It may have to do with the key ingredients which are:

MULBERRY

Believe it or not, we had tons of these growing up. There are lots of trees of these around our house, so good by the way... Ahem. These contain Arbutin, which is normally found in bear berries, wheat and pear skin, is an ether that inhibits Tyrosinase, an enzyme that controls melanin production. Therefore it prevents melanogenesis that often causes hyper pigmentation.

PANAX GINSENG

This is known as a potent antioxidant which helps knock out free radicals or chemical byproducts known to damage cells and at the same time. It contains phytonutrients that can stimulate and activate the skin's metabolism and blood flow to regenerate and tone. Ginseng also helps in collagen regeneration which makes it a super Anti Aging ingredient.

ALOE VERA

This helps improve your skin's elasticity, therefore it helps avoid the appearance of fine lines, stretchmarks and dark spots. It also helps in soothing your skin from inflammation, allergies, itching and sunburns. Aloe Vera also contains salicylic acid which is known for its anti-acne properties and vitamin C and E

GREEN TEA

The caffeine in Green Tea reduces irritation. It also has antioxidants to make the complexion appear brighter. It also contains anti-bacterial properties that helps prevent acne. It also contains Vitamin B that helps with skin and cell regeneration and C for brightening properties and collagen production.

One thing that made me like it even more is how it applies you can feel that it is very soothing and not sticky at all plus before it is absorbed in to your skin, you will see beads of water, like dew, that settles on top of your skin. Cool yah? kekeke

I believe that there are a couple of underrated products because there are no famous brand ambassadors or the product is very affordable so you'll be skeptical if it would work but it totally does and I think iWhite Aqua Moisturizing Cream is one of those products. I'm saying this definitely not because there were samples provided but I have been using and loving this product for YEARS now and this is my go to moisturizer especially if I experience breakouts. Dare to Bare: AcneCare with Lactoferrin Dietary Supplement Review

Hey guys!! Okay, so before anything else, let me tell you something about my current skin condition. I have combination leaning to oily and extremely sensitive skin. When I say sensitive, it's like I breakout when I don't use gel type toothpaste sensitive. I can't say I have acne prone skin since I only have breakouts before that time of the month and that's what I tried to prevent these past few months. So did this help? Find out if you keep reading

Mami and Dadi's dermatologist has always told me that it is faster to work way out than to bring your way back in. She is referring to topical skin medication opposed to supplements that can help with clearing out the skin. She also said that some topical medication can be the cause of breakouts because some non-prescribed products don't work well together or just simply clog your pores.

AcneCare should be taken two times daily for 2-4 weeks to see visible results. Before I tried this out, I asked the dermatologist about this since she's always telling me the "in-out is better than out-in" spiel every time we visit. She said that it's okay since the ingredients are safe, in fact it is like the three of her supplements in one, namely:

So what I decided to do is to try these out late September up to October, then skipping three months which is November - January just to make sure the supplement is completely out of my system and to see what my skin condition will be like before having that week in January.

OCT 7-13: PMS Period (No Breakouts)
