<p style="text-align: center;">I recently had a request for a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pac-Man">Pac-Man</a> cake for an 80&#8242;s party. Yes! I listened to 80s music while I made this cake, and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-MONIvP6kI">Pac-Man Fever</a> was part of the playlist. As I made the ghosts, they all seemed to have their own personalities. Do you remember their names? (Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde) This cake brought back memories of playing Pac-Man and watching the <a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2t421_pac-man-super-ghosts_fun#.UU-WjVcqiSo">Pac-Man cartoon</a> on Saturday mornings. This was one of my favorite cakes to make!! However, I have to admit it was like a high school geometry quiz when I was trying to figure out where to put all the maze lines and pellets on the cake.</p>

<p>My friends at <a href="http://www.mazola.com/">Mazola</a> recently sent me a bottle of corn oil to sample. I frequently use canola oil in my baking and was intrigued by the idea of using an alternative. Check out these facts <a href="http://www.mazola.com/">Mazola</a> shared with me:</p>
<p><em>For those looking for ways to be kind to their heart, corn oil is a great option because it contains plant sterols. These nutrients help reduce the body&#8217;s cholesterol absorption, and corn oil, contains the highest amount of naturally occurring plant sterols per serving. In fact, corn oil contains four times as many sterols as olive oil and 40 percent more than canola oil!</em></p>
<p>I found a recipe for <a href="http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1610,153170-224203,00.html">Mazola Corn Oil Cookies</a>, and decided to try it! I added chocolate chips and M&amp;Ms for a little extra fun! These cookies were easy to make and quite tasty. The cookie dough tasted so amazing that I had a hard time not taste testing over and over again.  I have to admit that the corn oil worked just as well as canola oil in a cookie recipe. I am anxious to try the corn oil in some more baked treat recipes.</p>

Finding sweet treats on my doorstep for me to try is not a bad gig at all! Most recently, I was welcomed home with a beautiful red velvet cake. It looked and smelled amazing, and it was hard for me not to taste test it until after dinner. I am a frosting lover and that cream cheese frosting was just calling my name.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">I couldn&#8217;t wait to cut into this alluring cake! I tasted the frosting first, and it melted in my mouth. Simply amazing! The cake tasted wonderful, but was a little bit dry. This might have been my fault. The cake came packed in dry ice, and the instructions said to let it thaw for 3 hours and then store in the refrigerator. It was already somewhat thawed when I opened it, but I left it on the counter. I am thinking it might have been more moist if I had put it in the refrigerator right away. Overall, it was a tasty cake!</p>

The other night I was looking some more Funfetti inspiration, and I came across this recipe for <a href="http://www.the-not-so-desperate-chef-wife.com/2012/11/funfetti-fudge.html">Funfetti Fudge</a> on <a href="http://www.the-not-so-desperate-chef-wife.com/2012/11/funfetti-fudge.html">The Not So Desperate Chef Wife blog</a>. It was literally 9:30 at night, and I hopped off the couch right away to make it. It took no time at all to whip up this recipe, and the fudge is heavenly!!! It tastes a little like cookie dough, a little like frosting, and a little like cake! In my friend Laura&#8217;s words&#8230;&#8221;It is legit!&#8221;</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Funfetti Cake Batter Fudge</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<ul class=“ingredients”>
<li style="text-align: center;">1 box Funfetti cake mix</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">2 cups powdered sugar</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">1/2 cup milk</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">1/2 cup of butter (1 stick), cut into cubes</li>
<li style="text-align: center;">Sprinkles</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Directions</strong><br />
1. Add cake mix and powdered sugar to a large microwave-safe bowl and mix together.<br />
2. Add the stick of butter and pour the milk into the cake/sugar mix.<br />
3. Microwave for 2 minutes<br />
4. Stir the mixture immediately until combined<br />
5. Pour mixture into a greased (I used baking spray) 9&#215;9 glass dish<br />
6. Sprinkle with SPRINKLES!<br />
7. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.<br />
8. Cut into bite-sized pieces, share, and enjoy!</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Fire Crackers</h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 lb unsalted saltine crackers (4 sleeves)</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 cup canola oil</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1 (1 ounce) packet ranch dressing mix</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">1/2 teaspoon garlic powder<strong></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Directions:</strong><br />
1. Line crackers on ends (like dominoes) in an air-tight container.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">2. In a small bowl, mix oil, dressing mix, peppers, and garlic powder</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">3. Stir until all ingredients are well mixed.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">4. Continue to stir to prevent the pepper from settling on the bottom of the bowl.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">5. Spoon mixture evenly over crackers, like drizzling icing on a cake.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">6. Close lid tightly and flip the container over every 5 minutes for about 20 minutes. Lightly shake back and forth to make sure all the crackers are coated.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">7. Store in a ziploc bag. The crackers will keep for about a week.</p>
