Where to get acute experience?

Hi everyone. I'm Minji. I have a few years experience working at snfs, but I would really prefer to work in an acute setting. I hear about North Dakota -- relocation assistance, signing bonuses -- but I am curious about other places. Does anyone know how I can learn about this sort of thing? Is there a good website that lists these sorts of opportunities? I'm willing to move for a good job and good experience, but I am not sure where. Thanks in advance!

Anyone with travel experience as a Cath Lab nurse? I am thinking about getting out of the cold weather and trying something new....Any ideas???

Nurse turned Coach

Hi there! I just wanted to introduce myself to the nurse connect group. I worked in psychiatry for five years. I then worked in community nursing and preventative care. I also have worked in a health and wellness center running a physician referred exercise program. I became a health and wellness coach and started my own coaching business. I now coach nurses who are stressed and overwhelmed to create space for balance and self-care in their lives. I still work part-time in clinical nursing research and right now am doing a study using coaching as the intervention! I would love to connect and I want to meet as many nurses as I can so I can share my story and what I have to offer!!

public health nurse or community nurse interview

I am going to school and I need to interview a Public Health Nurse or Community nurse. I can do it by email. Is anyone interested? I am running out of time. Please let me know ASAP and I can email the questions to you.Just make a few phone calls to a local community health center. Someone will talk to you. Or call your local public health office. Please don't take the easy way out and email someone! That is not a true interview. You will get so much more out of talking with a nursing professional. You won't be sorry.

Sterile Gloves

I'm a male nursing student with large hands and am having trouble locating sterile gloves that are a size 10 or 11. Does anybody know of a source for large gloves? Difficult to perform sterile procedures when you can't move your fingers.

Associate's degree

I'm planning on going back to school to get my associate's degree in nursing. Back in 1989 in the fall I started my pursuit in nursing from a community college. I had to take all my general and basic subjects. By the time that I was almost done taking those courses I was going to see about going to the school of nursing and found out that there was a 3 year waiting list and I even checked other colleges at the time and it was the same situation. So I decided to change majors and went into marketing and got my associate's degree in marketing. I got that degree in 1995. Since then I was unable to get anything decent job wise. Now that I'm 40 years old and the economy is so bad that there are not any good paying jobs because companies are just not hiring and if there are any jobs out there that it only pays anywhere between 8 to 10 dollars an hour and that is not what I want. So I have done some very through thinking and I'm really reconsidering going back into nursing and this time stick with it.

My question is will I be able to land a good paying RN job with just an Associates Degree or do I have to get a Bachelor's Degree to get into the nursing field? I definately want to be a RN and not a STNA nor PN. I just want to throughly explore my options before I make a decision. I'm thinking of either being a clinical nurse, neonatal, labor and delivery,or just a staff nurse at a hospital. I'm not quite sure what my decision is as far as specialty is concerned. I would greatly appreciate any kind of help and guidance. I know that I want to be a nurse because I have the gift of wanting to help people. I've even help someone who lives across the street from me who has MS and get to help his aid move him around to his wheelchair. My fiance just recently had foot surgery and I'm nursing him back to health 24/7. On top of that I keep track of his doctor and other appointments and he has really encouraged me to become a nurse because I have the temperment for it.

You can definitely get a good job as an ADN but in some areas of the country it is getting tougher. Some states require a minimum of a BSN and if the labor market is tight employers will tend to choose the BSN over the ADN. You should be able to find something if your flexible and able to travel - then I would get the bridge to BSN as you're working

Veterans Hospital Interest

I am an experienced nurse applying to VA hospital Houston Texas with no responses

I am qualified just not getting any responses from my applications. Has anyone recently

applied with any VA facility and had success getting hired. I would like their insight.
