Anthony + Aryn – Engaged

I’ve known Anthony and Aryn for a few years now from a mutual friend, and when they asked me to be their wedding photographer I was pretty thrilled. Yes, because they are a GORGEOUS couple, but also because I know Aryn is very DIY + crafty + thirfty, which means their wedding is going to be pretty BA. We had the perfect sunny evening for their engagement session a few weeks ago. Some of my favorite things: Sun, fields, open sky, and love. BAM. Pretty sure we accomplished all of those things in these shots. I’m so pumped over these images! Super looking forward to their wedding this August – keep your eyes peeled!

Drew Blackwell – Newborn

Everyone, meet the newest addition to my family! Drew Kenneth Blackwell. My cousin Keith and his wife Steph introduced him to the world three weeks ago, weighing in at 7 lbs, 8 ounces. He is the most precious little thing you ever did see. With big blue eyes, and snores from an old man .. I don’t think I could love him anymore than I do already. Here are some shots I took quick a day after he was born in the hospital during our first visit. :)

Casey + Katrina – Engaged

A few weeks ago I met Casey and Katrina for the first time, at a hiking spot off of the Susquehanna down past Muddy Run. It was such an awesome spot – I’m in love with woods and nature, so this was a really fun shoot for me. Despite the coldness of the day, Casey and Katrinas chemistry added all the warmth we needed. And can I just say – her hair.. I mean really. How is that even fair!? Gorgeous. :)

I’m so excited for their wedding June 1st .. it’s bound for glory!

Josh + Katie – Engaged

A few weeks ago I met Josh and Katie at a small, peronal airport called “The Deck” near Lebanon. I was super exited since I’m familiar with this airport as it’s one my boyfriend and his family use time to time. Katie and Josh were so sweet! I loved all of Katies vintage touches to their session. I have a feeling their wedding is going to be super awesome – PUMPED. Although it was suuuuper cold and windy, they braved it all and their images turned out great. My assistant Bethany and I couldn’t get over how kind and adorable these two were with one another. Josh was like a teddy bear, always wanting to hug and hold Katie.. and Katie, of course, couldn’t refrain her cute little smile when she met his eyes. So. Cute.

Andrew + Carly – Engaged

On July 13th, 2013 Andrew and Carly are going to be tying the knot, and I will get to photograph it. Which is super exciting for me because I am good friends with Carly’s younger sister, Chloe. The minute Carly contacted me about her engagement and wedding, I was thrilled that she wanted me to be a part of capturing it all! Andrew and Carly get along so well, and they’re so fun to be around. We met at Greystone Manor Farms which is so incredibly gorgeous. Fields, trees, tall grass, pathways, sunset, vintage couch, sheep.. need I say more? It was super windy and cold, but these two stuck it out like champs.

Brent + Andrea – Wedding

In December, I ended my 2012 wedding season with one of the most amazing weddings I’ve ever shot. Not only because it was a destination wedding in the Duck Keys, Florida but because this couple is seriously so amazing. I’ve known Andrea for a few years now and she is one of the most sincere, humble, kind, passionate girls I’ve ever met. When we met over coffee for her to tell me all about her and Brent, and there love story, she also announced that she wanted ME to be the one to capture their engagement + wedding photos! I was beyond thrilled. Then she proceeded to tell me they were planning a destination wedding, and I’m pretty sure the smile on my face resembled one of those big, cheesy, character drawings. NO lie.

Brent is so good to Andrea. The minute I was around them both my heart melted. He is so attentive to her; the way he looks at her, the way he goes for her hand or to put his arm around her. And Andrea is the cutest little thing ever. Brent makes her LIGHT. UP. The smiles and giggle he fills her with is undeniable. They have something rare and genuine.. and it’s a beautiful thing.

Kristen and I began journeying to the airport with Andreas parents around 3 a.m – hello car naps and coffee. Mr. and Mrs. Kemp instantly made us feel so “at home” and welcomed. I felt like I’ve known them my whole life and it was as if they were my second parents. SO MUCH JOY. It just made the entire trip and experience so happy and fun. Another super awesome plus to this wedding was that our WICKED COOL friends Kent and Ashleigh of Kent Mast Photo/Video were the videoographers! We all work together so well so we’re always looking forward to weddings we get to work at together. Kent put together such an incredible video from this wedding, you all totally need to go check it out HERE. You won’t regret it. :)

We stayed on Hawks Cay Resort, where Brent and Andrea later enjoyed their honeymoon. The entire wedding day was so relaxed. Andrea did her own hair and makeup, and went to a market the morning of to buy her flowers and flip-flops. The entire guest list included both of their immediate families, and Andreas best friend, Danielle. Right after they were announced as husband and wife, they turned around and were enveloped by their friends and family. It was so intimate and perfect. And the sunset ushered in their breath taking portraits. We ended the evening with a lovely dinner at a bed and breakfast on the island. It was truly a magical day.

Brent and Andrea, thank you SO MUCH for having us all be a part of your special memories. It was one day I will never forget! You guys are an amazing couple, and it makes my heart so happy that you’ve found one another and began to create this wonderful life with each other. P.S- (I also enjoy keeping up with your IG’s of your cute adventures and cat-loving photos.. HAHA!). You guys rock.

Jeff + Darcy – Winter Wedding

This past Winter, Kristen and I had the pleasure of photographing my neighbors, Jeff and Darcy’s wedding. It was super special for a few reasons: 1. My parents were the pastors that married them. It was their first wedding ceremony since becoming licenses pastors. EEP! 2. They’re my neighbors!! 3. They’re part of my parents house church, which meant just about alllllll of our friends were either involved with the wedding, or at the wedding. It made for some awesome, let-loose dancing. Since we basically knew everyone, it felt like we were photographing family. The entire day was so heart warming, laid back and fun. The wedding was very vintage/rustic inspired. The ceremony was held at an old church in Downtown Lancaster which no longer exists, and the reception was held at Lancaster County Park – RockFord Plantation, in a little barn. It was super pretty and went so well with the cold, candlelit evening. Jeff has a thing for trees, and plants.. like hardcore. So it was fun trying to incorporate that into their portraits with the amazing location provided. I’m super in love with some of their last portraits with the blurred out tree in the background. WHOOP. :)

It’s been so awesome seeing Jeff and Darcys relationship develop not only together, but in Christ. I’ve been able to witness so much transformation between them, needless to say, I shed more than a tear or two on this special day. (Annnd, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one). Jeff and Darcy, you’re such a beautiful couple. You go perfect together, and I am SO happy that you found one another, and sculpted such an amazing relationship.

*Please note the adorable jars with handmade jam (made by Darcy herself!). These darn jars gave us such grief! I think Darcy and the girls probably spent about 20 hours when it was all said and done just getting the burlap covers to stay on with the ribbon. They kept popping off! But I think that it was totally worth it. They made such an adorable “take home” gift to the guests. And I’m still enjoying my families jams to this day! Another favorite of mine from this wedding was the love between Darcy and her father. It was so sweet and genuine and humble. I almost cried all over again editing through the images.

Since I am close with this couple, and the wedding was so relaxed, I had a little fun with editing; playing up a more dark, filmy look. I think it turned out really cool, and I’m super pumped to share these images with you..I think some of my favorites are the bridal portraits in the vintage car! What about you!?

Todd + Beth – Wedding

Let me just start by saying how much Kristen and I enjoyed photographing this wedding. Minus the fact that we didn’t really take in to account the early morning dew that would be on the grass, resulting in drenched, muddy Toms. YIKES. It was one of our only morning weddings last season, beginning at 10 am and wrapping up by noon! Totally in love with morning weddings now. The ceremony was simple and meaningful, the air was crisp and the sun was glorious. Plus, it was an Autumn wedding (held in October) which makes things even more spectacular. I LOVE THE FALL!! The reception was a brunch style, catered by Shady Maple (yum). It was an intimate time of enjoying friends and family, which was so relaxed that Kristen and I felt right at home. Plus, the whole thing (ceremony + reception) was held on a gorgeous barn/estate called Ironstone Ranch.

Todd and Beth are such a wonderful couple, they were so down to earth and made us feel so welcomed. They both have a heart for children, and that was so evident in their ceremony and atmosphere of the wedding. I mean really, check out the adorable flower girls and ring bearer!! I enjoyed photographing this wedding so much, and am so blessed to have met Todd and Beth. Thank you both, and wish you many blessings throughout your marriage and future together!

Brandon + Melissa – Wedding

Anyone else ready for some summer lovin!? ME. TOO. Thaaat is why I am sharing this lovely little wedding on the blog today. I shot this wedding over September, with my awesome assistant Kristen Joy. We had such a blast photographing this wedding. There were so many great details! The location, the weather, the attire, the food, the dancing.. it was all just perfect. This backyard wedding was held at Brandons parents house; ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and all. I loved the huge weeping willow that Brandon and Melissa got married in front of. The sun began to set RIGHT after their kiss, it really couldn’t have been better timing. Everything was elegant and put together so well. This was by far one of my favorites from 2012.

Brandon and Melissa live in Philadelphia, which is where we shot their engagement photos. If you missed that blog post, you should most definitely check it out. They honestly fit one another so perfectly. I loved being around them! Brandon + Melissa are so unique, and mature in their love for each other. Their story is a long, unique, beautiful one; and rather than me writing the whole thing out, I’m going to suggest that you watch their wedding video here, which was shot by Tree Of Life Films. Here’s a sneak: they met at a soccer tournament in Denmark (that they both were playing in.. they’re basically pros), started dating, lost touch and then found each other again. Honestly, this is one of the coolest “movies” I’ve ever seen. It’s totally worth checking out! DOITTTT. :)

Coty + Ashley – Engaged

Coty and Ashley are going to be my FIRST wedding of this 2013 season! I am so excited for May 18th. It was super fun for me to get to know these two, because they honestly remind me so much of my boyfriend and I. This year, I was introduced into the realm of quads and motocross, racing of all sorts. I’m learning my way around the lingo, and at this session, I came to find out that Coty also races! It was so fun hearing him talk about different tracks and things, and Ashley saying “Oh, You’ll get familiar with it real quick..” hahah. I felt a bond with them right off the bat. They’re both super sweet people, and they’re totally in love with one another. We walked around downtown Lancaster and ended at Prince St. with some hot coco, due to the FREEZING, snow falling afternoon. Actually, the snow wound up being a perfect accessory to the shoot. Don’t ya think!? Here’s some of my fav-ohh-riiiits! Enjoy. :)
