2016 TSDayOut : Paya Indah Wetlands, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and Sepang Go-Kart

I have been selected to participate this TSDayOut last weekend on 3rd September 2016.

It was a day out organised by Tourism Selangor, this effort to organize

"TS Day Out" has started in year 2011.

This time round, this event is collaborated with Sepang International Circuit

and Paya Indah Wetland at Dengkil.

Part 1: Paya Indah Wetlands

It was a fruitful but also a tired day!

First, we went to Paya Indah Wetlands at Dengkil

A little intro about Paya Indah Wetlands:

It was formerly a mining land.

The wetlands is divided into three zones.

Recreation Zone

Education Zone

Conservation Research Zone

Total area is 3,100 hectares which consists of lakes,
marshes and low land tropical forest

Crocodile Farm

Malay Village (Kampung Melayu)

Sometimes there is some cultural activities at this

Terengganu Malay House

Observation Tower (Menara Tinjauan)

Enjoy a panoramic view of Putrajaya and some lakes.

Only 10 persons are allowed to go up at one time.

Fishing Area

Fishing is possible on Typha Lake from 8am - 6:30pm everyday except Fridays.

The cost is RM10 per rod. No live bait is allowed.

Kayaks and Paddle Boats

Kayak rental costs RM7 per hour.

An instructor can be hired for groups of between 10 to 20 people

at RM180 for 3 hours (prior reservation is needed).

The hours for kayaking are 9am - 12pm, 3pm - 6pm.

HOW TO GET THERE

Paya Indah Wetlands is quite well sign-posted. Coming from Putrajaya head towards Dengkil.

At the traffic lights in Dengkil turn right towards Banting.

After a couple of kilometres turn right when see a sign for Paya Indah.

Follow the road to the end.

What happened on that TSDayout at the Paya Indah Wetlands?

On that day, we were divided into four groups, and in a group of 10,

we were told to work as a a team to hunt for the photos based on the 6 questions given.

I was assigned to cover the crocodile farm.

So here you go, this is my photo when the officer on duty feed the crocodile with dead chickens.

After that I walked to the nearby station, the hippo farm.

I was given a chance to feed the hippo too!

It was fun!

Part 2 : Sepang International Circuit (SIC)

After an hour plus, we moved to Sepang International Circuit by coach.

Lunch was at 1pm, and we reached SIC about 11.30am.

So we were briefed on the SIC and the events on that day, that was the 1000KM Sepang Race by local automobile, such as Proton, and Honda, etc.

We were given 10 minutes to experience the starting grid on the race track.

It was really hot outside. The temperature is estimated to be 33-34 degree Celsius.

Then we have a tour at SIC for about an hour plus.

We were brief on the different function rooms, such as Time Keeper room, Control Room,

Media Room, VIP Lounge, Award Podium and Paddock.

Part 3 : Sepang Go-Kart

After that, we were on the Go-Kart experience at Sepang about 6pm.

The race track for go-kart is a total of 1.247KM long, and 10m wide,

with 11 challenging bends.

Sepang International Kart Circuit (SIKC) is located within Sepang International

Circuit (SIC). The Kart Circuit was designed by the renowned F1 Track designer,

Hermann Tilke, who was also responsible for the layout of Sepang International

Circuit’s main Track.

The karting track is 1.247km long and 10m wide, with 11 challenging bends.

SIKC is a professional karter’s circuit sanctioned by Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK)

under the Federation Internationale de Automobile (FIA) for Asia Zone C.

The tarmac used is identical to the one on the main track, thus offers the best racing experience.

ASEAN Unity Run and Ride 2016

ASEAN Unity Run & Ride 2016 is back! The event will be held in Putrajaya on 6^th of November featuring 4 competitive categories in the 10km run with Men and Women’s Open along with the Men and Women’s Veteran groups. There are also the non-competitive 5km fun run and Stroller Run category, with an additional category for volunteers and celebrities cycling with underprivileged orang asli as part of the “Lend Your Body” campaign. For early registrants will stand a chance to win iPhone 6. Check out how you can win one the iPhone 6.

For this year the organizer, Aman Malaysia added a 35km fun ride for its 2016 due to a high demand from youths and young professionals and is set to take participants through the scenic routes of Putrajaya.

2013 Malaysia Mega Yoga Day

I just participated in the Mega Yoga Day organized by Mega Lifesciences,

in collaboration with Malaysian Wellness Society on the 27th October 2013

at the outdoor Red Carpet Avenue, The Strand, Kota Damansara.

This fundraising eventaims to encourage Malaysians

to stay fit under its “Good Health by Yourself” campaign,

also in conjunction with World Stroke Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Volunteers distributed goodies bag before the event after the registration done.

On the day of the event, I arrived at the venue as early as 6:30am.

The registration started at 7:00am and was then followed by speeches

from respective representative and celebrities.

The participating Malaysian celebrities are model Amber Chia,

Miss Malaysia-Universe 2010 Nadia Heng,

TV and radio host Wong Chui Ling

and Jojo Struys.

The inaugural event has attracted over 2,000 people,

including celebrities, representatives from corporate companies,

community leaders, government ministries and agencies,

volunteers as well as health enthusiasts.

However this event did not went into Malaysia Book of Records

as it was originally pledge to have 5000 participants!

Despite of the hot sun at the outdoor venue,

the participants succeeded in their mission joining

the Mega Yoga Day and showed their support t

How My dear baby look?

She is funny with too much of expressions sometimes.

Only 2.2 kg for Day 1 on earth!

She is doing well and are twice the size when taking this photo.

We shaved her hair for remembrance.

Another sharing about pregnancy is my experience on Traditional Confinement Massage.

I have c-sec operation to deliver my baby.

I waited for 3 weeks after delivery to have the traditional massage.

It is between RM100 to RM300 per session depends on what you require.
For me, this massage service is not cheap, however, it helps me in regaining my health and shape back hopefully. I only lose about 1kg after three sessions without cutting all the confinement heavy meals.

2. Food/ Diet

Doctor suggested to eat less outside to ensure high nutriens and proper cook food.
Some food that I avoid including lamb, duck, raw egg and fish, raw cheese
Cut down coffee (not more than a cup a day) but I manage to resist it altogether in the first 4 months.
Avoid cold drinks, ice-cream, sushi.

3. Pre-natal check up

This is the most crucial decision during pregnancy as most companies will not allow this bill to be reimbursed. So if you are comfortable to visit the government clinic, then you may save up at least RM100-150 per visits.
Monthly visit is the minimum requirement if everything goes well. after 28th week, then it becomes 2 visits per month (forthnightly) from 32nd week onwards
and once a week from 37th week.

If you visit the government clinic, be prepared to spend about 1-2 1/2 hours for each visit.
However, each visit will cover the urine test, blood test, weight and blood pressure measurement, inspection on the abdominal area and simple ultrasound to detect baby heart beats.

Those essential supplement such as Iron tablets and Vitamin will be given free by government clinic too!

Anti-Tetanus Injection

If this is your first pregnancy, the anti-tetanus (ATT) injection is given once you are able to feel or detect your baby's movement (about into 3rd trimester). The second dose of ATT will be given one month later. Only one dose will be given for each subsequent pregnancy.

4. Special check up

Dental check up is compulsory during the 1st trimester (first 3 months of pregnancy)
Glucose Tolerance Test during the 3rd trimester to determine if you suffer from gestational diabetes or glucose intolerance of pregnancy.

5. Supplements

I personally took a few supplements to ensure I have taken twice the nutriens but NOT the calories.

I took Protein, maternal milk powder, bee pollen, prune juice, fiber, and some chinese herbs as drinks.

6. Gender

Personally I prefer not to know the gender unless it is informed by the doctor at the end trimester.
My huisband and I have no specific preference for the gender as this is our first baby. We only wish that he/ she is healthy and happy growing up in the womb.
