Jubilee weekend was such a busy one for me, I attended a lastminute.com wedding which I had 2 hours to go back home and get ready and be at the restaurant by 6, unfortunatly because of the road closures I couldn't even get home, so me and my bf drove to brixton's Morley and took 15min to choose our outfits!!! What a rush, but we found it!!! Love everything a bought, well bf bought!! :D

40min to do my hair and makeup (without any brushes, good old technique.. Finger tips to apply and blend)

Coloured concealers and primers..what are they for?

Right...so I'm a pretty forgetful person my memory is like a fish!! I always get confused with all these different coloured concealers/ primers and never remember the purpose of the colour correctors. So I've created this post to remind me of what each corrector is for and for me also to share with you what I know so I hope this will be useful information for those who struggle like me to remember or just don't really have a clue why there's so many different coloured concealers and primers!

Coloured concealers/primers? What to do with them!!

Greens – for red tones on the skin e.g spots, blemishes.

Yellows – Covers brown tones, such as age spots.

Peach/ Apricot/ Salmon/ Orange kind of colours - Cancels out blue, so great for dark under eyes or veins.

Purple/ Lavender - concealers/primers illuminates yellow undertones and helps brighten dull skin best to cover yellow bruises and sallowness in the skin. (On bronze skin tones it is good for dark spots and under eye circles – giving you a glowing complexion.)

So which colour to use on which skin problem?

Those who suffer from dark shadows, under eye circles, veins? Use anything with a yellow (apricot, salmon, orange) base it fights the blues. (TIP: to reduce sallow eyes find two spoons, make sure they’re pretty cool and place them under your eyes for a few secs – it does a good job!)

Want to cover a tattoo for a special occasion or just want to hide it? Then opt for yellow bases or find the perfect skin tone match - use something that’s waterproof and heavy duty.

If your skin is feeling fatigue, sallow, and you suffer from yellow complexions? The use a lavender coloured primer, this helps fill in any (fine) lines and even out skin tones for a bright and dewy glow. (TIP: You can either apply the primer/concealer first to the area or whole face or mix it with your foundation – both technique works wonders.)

Dark (aging) spots, Acne scars? Shouting for some yellow loving! (Tip: pat and layer using fingertips the warmth will help it sit on the skin nicely then cover with a skin tone match concealer (if needed - this is optional) then foundation all over - make sure not to rub otherwise those steps would be pointless.)

Got a bruise? A fresh bruise (yellow, brown in colour) needs some lavender concealer. Red tone bruises can be covered with a green concealer.

Suffer from Acne, red blotchiness, rosacea? Green concealers will help dissolve the the redness in the skin (TIP: pat and layer with fingertips) be careful when layering as too much may attract unnecessary attention to the area.

Bright eyes and blending colours

I was inspired by Asian Wedding makeup how bright and bold colours are used confidently to express the outfit and jewelry. It's essential to pick colours from the material that complement the pieces. Last night I decided to experiment by mixing some colours together to create a dramatic yet soft eye. Mixing shades and adding contrasting colours draw attention to the eye, by blending it softens and creates an elegant and seductive look. I also used bottom eyelashes to enhance my eyes (tricky application but once you get the hang of it its easy! however it didn't feel to comfortable!)

This weekend I had the lovely Coco model for me :) she was great and worked every single look. Also stylist Rachel Tsang did an amazing job with clothing and accessorize. Woah.. After a long week at work I managed to still keep up the hard work and focused on my MUA work over the weekend. The photographer had a cool water concept and a geisha/rocky edgy style which was pretty cool, different from all the things I've done already. My New Cleanser..Garnier's Exfo-Brusher Wash!!

So I was introduced to this Garnier face wash by my good friend and yes I have now been converted, this has now replaced my as my daily cleanser.

Reasons why I love it 1. The bristles help gentle exfoliate removing any dead skin cells/makeup that my wipes did not remove and just generally buffing my skin. (I like to say it's kinda like the Clarisonic but a manual one lol and cheaper) 2. The gel turns into a form once applying it to the skin in circular movements with the brusher, it leaves a fresh cooling sensation after washing - give you that clean feeling 3. The skin generally gets worse after using for a few days but thats because its lifting the dirt/pores to the surface layer and then after a week or so my skin has turned smoother, more glowing and pores and marks are less obvious.

I've been quiet a busy bee lately, planning photo shoots building and collecting ideas for my portfolio as a variety of styles and genres are a must to show versatility. it's important to show a range and skills as mentioned by Nicci Jackson (my mentor from MUSE School) at least 10 different shots are needed before I can approach agencies and try to assist other top MUA, so for now its just practice and self learning.

Over the weekend I did my first location shoot with my lovely friend Jennifer Chan, We did some Fashion, Beauty and Glamour shots, Here are some images :) Hope you like them.

This is the first time I've ever dressed up for halloween, was very excited and fun! I also helped do two of my friends makeup too :) Black Swan and Vampire :)

Last night my god sister and I took a little trip down to Tesco, well to get some grocery however like girls we ended up in the clothes section and to our surprise we found so many items we loved and its so in trend this season and at a very good price

My week at MUSE Makeup School

My blog has been very much neglected for the last week or so :( and this is why...

I've been a busy bee studying at London MUSE

Last week Monday was my first official day at London Muse makeup style and education school, I went for the advance course which was a 6 day intense course with a photo shoot with photographer Joel Anderson on the 7th day. Still waiting for the finial photos to arrive, can't wait!!

My week at MUSE was phenomenal, words can't explain my experience, makeup artist and director of MUSE Nicci Jackson was a fantastic mentor, she taught, guided and provided us with so much knowledge and inspiration to follow our dreams of becoming a professional artist. I learnt so much in just one week and my confidence and creativity has truly blossom! Nicci and the pro team are amazing, they were always there to support us and help with any problems and difficulties with had. I am now a proud member of the MUSE family.

Truly would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to get into the world of makeup! MUSE really supports you all the way and helps you reach your dreams! They have defiantly helped me!

New haircut inspired by Rihanna

Had my hair cut the other day, was meant to grow my hair long again but the wait was just too long but I was getting very inpatient it grew to my shoulders and this length is just so annoying as it keeps flicking out so I just decided to keep it short, so much easier to maintain. thinking to dye it a cherry red soon :)

I was inspired by a hair style Rihanna had sometime last year, short and straight cut at the back, shorter on one side and longer one the other.
