Amanda and Danny, what can I say.. over the past year this sweet couple has become very dear to me. We first got together for a portrait session in Old Town Alexandria (over here!). Since then, I've been able to photograph them again for their save the date session, and a little one-on-one with Amanda for a special boudoir session (an awesome gift to her hubby!). So naturally, when the time came to be with them for their 'Take Two' wedding day, it was pure magic! We all were so comfortable with one another, and they were so excited to recapture their vows. The ceremony and reception were both at The Winery at Bull Run and it could not have been a more GORGEOUS October day.

Danny had no idea what Amanda and I had been up to for his wedding gift :)

chelsey + alex | marriott ranch

Like many of my weddings this year, the forecast called for gloomy skies and rain the day of Chelsey's and Alex's big day. No matter the weather, the Marriott Ranch is gorgeous. The architectural details of the inn and the beautiful way the tent was decorated helped make their wedding day perfect! So perfect, it was hard for me to narrow down my favorite pictures for this blog post, so enjoy this long one (because I included them all).

The bridal gown and the bridesmaids gowns come from Anthropologie's gorgeous vintage-inspired sister collection, BHLDN. Chelsey's headpiece and apollo bracelet are from their line as well.

The decor was amazing. They opted for a vintage prohibition-era decor; the huge feathers they used for centerpieces were perfect!

These two first met at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Had to get a group shot of all the alumni that traveled to celebrate their wedding day.

I loved seeing the Owens family again for fall pictures! I cannot believe it's been a year since we last got together for Jack's newborn pictures. He has grown up so much and is still such a handsome little man! The rain messed up scheduling for mini sessions, but I was so happy because I loved shooting at the Mosby Museum and visitor center in Warrenton!

Announcing: 2013 Fall Mini Sessions

Exciting news on the blog today!! I've released my fall mini session dates and the fantastic package price! The dates are good for two weekends, October 5th and 6th and also October 12th and 13th. I decided to go ahead and give a few options for the amazing deal so you will definitely be able to find a day and time that works for your family!

The locations will be either Silver Lake Park in Haymarket or Bull Run Park in Centreville and the times are morning and evenings.. make sure to email me with your preferred date and time soon as the spots are filling up quickly! The price is $150 and includes the 30 minute session (*up to 5 people, small fee for additional family) and the disk with 25-30 high resolution images and the rights!

I'm looking forward to seeing all my past clients, and to meeting new ones! Snag this deal before it's too late :)

Alexis | Warrenton, Virginia Newborn Photography

A few days after first meeting Alexis during her hospital session (over here) I got to spend some more time with her during her newborn session! I love when I have clients who decide to book baby's first year packages because I get to see this sweetie again real soon! Alexis was such a sweetheart and gave me lots of opportunities to photograph her both while awake and sleeping, here are a few of my favorites.

Alexis | Fauquier County Hospital Newborn Session

It happens to every photographer, you get behind on sessions and editing and the first thing to go on the back-burner is blogging sessions. But finally, I have a few moments to breathe and sit back to get some of these amazing sessions posted!

Suzanna is a mom! I still can't believe it, just the other day she was starting as our sitter and now.. she has a little girl of her own to love on! I know she's an amazing mom, I saw her motherly instincts in action while she lovingly cared for Hayden. I was so glad I was able to take some pictures of those fleeting moments while she was in the hospital. They really fly by in an instant, looking back on my delivery, I wish I had taken more pictures! Rather, hired someone to come take pictures (I hadn't started my business). She delivered Alexis at the same hospital I delivered my son (and soon, my daughter) and I cannot say enough positive words about the experience at Fauquier County Hospital. You labor, deliver and recover in the same room.. so you spend lots of time within the same 4 walls!

I converted these all to a creamy black and white, if you've ever been in a hospital those florescent lights are harsh!

Andria and Matt | Old House Vineyards Culpeper, VA

I've waited a few weeks to share Matt and Andria's beautiful ceremony at Old House Vineyards in Culpeper, Virginia so they could share their exciting news with their friends and family. The McKean's had plans to elope in Paris, however, still wanted to document their wedding vows here in the states. (You may, or may not know if you plan to elope or get married outside of the United States you still are required to take your vows here) As you will see in the pictures a storm was brewing but we were able to squeeze in their ceremony and some stunning pictures with just minutes to spare before the skies opened up.

If you have not visited Old House Vineyards.. GO! It is an absolutely breathtaking vineyard, with some amazing wine.. which I will confirm post-pregnancy :)

This next series of pictures need their own little story! Old House Vineyards has a wedding island where the majority of their ceremonies are held. They have incorporated the ritual that many are familiar with that takes place at the, Ponte Milvio Bridge in Rome, where loved ones lock a padlock on the bridge and throw their keys in the River. Matt and Andria incorporated this tradition and placed a padlock on the Love Lock chains on the dock and threw the key into the pond celebrating their undying love for one another. Such a neat tradition to be able to incorporate into your wedding day!

Matt and Andria, it was an honor to capture your ceremony and I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip and elopement in Paris. Two memories I'm sure you won't soon forget! Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness.

Violet's Newborn Session | Centreville, Virginia

This will likely be my longest blog to date! I honestly tried so very hard to pick my absolute favorites from this sweet newborn session.. that sure was hard! I found myself squealing with excitement as I edited these pictures, little Violet is just that sweet! And her mom and dad, naturals! I say this over and over but it truly is an honor when friends ask me to photograph their special moments. It's so easy to just pick up from where we left off and slip so naturally into old friendships. Allison and Joe's maternity session (found here) was just as sweet. I was excited to hear that she arrived a little earlier then planned because I couldn't wait to get my hands on her :) Here's an overload of favorites from our time together.. cannot wait to watch her grow this next year!

Jayden, Newborn | Catlett, Virginia

I love this part of my job.. holding and snuggling new babes! This session was not any different, it was such a joy to capture Alyssa and Sam during their maternity session (found here). Their baby boy, Jayden, was amazing! Like most newborns.. he loved being snuggled so we got lots of wide eye pictures when we tried to lay him down. These tiny newborn moments go by so quickly and I know mom and dad were happy to capture them!

A very special Gender Reveal | Warrenton, Virginia

I have a very exciting announcement here at Megan Ann Photography, this November 29th we are expecting a baby girl! We are over the moon excited that our son will become a big brother, and we just know he is going to be an amazing one!

Baby's first birthday is a huge milestone for everyone, so it's only right to throw them a huge bash celebrating that first year (also to celebrate that you survived it!). Kristen and I went to school together growing up so it was extra-special and quite an honor to capture Rylan's first birthday party. Love and Adventure was what Jennifer and Andrew had inscribed on their wedding bands, and it describes this sweet couple perfectly! They have fond memories of the first 'I love you' and of Andrew's proposal. So it was only fitting these two were married at a beautiful venue, Blue Rock Inn, nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains. Jennifer and I spent the week texting the weather forecasts for their wedding day, and mother nature sure did pull through! It was a windy day, however the rain held out. It was sure hard to narrow it down, but here are a few favorites from their wedding day!

Black Horse Inn | Wedding

I love photographing weddings, big or small it is an amazing honor to be asked to be a part of such a special day. Mike and Cindy's wedding day was so simple, so perfect, so them! It was a beautiful (unseasonably warm!) December day at the Black Horse Inn in Warrenton, Virginia. My first time photographing there, and hopefully not my last! This lovely couple was referred to me by their wedding officiant (and friend) Rose Marie Dorer and it was our 4th wedding together.

The flowers, boutonniere and cake were all provided for their special day by the Black Horse Inn! Cindy raved about how wonderful Lynne made their day.

I remember going on field trips with Emily in elementary school; she has such a kind and caring soul, and always has a big infectious smile on her face. Preston, I didn't meet till later in high school, he was the funny guy in class, athletic and outgoing. It was no surprise to me when these two got married, their personalities match each other perfectly. When Emily first had her baby boy, (shortly after I had mine) we reconnected after years of just keeping in touch on facebook, and boy am I glad! It was an honor to be asked to take some family pictures for them while they were visiting family during the holidays. It was great to finally see Preston and Emily again after many years (more then I'd like to count!) and to get to meet their precious baby boy. We were so lucky to catch some of the colorful fall leaves and our session timed perfectly with a beautiful sunset!

Preston and Emily, you have such a beautiful son and are amazing together! It was great catching up and hopefully our next visit will be a little longer then an afternoon!!

I love Old Town Alexandria, you can walk just a block and get a completely different feel for your session! So I was extremely excited when Amanda suggested and agreed to this location! Let me tell you, this couple is SO in love. And I literally couldn't get enough of it! Amanda and I bounced a lot of ideas of 'poses' and such for the session but they were naturals!

He seriously asked her to dance right in the middle of the street, heart melting!

Let me start by saying, I love this family! David worked with Jamey when he and I first met. And I loved everything about her, she is driven, beautiful, funny and intelligent! Dave and Carrie are my Mom's neighbors, and the sweetest couple you could ever meet! They are getting married in Utah in a few months and wanted to get some couple pictures but also seasonal family pictures! They picked the lovely locations and the kiddos were so great despite the cold weather (and multiple outfit changes!). I enjoyed and laughed with this family for almost 2 hours and it was totally worth it to snag the gorgeous sunset images on top of a hill at a nearby farm in Warrenton.

Dave and Carrie, your love for each other was apparent in every image I captured of the two of you! I wish you all the best in life and look forward to taking many more pictures for you!

Valdez Family

This session was a referral from the wonderful Jessica Tapscott and we were able to book on short notice! Unfortunate circumstances brought this entire family together as they celebrated the life of their Grandfather. An honorable man who served this great country, was laid to rest at Arlington Cemetary with full military honors. Kathryn decided it would be a great opportunity to create some positive memories during their visit, while they were all together.
