Plot

Plot

The events take place in 1999. The end of the world is fast approaching as superhuman individuals gather and take sides in the city of Tokyo, the battle site of Armageddon. The key player in this day of reckoning is Kamui Shiro, a young man who returns home to Tokyo after a six-year absence to protect those dearest to him, Kotori and Fuma Monou, and fulfill his mother's dying wish.

Unbeknownst to the three friends, Kamui and Fuma are destined to fight each other during the end of the world. The first half of the series focuses on the gathering of the soldiers in the final battle and culminates with Kotori's death at the hands of her brother Fuma, sealing Kamui's choice as the protector of mankind and Fuma's place as his foil. The second half follows Kamui as he grows into his role as savior while the world moves along toward its inevitable destruction.

The story is Kamui's heroic journey, where the narrative places an emphasis on his choices and how they affect the world around him as he attempts to reconcile his dual destinies.

Manga

X started serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Asuka on May 1992. Publishing the series proved troublesome on account of its subject matter. As the series portrays earthquakes as a sign of the end times, the motif became a point of contention after the Great Hanshin earthquake of 1995. Following letters from concerned readers, the manga was temporarily pulled from Kadokawa's magazine. After the murder of eleven year old Jun Hase in 1997, the attention shifted to X's gruesome imagery and the series was pulled once again.

Serialization stopped in March 2003. The editors of Monthly Asuka were concerned with the increasingly violent stories and, rather than censoring themselves, the artists opted for a hiatus. Columnist John Oppliger, however, is of the persuasion the members of Clamp do not have a clear ending in mind and, contractual obligations notwithstanding, the rumored dispute should not impede publishing the remaining chapters.

The series is divided into seven story arc: "The Beginning" (嚆矢 Kōshi), "The Seven Stars" (七曜 Shichiyō^?), "The Holy Sword" (神剣 Shinken^?), "Kamui" (神威^?), "The Dreamgazer" (夢見Yumemi^?), "Kekkai" (結界^?) and "The End" (終末 Shūmatsu^?), starting in volume seventeen. Volumes five through seventeen of the Japanese release include short stories detailing the individual backgrounds of the Dragons of Heaven and Earth.

On September 26, 2006, Kadokawa Shoten published Clamp Newtype Platinum, a special Clamp edition of Newtype Magazine. The issue includes the "X 18.5" supplement, a re-print of five previously uncollected chapters. The series is expected to reach twenty-one volumes upon completion.

The North American version of the manga, retitled X/1999, was serialized in Viz Media's Animerica Extra and released in graphic novel form under the Shōjo imprint. Chuang Yi handles distribution of the English language version in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. The series has also been translated into Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Polish and Spanish.

Actually I own VCD Japanese version with english subtitile and has encrypted code so you couldn't save it in the harddrive. You got know during those time pirate vcd all over in Asia. It's really a good movie if you like humanity struggle between good and evil. It's a bit complicated film best if you have someone who is older to explain to you. I did that when I was a teenage at that time. It's a bit Boy's Love to a certain viewers.

There is Manga/Comics version which the ending is different from the movie version. Trust me, I own both of them. After 1996, I got depression, so this manga actually help me pass over the time. It's a life saver that why I am still a CLAMP fan. During those time, their drawing one of the best in Asia. Even now they are still producing one of the best drawing. Plot

A woman named Joo-Yun (Oh San-Ha) is stranded in her broken down car on a snowy night. She talks to her fiance on her cellphone while she awaits for a tow truck. Her fiance is So-Hyun (Lee Byung-Hun), an agent for the National Intelligence Service.

'The Beaver' Trailer

The Beaver is an upcoming comedy film based on an original script by screenwriter Kyle Killen. The film is directed by Jodie Foster and stars Mel Gibson, Anton Yelchin, and Jodie Foster. The Beaver follows a depressed CEO of a toy company (Gibson) who dons a beaver handpuppet to better communicate with his wife (Foster) and his two sons (Yelchin, Riley Thomas Stewart). The script by Killen topped the 2008 Blacklist, a ranking of the best unproduced screenplays. Brendon Connelly of SlashFilm called the screenplay "one of the few very best screenplays [he has] ever read."

On July 29, 2010, MTV.com reported that the film is "currently in a holding pattern" with release date set December 24, 2010 given the public controversy over leaked audio of private phone messages Gibson sent to his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. In an interview with The Daily Beast in July, Killen said that he did not know if or when the film will be released, while saying he's "eager... to find out".

Jim Carrey's Gay Movie May Actually Come Out Trailer

In I Love You Phillip Morris, Jim Carrey plays a gay con man who falls in love with his prison cellmate (Ewan McGregor). Oddly, the film had been shelved indefinitely, but now might hit theaters this summer.

Written by Bad Santa screenwriters Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the film is a dark dramedy based on the true story of Steven Jay Russell (Carrey) who gets sent to prison for insurance fraud, and subsequently falls in love with his cellmate (McGregor). Already released in Europe and Taiwan, the critical reception has been positive. However, for some reason, its status of a release date in America has been shaky, being bumped from March to April to indefinite, and now possibly at the end of July. With straight actors playing gay roles being such a trend (and Oscar bait), it's puzzling that the film has been struggling to find its place in U.S. theaters. Maybe it could be that Jim Carrey's interpretation of a gay man falls right in the middle of his range as Ace Ventura and Liar Liar, which could confuse American audiences who've weirdly come to equate gay men as tragic (Brokeback Mountain, Milk, etc.) rather than funny.

Supernatural Now in Anime Teaser Trailer

The official Japanese website for the Supernatural the Animation project is now streaming a 34-second teaser trailer. (In the linked page, select the "Trailer" icon on the righthand side.) The acclaimed anime studio MADHOUSE (Death Note, Paprika, Vampire Hunter D, Summer Wars) is producing the previously announced 22-episode anime for Warner Brothers. Shigeyuki Miya (Lupin III: Green vs Red, Aoi Bungaku Series, Buzzer Beater) and Atsuko Ishizuka (Aoi Bungaku Series) are co-directing the project. Warner Home Video will ship Supernatural the Animation on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan in two boxes on January 12 and April 6, 2011.

The original live-action series follows the Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) as they hunt creatures and other supernatural phenomena across the American landscape. The series premiered on The WB network in the United States in 2005, and it will enter its sixth season on The WB´s replacement network, The CW, this fall.
