Help making HTML/CSS sites responsive (Anywhere)

I'm good enough with HTML and CSS to make sites I like on desktop, using templates like those found at https://html5up.net, but I don't have the chops to make them work on mobile (and not all those templates seem to work quite right on mobile). I need some help taking sites like https://ahemahem.org (still working on it, so forgive any placeholder/garbage text) to a stage where they're mobile-ready, including a hamburger menu and appropriately resizing images; possibly integrating a mail signup form, etc. Basically "take a very simple site and ensure it works on mobile."

A lot of what I'm planning to do will ultimately be CC0, so any code generated will ultimately be public domain. This will likely be a one-off, but may turn into some rolling other small projects if warranted.

Record a few bars of accordion music (Arlington, VA (Anywhere is fine))

My dad, who passed away suddenly a few years ago, played the accordion when he was a kid. Recently, mom gave his accordion away to a local music school. In the process, she discovered a booklet where he had composed "my waltz" when he was maybe 12/13.

As a Christmas present for my mom, I was hoping to have someone record the snippet of music on an accordion so I can send it to her. Final output would be an mp3 file of his composition, played on an accordion.

Difficulty: Old-school Swedish musical notation (not sure if that matters), a pretty fuzzy photo of the page of notes. (Looking for bars 2-5 on that page, as I think the first bar is something else?)

Happy to pay for the help. Flexible on the amount.

I made up a holiday celebration. Does (quickly) turning it into a graphic novel / comic sound fun to you? (I'm in the eastern U.S. but you can be anywhere)

This isn't a paid gig, but maybe someone will think it sounds like fun.

Also, it's intended to be quick, like, less than a day or something.

My friend's birthday is coming up (in two days), so I made up a whole elaborate holiday around it and turned that into this story-ish thing (name changed for anonymity, but it sounds better with the original name).

I tried using one of the tools/apps myself, but my net connection may not be up to it right now (using a wifi hotspot). Anyway I probably should be working on other things.

But I really like the story, and got some good ideas for how to break it into scenes/panels.

Is this something that might sound fun for you? Because... I can't pay you, but you would be allowed to share the result if you wanted. Or I could give you a story to use to make another such creation for your own friend or the holiday you need.

Comics artist with "cartoon realism" style. (London)

I'm a published writer with a completed script for a non-fiction graphic novel, but no-one to draw it. It's a real-world setting and cast with no fantasy or superhero elements. The story's a serious one, so the art needs to match that tone. Initially, I just need ten pages of finished B&W art (pencils & inks) to use as I pitch the project round suitable publishers. For the right artist this could grow into a paid commission for the full book. I'm happy to agree either a page rate deal or a 50/50 ownership split (including ancillary rights). The story has proven TV/film potential. If you'd like to be considered, please Metamail me with a link where I can find your samples and details of any comics work you've done before. Thank you.

Translate a short flyer to invite Spanish-speakers to join Artisans.coop (NC / USA / anywhere)

I'm posting this as a volunteer activity, but I might be able to pay a ridiculously small amount if necessary. Really, though, it's volunteer, and it's totally fine if nobody volunteers :)

That said, if you're fluent, it may take you less than three minutes. The flyer is mainly graphics, URIs, and a scannable code.

--

The request is to translate the text on one flyer, accurately but keeping the spirit of the original. I'm not sure if I'll try to make one bilingual flyer or separate Spanish and English flyers.

The text is:
"We are building a handmade co-op alternative to Etsy!";
"Join our community!";
"ARTISANS.COOP/LINKS or scan QR";
"Follow @COOPARTISANS on [links/icons]";
"Designed by Miss Thera"

--

I'm part of the grassroots campaign to built founding membership for Artisans.coop. There are many artisans and many Spanish speakers living near me in the North Carolina Triangle, and I've met spanish-speaking artisans, and I want to help get some diversity into the group ASAP. If someone will help me make a Spanish-language flyer, I can start getting it out into the world, at least here, possibly elsewhere.

If you give me your e-mail address I can forward you an original, but the above text is all the text there is. If you are more comfortably staying a MeMail contact, I can send you a link to the folder where the original is, plus the file name.

I asked the co-op about it, and no Spanish speaker has volunteered to translate anything so far. The site itself has a machine translation plugin, so a Spanish speaker could navigate it.

A co-op is not a nonprofit entity. It is member owned, and anyone can join (even if they do not have cash to make the initial investment, in this co-op). I'd love to get some multicultural voices in immediately so they are heard early and often.

Thanks a bunch!

NYC : Root some cuttings in water and grow avocado pits in water (New York City)

I'm looking for someone in NYC who will grow some plant cuttings and avocado pits in water for me, for a trade show in August.

I'll be exhibiting at a trade show in NYC in mid-August. One of our products is a little tool/display for water propagation of cuttings, succulents or pits such as avocado or mango pits.
Normally I grow my own display cuttings and pits for this purpose, and it looks awesome at trade shows local to me (europe). However, I can't fly with live plants to the USA.
So, I'd like to hire someone in NYC to root cuttings in water and grow a few avocados and mango pits, so they'll be pretty and leafy by mid-August.
I need that someone to be super reliable, so I can be assured to have those plants ready to pick up for the show. They don't need to be a professional, but it'd be great if they've plenty of experience and access to sufficient space on a sunny windowsill to grow these.

I would pick up the plants from you on August 11th or 12th.

So, if you're already growing cuttings at home, and are interested in this job, memail me and we can discuss details and compensation.

Receive a package (clothing) and ship it to the US (California )

I'd like to buy suit separates from <a href=""www.modstrom.com"">Mödstrom, who only ship to the following countries:

Austria
Belgium
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Greenland
Ireland
Italy
Luxembourg
Norway
Portugal
Spain
Sweden
Lithuania
Poland
The Netherlands

I'm in the United States. So ideally, I'd like someone in one of the above countries to receive the package for me and ship it on to the US. I would pay for all shipping costs, and either order the item or give you the money to order if you'd like to keep your address confidential. I'll also pay you for your time, please feel free to make an offer (I don't know how much effort this will require on your part depending on your location, but if you'd like me to make an initial offer I can do so).

I'd prefer to be contacted through MeMail, but you can use the email address here if you prefer.

Rent me your RV for Burning Man (Black Rock City, NV)

Hi, I'm looking for an RV to rent for Burning Man, hopefully within a ~10hr drive of Black Rock City. I would need it from Thursday, August 24 through Thursday, September 5.

Required: refrigerator, shower, capable of extended boondocking
Appreciated: solar, large grey water capacity

I'm an experienced burner, an avid consumer of information, and a mom. I'm planning to treat your RV as gently as possible and return it in the condition I receive it in, and I have a plan for how I'm going to do that. Happy to discuss further.

I'm willing to pay, but I'm hoping for a reasonable rate - preferably less than $4k out the door. I am willing to get additional insurance.

Setting up and moderating a Mastodon instance (but not hosting) (Remote)

This is very speculative. I am assisting a faculty member where I work with the idea of establishing a Mastodon server (hosted by the university) to support a specialized intersection of a particular equity-seeking group and an area of study. The work would be to help run the server, and possibly promote it -- a combination moderator and marketer, both making sure the community is running smoothly and also reaching to people to encourage them to join.

If this seems interesting to you, and in full knowledge that this might go nowhere, I'd love to hear about your moderation experience, how many hours a week you think you'd be able to put into the project, and your pay per hour expectations (in USD).
