It's that time, it's Media Clash time, Volume 3, Episode 2.

I'm Wayne, as always, joined by...

And we're going to talk to you about some of the announcements that have come out in

the last week or so since you've last been graced with our presence.

The big thing that happened, we had San Diego Comic Con, which happened around the last

time we did an episode.

But the big thing was, D23, this week, well this past weekend, and they announced some

things going forward.

Like we said last time when we were talking about some stuff, that they were going to

save their Disney Plus stuff for D23.

If you love sequels, Disney's got you covered.

And again, I think, here's the thing, and I looked at this when I saw what they were

doing, what issues are they dealing with right now?

They are dealing with characters and designs going into the public domain.

So, the only way to keep that from happening, really, is you have to change things up, which

is why we're getting live action versions of all those old shows, because then you now

still own, so like the Snow White that comes out, they are going to own that copyright

for the next 90, 95 years.

So anything in that movie, that version of Snow White, is theirs until 90, 95 years from now.

The Steamboat Willie movie, I think, comes out next week.

And again, I could go into a whole diatribe of why I think, the ability to, I don't

understand, I don't get the ability for something to go into the public domain.

I don't agree with it, because what has Blood and Honey, this horror movie version of Steamboat

Willie, because I think I saw the trailer for that.

Yeah, there's that, the Bambi.

Like the Bambi, what does that add?

You're not adding anything to that copyright.

You're literally making money off of people going, oh, it's the horror version of, like

you could have made a horror version of that.

Like, the problem is you couldn't use those names.

And nobody's interested in your movie, your horror, your teddy bear murder movie, unless

it's called Winnie the Pooh.

Unless he's called Winnie the Pooh.

If it was like, Billy the, you know, brown bear, like nobody gave a shit about it.

But you had to, you're using that Winnie the Pooh name.

I don't know, the new craze in horror now is killer androids.

Oh, we have, I've not noticed that.

Well, I mean, AI is always going to be, like, next to Boogeyman, because now you have that

smart house movie.

The smart house movie already came out.

And then you have, you have a, um, the Megan Fox.

I haven't seen that.

I think Apple, Apple TV's doing a TV show about, uh, like a little Japanese house robot

that kind of goes nuts.

But all that's being put into the Megan crazy AI universe to where I'm thinking they're

going to all team up at one point.

Because why won't they?

So dumb.

Everybody wants to do their Avengers movie.

Well, I mean, it's, here's the problem.

And what we, what we, the same, the criticism people had of all the X-Men movies.

Like, you exist in a world where all these other characters exist, so they should be there.

It's not like DC where everything happens separately.

Like, Batman and Superman don't cross over that much.

You know, DC characters don't cross over that much.

Marvel characters, on the other hand, cross over all the time.

Yeah, because they're all in the same city.

Yeah.

That's what I don't think people understand, and they give it shit.

I'm like, no, this should be how it is.

Like, Spider-Man should run into Daredevil all the fucking time.

You know, the Punisher is always on Daredevil's fucking nerves.

You know, things like that.

Like, that is a thing.

But we never got it before, and now everybody's like, oh, everything's got to be pushing the

next thing.

Like, that's fucking how comic books work.

One comic book issue leads into the next.

It's an ongoing, continuing story.

There is no such thing as a truly one-off story that doesn't matter, unless it's labeled

What If or Elseworlds.

So, some of the non-Marvel stuff that got announced there was...

The live-action Snow White that everybody already tried to cancel.

What's crazy is they were playing...

So, originally, Peter Dinklage gave it shit.

So, it looks like they completely got rid of all those actors that were playing the dwarves.

Yeah, now it's like AI.

Now it's all, like, computer-animated dwarves, and it's like, all right, Peter, you want to

complain?

So, now no actors are playing the dwarves.

Actors got jobs.

Moana, too.

I'm okay with...

I liked Moana.

I'm okay with a sequel to that.

Next, the live-action Lilo and Stitch, because every cartoon now has to be live-action.

Yeah, but I want to see a live-action.

I want to see a fully visualized 3D Stitch.

Disney went in and changed a lot of shit from the original cartoon.

Yes, because they changed...

Was it before 9-11 or after 9-11?

They had to play the...

In what was released or whatever, it was a spaceship flying through and shit, but in

originally, it was an actual plane flying through a city, and they fucking changed that.

Like, there was a lot of stuff that they changed just because they do.

I mean, it's just like when we went and seen...

What the hell was the last movie we went and saw?

I don't remember, but the trailer for Captain America Brave New World was on it, and they

changed the edit of the trailer.

For what?

So, they no longer show Ezekiel taking shots at Ross in the trailer, because it was like

two weeks after that dude took a shot at dipshit, so they went and re-edited the trailer.

Yeah, I can see that.

But again, people are stupid, and they'll be like,

Oh, they're making light of it.

Like, no, asshole.

That's a storyline that's been around.

This kind of shit is in stories.

Incredibles 3 got announced.

Toy Story 5.

I do like the premise of Toy Story 5.

Because I know I saw one of the channels saying,

Oh, well, they could have done that in all of them.

There's video games that have been in all of them, but it's different.

You have little kids being entrenched with the cell phone.

Because clearly, the kid that Andy gave the toys to is on an iPad, and they're literally

staring at her from the bottom of the bed.

They moved around while she was there, and she's just that oblivious to it.

I think you could get a good story out of that.

Frozen 3, which is a given.

I'm not.

It makes too much money.

I have not seen the second one.

Zootopia 2.

I saw the first one.

I think the second one should be good.

Skeleton Crew, which we talked about Star Wars-wise.

Don't we miss the other Disney thing is the prequel for Lion King, which I think is going

The cloak he's wearing in the trailer is a magical artifact.

And from what rumors have said is

Sacha Baron Cohen is actually playing Mephisto in that show.

Because that cloak is a direct connection to-

The scripts for everything were pretty much done.

Borderlands came out this weekend,

bombed miserably, started off with a zero on Rotten Tomatoes,

slowly climbed up to nine.

But when it was all said and done,

only made less than 10 mil opening weekend domestically.

Made 8 million domestically.

I think another eight global.

Eight or 16.

I have to pull up exactly what the box office is right now.

Altogether, I think it's at 16.

If you count domestic and international.

Books will be written about how that movie was made in the nightmare

that it caused 10 different writers,

two or three different directors.

The movie was finished in 2018, 2019.

And then, of course, COVID happened.

And then they, I think after COVID,

they came back and reshot everything.

They brought on Elon Roth, Eli Roth.

No, it's at 15 million total internationally.

So domestically, it's saying it's, I guess, as of right now,

it's at 10 to internationally for seven.

And so worldwide of 14.

With a budget of 115 million dollars.

I mean, I guess that's what happens when you have to reshoot a shit ton of it.

Apparently the writing is so bad that the.

The guy, the first writer.

That used majority of the stuff in the movie from they want his name.

Taken off the credits.

He doesn't want nothing to do with the movie.

So I think they made up a fake name.

See, I love when people do that.

It's like, but like that one thing could like kill his career for the rest.

And so it's PG 13 for a very hard R video game.

So here's what I will say about video game adaptations into movies or television.

I haven't watched The Last of Us.

I have no interest in The Last of Us.

The first game.

I'm sorry.

I remember when the first game came out and it was shit.

Everybody complained about it.

It's like fucking Ellie can just goes and stands out in the middle of the fucking room.

And she doesn't follow you like she's supposed to.

But everyone remembers that fucking game with Rose tinted fucking glasses.

But The Last of Us TV show.

The fucking person who created The Last of Us.

Neil.

Is a fucking.

Neil Druckmann is a fucking executive producer.

He's fucking directing episode like he's involved in the show.

Here's the thing with the show.

I'm like you with the game.

I heard so much stuff about how amazing this game is.

I got up to Pittsburgh and I'm like I'm done.

This is the same shit over and over just different location.

I get it.

It's a great fucking story.

It's a great adventure.

You go the characters you you get to build and fall in love with the characters.

But my biggest issue with the TV show.

It's repetitive.

Well, yeah, the game is repetitive.

My biggest issue with the TV show is how good is the TV show when the only episode people talked about was the Nick Offerman episode from season one.

That episode overshadowed your entire first season.

I watch a small part of the game.

That's not even that's fucking flashbacks.

That's collectibles.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Like that's not like that's a tiny portion of the game.

That's if you don't go into this abandoned house and find the letter that his character wrote about how he left and what really happened to him when he left him and he became all alone.

I do say the TV show is very good.

Pascal is very good as Joel.

He's getting used to much himself.

Yes, he's reaching over saturation.

Because now he's in fucking commercials.

He's in Corona commercials.

So the whole thing with him and the Mandalorian was like he's on set in the costume in the helmet.
