LFW Day 3 Photo Diary

Day 3, the sun was up and played a big part in motivating me for the events of the day. As I mentioned in my last post, I had no important shows to attend, and the day was going to be all about street style.

Outside Mulberry. We troddled off to the Claridges Hotel where the Mulberry show was held and soon after we arrived, the streets were flooded with photographers, street style & press, and we knew some really important people would be walking in and out of the hotel doors. I spotted my style icon Olivia Palermo, and I remember thinking what a lucky girl I was...first Harry the day before, now Olivia...Only my two favourite people in the world! Ha! I went ahead and asked her for a picture, and she was so sweet! Her car had arrived and she needed to go, but she still stayed for a minute to chat and take pictures with Elodie and I! Possibly the highlight of my whole experience! (1-3)

Furry. These ladies were really rocking the fur at Somerset house! (3-5)

Outside Unique. The show was held at the Topshop Showspace in Billingsgate. Sandra (5inchAndUp) and her luscious locks. Olivia and an outfit change. So effortlessly chic. Rita Ora, who was sporting a red lip to match her Chanel bag, looked incredible. (7-10)

Another amazing day! A little sad I had to leave all the fun and return to Uni, but I enjoyed myself nonetheless. Now, time to face the books!

LFW Day 3's Outfit.

Day 3 for me was all about capturing Street Style. I had no important shows to attend, so I decided to just go with the flow and soak up the energy around. I went with a more laid back look as compared to the first, with these pair of riding pants and a shawl, but popped a bit of colour into the mix with this neon/floral shirt and a bold pinky/orange lip! Oh and can I just say, my love for American Apparel has gone through the roof, surely this is not good for one's pocket...

LFW Day 2's Outfit.

When the day came around, I was more than excited at what it would bring. I did plan a different outfit entirely, but because of a few issues with fitting I was unable to wear what I originally wanted to. This outfit was put together in 5 minutes, after a momentary minute of panic! I am soo glad I brought this skirt with me from Nottingham! It's such a beautiful piece, and I paired it with this woven shell jacket, and a simple black top. To play up the outfit even more, I accesorised it with these marvellous court shoes and brown bag. I kept my makeup simple and my hair was styled in milkmaid braids (a style I've been sporting a lot recently!).

I've always enjoyed the Street Style element of Fashion Week, so no surprise there that I took to the cobbles, camera in hand, in search for the stylish lot. I spotted quite a few trends, and here is one: Live in Colour. Vibrant yellows, bright pinks, cool blues and trusted greens. The mix of them all brought an exciting feel to the atmosphere.

Believe it or not, I was one of those people who swore would never buy disco pants, as I was afraid they would never look good on me. It was only after I tried them on in the store and felt how comfortable they were (not to mention, they did look very nice with the jumper I was wearing on the day!), that I had to man up, and buy a pair. Haha! To some they may seem like glorified leggings, and even if this is the case, I still think they look and feel better!

There's a lesson to be learned here...can't knock'em, till you try'em!

I've worn them every other day since I purchased them and gosh, they go with everything. Today I wore them with this stripy number, sported a vampy plum lip and threw on my Yeti for warmth's sake! And that extra bit of fur peeking out is actually my feather bag, one of my favourite bags, ever! :)

One's mind at ease

Back in the comfort of my flat and enjoying the wonderful feeling of my knit sweater that I left behind, and missed so much. Doing the usual Sunday ritual: Planning for the week ahead (Lecture preparations, emails and meetings etc.). iCal has really been a great help in doing so, and I can have everything synced with my iPhone in just a couple of seconds. Brilliant.

Also listening to good music. Some Amel Larrieux, Van Hunt & Sade is good for the soul. Keeps one's mind at ease.

My Birthday was on Thursday the 19th, and here's what I wore!

This shift dress in a beautiful apricot shade, styled to look like a top, and paired with leggings. I really wanted to shoot the outfit outside, but the rain would have soaked me! Ha! But I'm happy with the way they came out!

It was my first birthday being spent with my Mum in Two Years. My last two, I was away at University (My siblings made it up to Notts for my last one), and can you believe I always had exams around both? I'm so glad to have finished them in time to come home! Mummy got a little emotional sharing my birth story with me that morning, and I thought it was so cute. My mum is just so cute. Bless her.

We went for dinner and a movie, very simple and lowkey, but very special. We saw the Iron Lady, which my mum and I really enjoyed.

What I look for in the perfect white shirt : Clean, crisp lines. Every girl should have a basic white long-sleeve shirt as a staple in their wardrobe. It's clean, it's classic but still it remains modern. I can never get tired of buying them, along with black shoes. I guess I'm just a lover of the sheer nature of them.

Mellow Yellow

London at night is beautiful. I find myself on occasion, taking long strolls through the city as if I were visiting for the first time, getting lost in all the wonderful scenery and architecture. Lots to photograph for sure! I was born here, and I've known London all my life, but I feel like there are still places to be discovered, people to see, and great experiences to have...

I got this yellow dress from Topshop last week, so flowy, so silky, so lovely! I adore it.

Really loving the pops of colour at the moment. Getting quite tired of the greys and blacks, although I'm not too sure how long this is going to last... We'll see.

The Festive Frock

This is my beloved Red dress, which I've had for almost a year, and I've been keeping it safe until the right day came around... and it's here!! I named it The Festive Frock, because of it's vibrant red colour that is synonymous with the holiday season! Paired with this cream blazer and wedges, and accessorised with some gold jewellery, I thought it perfect for the Christmas Day celebrations! I'll be spending the morning opening gifts with my family, then off to my Aunt's house for more food, laughs and banter with my extended family! Looking forward to it! :)

My Mystic Turquoise Coat

With the sunset dusting the atmosphere, exuding a surreal feel, this made for a perfect backdrop to shoot my new Mystic Turquoise Coat. The weather was beautiful. It wasn't too cold, and it wasn't too warm. It was just right. This coat has everything I look for in a coat. The classic style, the simple cut, and above all, the colour. Nothing like a bit of colour to brighten up your winter wardrobe.

BEAUTY BASICS | Eyebrows

Eyebrows. They totally frame the face. I happen to be very particular about my eyebrows, and if they aren't in a good state, I get in a strop! I get mine professionally threaded at a local Brow Bar, and these can be found everywhere, from malls to beauty salons! I'd definitely recommend this method of grooming, because it leaves the brows looking clean and perfect. If you like doing your eyebrows yourself, I'd advice you to first allow a professional to thread them, so you can have a guide of how your eyebrows should look, then if you want, you can just pluck the new growth yourself in between visits to the professional.

Here's my rough guide on how your eyebrows should be shaped if you are going to shape them yourself (By either threading, waxing, shaving, filling etc..)!

In the Tutorial, I show you how I achieve my ideal shape, by filling in the gaps and perfecting the area around the brows! Enjoy! :)

A Jeans & Tee kind of day!

Oh these Chelsea boots have seen thick and thin with me! They have become so battered and bruised, and that's because I wore them almost everyday last semester! But they are so comfy! I was off out to see my friends today, and to do the last bit of Christmas shopping I'd been procrastinating about since Friday! I wanted to be practically dressed, so I pulled on a pair of jeans and a simple burgundy tee (layered underneath ofcourse!). I decided to accessorise the outfit with my gold chain necklace and a bangle, and to keep warm, I opted for my beloved trench! :)

How have you guys been with the shopping these season? I don't know, but I have been so clueless as to what to get people, and I am not even sure what I want this Christmas!! Haha! I guess being around loved ones is all that really matters (but some cash in my Christmas cards ought to go a long way LOL!).

BEAUTY BASICS | Simple Daytime Smokey Eye

A look I often sport. It's simple, and I'm sure everyone can have a go! All that is required is the right blending technique, a little smudged smoky layer, and you're good. If you want, you can amp it up by increasing the black on the outer corner or even add more liner to the lower lash line to make it even more smokier...it's up to you!

Hi! :)

I don't know why it seems like ages since I last posted and outfit (Only Last Sunday). I guess because it's been a while since I shot outside! Hmmm.

I decided to wear my metallic jumper today! It's one of my favourite pieces! Don't be fooled, I know it looks like i'm not dressed for the bitterly cold weather we're having in London at the moment, but I have two layers underneath the jumper, and I was without my (very lovely furry) coat briefly, to shoot this! Oh and can you believe these boots where only £20? ...Forever 21, you have my heart! Haha!

I know there may be a few questions about my new hairstyle, hehe! I had extensions (Virgin Peruvian Hair) sewn in yesterday! You know me, I get bored of my hair easily, and I constantly switch it up! A review and more info about the style will be up soon!

I believe that two people can walk into a room dressed in the same clothing, but what may separate them with regards to their style, lies in the details. And the details are in the accessory. With accesories one can become really creative and they can allow their style and personality to show through.

As you've noticed I've been going gaga over the past few weeks with my accessory buying and every time I come across a new piece that I feel speaks to me, or a new accessory store, I get very excited!

I'd like to share with you a new favourite of mine... Boticca.

It is just pure brilliance.

It's a marketplace of unique accessories, made by emerging fashion designers from all over the world.

Every piece has a story, and every story is told by it's designer.

While browsing excitedly through their website I came across some amazing pieces, and I fell in love with this intriguing looking clutch (The V Clutch in Flame), designed by Dareen Hakim from New York. Originally from Beirut, Lebanon she "grew up surrounded by a vibrant culture filled with the richness of history and the beauty of modernity. Her inspirations reflect these intriguing contrasts and dimensions, bringing together the chic elegance of today with the flavors of the ancient, the rustic and the authentic." I love her work.

Here's another piece I really love, the Feather Bracelet designed by Leila Kashanipour from London. You know me, I'm one for the simple, yet statement piece, and this one really is the definition of that. Gorgeous.

I Crave Paris

I was inspired by the Classic Parisian chic look, and so I put this outfit together! I found this beautiful Polka Dot Gem at the Clothes show (I'm in love with Polka Dots, as you probably already know!) and thought it went quite well with my black pencil skirt and beret! :)

Too keep warm I'll be opting for my Beige Trench, a scarf and gloves! It's gotten so cold! Haha! We're definitely in Winter!

Little Jewellery Tree

I wanted to show you this lovely Jewellery Holder I purchased the other day from Paper Chase. It's like a little tree, and it holds my necklaces nicely! It also comes in Berry Pink and Silver, and it was only £8.75! I just love it! It could also serve as a cute gift this Christmas, don't you think?

Also, here are a few new pieces I've bought recently. The first necklace is from Topshop (£10), the second necklace and wired bangle are from a stall at the Clothes Show which I attended on Friday (£3 each), and the amazing silver bangle is from Urban Outfitters (£7)!

I'm looking for more ways to store my collection of jewellery pieces, how do you store yours? I'd love to know! :)
