Mecha contest 2012 entry: OOB Painted - MG EW Heavyarms WIP 1

2012-02-16T07:39:00.000-08:00

So for The epic Mecha 2012 Contest over at MAC Forums, I decided to take one leap of faith

Core block unit, similar in structure to other wing kits, then again they share one frame

Progress on the chest and arms

Last thing for ow, snapped the waist and skirt. ball joints give the skirt great flexibility freeing up spaces for the legs

Not much yet, but then again, I'm just getting started, heads up for upcoming updates soon.

He's made from 5 different TF's (The combaticons)

FoC Jazz, digging his accuracy with his in game model

FOC Optimus: Bulkier than his WFC counterpart. Still not bad for a toy

Shockwave: The dude the fans have been screaming for definitely NOT a disappointment there Hasbro :D

Prototype HGUC Delta sighted

2011-12-21T07:52:00.000-08:00

So I browsed a fellow blogger's site and found this picture from a scan of the Hobby Magazine's feb issue.

Now look at the MS Resin prototype there. Seems familiar? Looks like the Delta Plus right? Bandai's made it official, we got one HGUC Delta Gundam coming in round March next year. As all Gundam fans know, the Delta Gundam was a prototype developed by Anaheim Electronics around the time of the Gryps Conflict (Time of Zeta Gundam) But during it's construction, the Delta's frame was discovered to have flaws. It made the unit essentally unable to transform (That would risk it tearng itself apart due to stress) And the Delta was eventually redesigned as the Hyaku Shiki. Years later, the concept was reinvestigated and the Delta Plus was created.

Delta Gundam MS Mode:

Wavrider mode:

That's it for MS Lore, only known info is that it will be essentially a transforming Hyaku Shiki (Colors are the same, so is the gun)

But with the plating (Gold) this will be a bit more on the expensive side for HGUC's

Price: 4200 Yen

Robot Damashii Buster...... A preview for the upcoming MG SEED Line?

2011-11-27T07:59:00.000-08:00

So here's the upcoming Robot Damashii Buster...

First glance make you think Why the heck it looks so different, right?
Take a look at the pic below then .... (The day we saw Duel's display area, the new MG Duel)

heck, if anything, I bet these SEED RD's will be a preview for the redesigned seed kits....hell, even the recent previewed Duel RD looks like the upcoming MG.. So any thoughts on this?

Official Images of MG Heavyarms

2011-11-15T06:14:00.000-08:00

From the two previous hobby shows. we've seen pictures of the long awaited Heavyarms, both in color and as a resin cast prototype... Now Bandai's released new official images regarding this kit

Oh yes, it has LOTS of good accessories and it's got the style. If Bandai was trying to save the best for last. Then this kit would pretty much describe it, though I got a few points worth saying here

1st, it looks like they reduced the number of the shoulder missile pods by two. Why they did it? could be to cut costs, but until someone get's a hand of this kit, we won't know
Well it looks like bandai got lazy on the combat knife add on... nothing a little paint should be unable to fix
Judging by the nub markings on that ammo belt, i looks like a similar case with the guntank from a few years back.
And finally, it looks like that Gatling gun MIGHT be able to rotate....

Well it seems Bandai's jacked up the price. A LOT I might add. though it would be worth it considering what we are getting here. time to save more then

Yen I bet you remember this picture:

Yeah, figuring out who the heck the ones on the middle and right was a no brainer. And now Bandai releases this:

And bandai treats us with not one, but TWO HGUC releases along with one MG to kick off the new year. Biggest difference with the banshee compared to unicorn 1 are the chest and it's weaponry, with the right sporting some long rifle (Could be a beam magnum) and the left hand sporting a massive claw.

Unicorn Fans will be pleased... better start saving

A taste of what's to come

2011-11-01T09:17:00.000-07:00

Well, I checked a particular Twitter feed and found this:
Bandai won't be holding back

Seems like Bandai won't be holding back with the next upcoming hobby expo.. as Seen in their twitter feed posts, two grabbed my attention... The first being a preview of the MG AGE 1 (Assuming due to PV) and the unveiling of a new SEED MG Kit at the expo.. the second one is the real interesting bit here. considering that we have one HD remastering coming up for the SEED line...... So who's the lucky MS getting the MG treatment?

Well it's pretty much assumptions only at this point, all we can do is wait for the expo. then We'll have answers.

as noted from GGInfinite, The Gunpla Expo World tour Japan will be held Nov 4 till nov 6 at the UDX Akiba Square

And MAC starts 2012 with a Bang!

2011-11-01T07:01:00.000-07:00

You know MAC right? No, if your thinking about that burger from Mcdonald's, your wrong. When I say MAC, I mean the Mech Arts Community forums. Arguably among the friendliest Gunpla hobby sites I know about.

Okay,so a few weeks or months ago, a few notable MAC members like Kamn and Sneeper decided to make this big contest for fun...... and so the 2012 Mecha contest was born

And trust me, these guys ain't makin this contest small either, We got lots of sponsors here like GGinfinite and Hobbymate AND This will be a worldwide event. Yes, you read right, a worldwide event, so....if you want to join in I've posted a link to where you can find the rules below

MG 1/100 Heavyarms EW with colors sighted

2011-10-14T06:12:00.000-07:00

Remember the prototype pictures of our friend Heavyarms? Well, bandai pulled a fast one again on us....

yeah, what you see now is a picture of the same Heavyarms kit, MG. Except it's now in full color with all it's gear (Including shield).

Few points worth noting bout it:

First thing, the missile pads on the shoulder look like they're one whole piece (Internal parts wit the missiles themselves anyway). So painting em will be a pain.
Next, seems that unlike the shoulder missiles, the ones on the leg and hips will be easier to paint as they are separate pieces.
Final note is that the one displayed with colors seems to lack the detachable knife.
on the good side though, looks like his signature weapon rotates. whenever it will have a motor like the kotobukiya gattling gun though... is a good question

That's all I can see for issues so far with this. now, onto the pics...

Heavyarms in all out assault mode (Most GW Fans will recognize this)

Note the diorama. can anybody guess the scene from Wing? (Pretty obvius) And I spy tons of 1/100 Leos getting Pwned. XD

MG 1/100 Heavyarms EW prototype sighted.

2011-10-13T07:03:00.000-07:00

Anybody remember the EW MG Line? so far, all but one of the 5 protagonist suits were released. Now I just saw these pics this morning. from the 51st All Japan Model Show from Bandai, can you guess the gundam/MS?

Yeah, pretty sure you guys could tell by 1st glance, It's the HEAVYARMS!! Finally, bandai gives us a prototype of the long awaited unit from Gundam Wing. And I'd have to say, this holds the most promise out of all the EW kits yet. Now for the bad news, it comes out next year. January to be exact, so start saving. If you loved this unit as a kid or when you first watched Gundam Wing, you know this is a must have :D.

Delta Plus WIP 4: Binders and weapons

2011-09-27T22:41:00.000-07:00

so here I have the last pieces to complete
the binders held me up as it was placed the wrong way and I noted it only after assembly of the binder, so I had to take the darn thing apart....

Here are the complete binders after an hour of trying to pick it apart and put it together, again.

Now onto the weaponry:

Here's the shield. placed one stripe of silver for detailing and did the sabers

And here at last is the beam Rifle. Comparing it to a ReZEL. It's he same thing. down to the mold and Assembly. I did a few silver touch ups to make it stand out from the Regular ReZEL Rifle. lost the gem on the scope though. :(...

So here's my work so far:

And as we speak, I am Decaling him right now. final post on this little pet project of mine will be the Delta Plus After Full Decals are applied. till then guys

Delta WIP 3: Main body

2011-09-16T11:23:00.000-07:00

part 3, so I tested Delta's ability to stand and kneel with the frame of the skirt armor, as seen below it stood pretty well.

decided to add some details on the skirt like so......

Aaaaand after a bit of fiddling and all that, I managed to finally assemble the Delta's Main body and I gotta say, I'm impressed with what it can pull off so far. Like most newer MG's, he has three parts on his legs that allow kneeling, and his shoulders are great. only thing bout the shoulder sis that you can only swing em forward (With the fact that a hinge connects the peg that holds the arm to the body and all)

Will get crackin on the last part: Binders and Weaponry :D

Delta Plus WIP 2: Legs

2011-09-10T22:18:00.000-07:00

So I got to work on the pistons. things were unpainted, so i introduced my markers and now you can see the results below. I liked the way they turned out.

Next we have the feet, nothing much. just a few highlights here and there

The Legs took the longest for me to build. you can see why in the photos below. took like 2 days.one for the detailing alone, 2nd being the assembly. core of the legs are symmetrical. must be due to the design.

okay, this was long overdue. I admit it, working on the delta made me forget my blog. expect part 3 in a while

Delta Plus WIP 1

2011-09-06T05:11:00.000-07:00

So I got to work on my Delta plus MG (Well this is overdue, LONG overdue) I assembled the Head and as for it's frame, I am impressed quite detailed...

Also managed to work on the torso of the unit, placed some details on the inner markings and learnt about how it transforms, very reminiscent of Zeta..

Also got to work on the arms, detailing em and the like

Guess what arrived? :D

2011-09-03T09:34:00.000-07:00

My Delta Plus kitt has finally arrived, Thanks to sir Zero Four for this. Anyway, I just gave the parts a runover and I'm about to start building this kit. wish me luck

Delta Plus Boxart and Release date Confirmed

2011-07-29T07:17:00.000-07:00

So Bandai has released the boxart of Delta Plus as it's release draws near. And I gotta say, It is Epic

art is based on it's trial by fire in episode 3 of Gundam unicorn during the Palau base assault. When Banagher escapes and Meets Ridhe Marcenas piloting the Delta Plus... nice use of the anime Bandai this is no disappointment.

Now for the release date. It will be released on August.........4th. Yes, the 4th. Get your money ready if you want one guys. Delta Plus is coming early...

Next RG is...... RG Freedom from Gundam SEED

2011-07-15T06:39:00.000-07:00

The RG Line is BANDAI's newst model line. all models are in 1/144 scale and feature designs similar to actual real world Machinery. From the Term Real itself, these nifty new model kits aim to give Gundams a realistic appearance. And so far they've done a terrific job.

With the latest RG being the Mass Production Zaku II (Seriously, I'm sure we all saw this coming) Bandai has released a promotional video for it.

You saw what's coming next right? For all the SEED Fans, REJOICE. for thew Freedom Gundam from Gundam SEED is coming out next.
