Exciting pictures of the 2015 Redesigned C Class have now been released. Once again Mercedes-Benz have done a great job on this car.After the release of the extreamly well designed CLA, the expectations on the number one selling Benz have been running high.

This is what Stephen Edelstein of Digital Trends had to say about this new offering from Mercedes-Benz.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has traditionally been the baby of the Benz lineup, but not anymore. With the smaller, less expensive CLA-Class on dealer lots, it’s time for the redesigned 2015 C-Class to grow up.

The 2015 model certainly looks grown up. The styling is borrowed from the larger E-Class sedan, making the C-Class look like a mini version of that distinguish luxury cruiser. The new look is less formal than previous models, but not quite as out there as the CLA’s “four-door coupe” styling. Overall, it’s quite satisfying to the eye.

That new styling conceals a slightly larger body with a 3-inch longer wheelbase. Despite the growth that seems like an inevitable part of every redesign, Mercedes says the 2015 C-Class is 220 pounds lighter than before, yielding 20 percent better fuel efficiency without any sacrifice in performance. That sounds like a pretty good deal.

Two flavors of C-Class will initially be offered in the United States. The C300 4Matic will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, while the C400 4Matic will have a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, which produces 329 hp and 354 lb-ft.

Both models will be offered exclusively with seven-speed automatic transmissions and (you guessed it) 4Matic all-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive versions be be added later, along with an AMG performance model.

The 2015 C-Class is also the first car in its class to be offered with air suspension, Mercedes says. The Airmatic system features four modes: “Comfort”, “Eco”, “Sport”, and “Sport+”, and a customizable “Individual” mode.

As for the interior, Mercedes apparently tried to create the same sporty look as the exterior, albeit less successfully. The thick-rimmed steering wheel and three center-stack air vents look cartoonishly oversized, and the fixed infotainment screen looks a bit cheap for a Mercedes.

That’s okay because tech-happy buyers will probably be distracted by the number of gadgets anyway. The list includes a head-up display (HUD), Mercedes’ “Comand” infotainment system, and an air conditioning system that uses GPS data.

The 2015 C-Class isn’t short on safety features either. Driver aids include: Attention Assist, Attention Assist, Adaptive Brake Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, Brake Assist System Plus and Enhanced Active Lane Keeping Assist, as well as Active Park Assist, a 360-degree camera and Traffic Sign Assist with Wrong-Way Alert.

If all of those systems fail, there’s also a bevy of airbags, including pelvis bags for front-seat occupants and a new window bag. You’ll have to forgive us, but ‘pelvis bag’ makes us giggle.

In the flurry of airbag listing, Mercedes didn’t say exactly when the 2015 C-Class would go on sale, but don’t be surprised if it shows up at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.

The Altimate Run For Man's Cancers raised $400 000,00 on Fathers' Day

According to CTV Ottawa more than 1,500 runners and walkers braved the forecasted rain to gallantry take part in the 15th annual Ultimate Run for Men’s Cancers in order to raise $400 000.00 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

It is important to note that many people from very different backgrounds teamed up to raise money for this noble cause. However, Top team fundraisers were highlighted as follows:

Top Team: Team Greggybear - $101,000
Top Individual Fundraiser: Arnie Vered - $42,633
Top Corporate Team: Spence Team - $19,353
Top Family Team: Call-Me-Crazy - $4,683
Top VIP Team Fundraiser: Senator Vern White - $5,691

As a result, this year’s run brought up an encouraging 15-year total money raised to $3.5 million. This is a welcome development in the fight against man's cancers. The Canadian Cancer Society estimates that more than 23,000 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and more than 13,000 men will diagnosed with colon cancer. These numbers simply have to come down and that"s the reason why this race drew participants from all walks of life like students, seniors, sports stars, sports administrators, business executives, just but to mention a few.

CTV Ottawa's Katie Griffin.summed this up very well,“You just see the community drive, you just see everybody come together and really put together something that's going to go such a long way for these people who are battling cancer,” said Ottawa native and Florida Panthers defence man Erik Gudbranson, whose brother was diagnosed with cancer eight years ago.

Races were then tailor made to suit this wide cross section of participants:

5 KM Timed Run. This race was won by Sebastian Saville in 16:56.4mins followed by Chris Calley 17:21.6 mins and third was Adam Kourakis 18:13.7mins and yours truly Frankie Meki hobbled to the finishing line in 24:52.5 min in an effort to represent Team Ogilvie Mercedes-Benz well.

A lot of participants were hoping that one day Mercedes-Benz may bring more exciting moments to the races by providing a car for a challenge run. Well, lets wait and see, it happens in Golf, it may also happen here.

Raymond James 10 KM Timed Run. This race was won by Shane Stewart 34:55.1mins and coming in second was Nicolas Pedneault 36:42.0mins followed by Charles Carter 36:42.5 mins
Godfrey's Roofing 15 KM Timed Run. This race was won by Mark Davis 59:29.7mins followed by Chris Mamen 1:02:18.9mins and coming in third was Cathy Boonoff

Ogilvie Mercedes-Benz is helping to sponsor the15th annual fund raising event for The ULTIMATE RUN for Men’s Cancers which will be held at Carlton University in Ottawa on Fathers Day (16 June 2013).

According to Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation The ULTIMATE RUN for Men's Cancers event has raised over $3 Million over the past 15 years for research, prevention and equipment for all men’s cancers.
The 2013 ULTIMATE RUN for Men’s Cancers will support the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation’s mission to improve regional cancer care. The event will support the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment such as the da Vinci Surgical System and the CyberKnife; along with innovative research, patient care and the cancer coaching programs at the Cancer Foundation’s Maplesoft Centre.

Lewis Hamilton Finishes Third at The Canadian Grand Prix.

Even though Vettel powered his Red Bull car to another thrilling win at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, a lot of Hamiltons supporters were not overly happy with his third position podium. It is becoming evident that Hamilton is beginning to feel the pressure from his supporters, his team but more so from himself. There is heavy pressure to prove himself as the best driver on show, both to his rivals and their supporters who think that his World Championship was a fluke.

According to the Independent Lewis Hamilton admitted that he was desperate to get a first win of the season under his belt after clinching a third-place finish for Mercedes in Canada at the weekend. Despite a solid team performance to finish behind Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso, Hamilton is clearly a frustrated driver at the moment.Hamilton said: "I don't settle for anything but the best and wins; and I still haven't got a win.Hamilton went further to say "There are positives to take away from the weekend. So I'm happy I can get those points for the team because they are working so hard and we're doing a lot better than I ever expected when I joined. I definitely can't complain, but I want to win."

Seven races into the Season, 3 third place podium finishes, no retirements is still a very respectable position to be in considering that Michael had 7 retirements and that Nico has already had 3. While it is understandable that Lewis would like to see his name on the leader board, a little patience and good tac-tics would see him taking position one very soon.

On June 2, 2013 from 10am to 3pm, an exclusive vintage automobil show was hosted at the By Ward Market. This is an annual event affectionately dubbed ByWard Market Auto Classic. According to Wiki, ByWard Market is Canada's oldest continuously operating farmers' market, regulated by the City of Ottawa.The market building is open year-round, and open-air stalls are operated in the warmer months offering fresh produce and flowers.

So on Sunday, after church, we found ourselves downtown looking at vintage classic cars. But we were so hungry we found it pleasurable to visit Tuckers Marketplace for a very satisfying Buffet Breakfast. This is a fantastic place always packed with people enjoying some of the unique menus on offer. If you happen to be in Ottawa, make sure to visit this place. Check out one of the food displays below.

Opps, sorry for getting carried away with the idea of food. Back to the car show. After looking at a lot of cars my pick of the day was the 1971 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado 2-door Convertible. Honestly, this was my first time to take a serious look at such a long (5629mm) 2-door convertible. The car was also very wide (2027mm) and boasted of a very comfortable wheel base of over three meters. It was interesting to note that this car was front wheel drive powered by a 365 horse power eight cylinder engine mated to a 3 speed gearbox. This car's top speed was said to be 184km/h with a reasonable sprint power of 0-60 mph in 9.4 seconds. for more info visit this Web www.automobile-catalog.com.

Mercedes-Benz 2014 CLA Coupe Pricing.

In a bold competitive move Mercedes-Benz Introduces a 2014 CLA 4 door Coupe for the first time ever to the North American Market Place.

The all new CLA is absolutely stunning and well priced as it will start with a shocking low MSRP price of $33 900.00 in Canada and $29 900.00 in the USA while it is alleged that an equivalent model would cost $59 611.00 (CLA 250 EDITION) The Canadian Market received this with excitement even though some sections felt that the price should have been closer to that of the USA as the Canadian dollar is running almost at par with the green back.

The price in Canada is just $4000 more than the B250 and $3400 less than the C250 sedan and yet the CLA has a lot more equipment that come as standard in the car. Imagine the 12 way power front seats with 3 position memory, Collision prevention assist, Steering wheel shift paddles just but to name a few.

Front Elevation. Well crafted aggressive and sporty looking. Visual aesthetics enhanced by the impressively contoured hood with twin power domes, traditionally a preserve for AMG vehicles. The black diamond grille with a single blade and bold central star continues the trend which started way back in the 50s and redone recently on the SLK and the SL.The bumper is eye catching with the striking air inlets.

Rear Elevation. The CLA has a well endowed rear with a stylish spoiler lip on the trunk lid and tail light clusters, an athletically contoured rear bumper with black insert and twin chrome rectangular exhaust tail pipes.

Mercedes-Benz 2014 E Class facelift which looks like Model Redesigning.

Gone are the days when many manufactures simply chose to tinker with bumpers wheel styles and a few cosmetic items on their mid term facelifts. Today, manufactures are almost transforming their cars in their mid-term facelits. In the 2012 C Class facelift Mercedes-Benz changed over 2000 features on the car. They followed this up with the aggressive, but sleek styling of the 2013 GLK Class. Hot on the heels of the GLK Class is the 2014 E Class which will be unleashed onto the market place in March of 2013.

In an unprecedented robust move, Mercedes-Benz Canada did not change the MSRP of the 2013 B250 which replaces the B200. The All New Redesigned vehicle, despite all the expensive upgrades and features, is aggressively priced at $29,900 making it one of the most affordable luxury vehicle in its segment. This is very good news to all the B200 customers who have been waiting patiently for this vehicle for about a year. There was no new B200 produced for model year 2012.

Here is what Mercedes-Benz had to say about this new offering.

Mercedes-Benz ML & GL Finally Get the Off-Road Package!

Mercedes-Benz finally decided to step up to the plate and introduce an Off-Road package for the ML & GL classes.

It is important to note that this package is not certified for NAFTA diesel engines and therefore will not be available on the ML 350 BlueTEC and GL 350 BlueTEC. Diesel engines are the highest sellers in this category in Canada and as result this state of affairs is not seating well with many customers. However, they are hopeful that MB must be working on certifying diesel engines too.

The message from Mercedes-Benz Canada (MBC) is that beginning with January production, dealers will be able to order the new Off-Road Package for the following vehicles: ML 350 4MATIC, ML 550 4MATIC, GL 450 4MATIC & GL 550 4MATIC.

MBC further reiterates that, this new package is ideal for customers who wish to extend the capability of their SUV both on and off road. Package highlights include a 6-mode driving program selector with animations in the COMAND display, 2-speed transfer case, underguard body protection and a locking centre differential.

MBC state that:

The Off-road package gives the driver greater control over the vehicle's handling – both on the road and for off-road driving.
The characteristics of ESP(Electronic Stability Program) transmission, suspension, engine, steering and, if applicable, ASR (Acceleration Stability Control) are adapted to the selected drive program.

The driver can select from the following drive programs:

AUTO: standard vehicle settings for normal driving

Mercedes-Benz 2013 Off-Road SUVs. Exceptional!!

This week, Mercedes-Benz Canada via their Driving Academy held one of their best ever Off-Road Ride & Drive training exercises for their Eastern Region automotive sales and support staff at Mont Rigaud ski resort near Montreal. The last Ride and Drive was held in this Region in 2007 when the All Redesigned C Class was being launched. For a long five years automotive consultants yearned and requested for more Ride & Drives. Finally, Mercedes-Benz responded in an unprecedented manner by unleashing vehicles worth over two million dollars for this Off-Road Ride & Drive.

The beautiful, quiet and scenic town of Rigaud with a Population of over 7300 inhabitants had the joy of watching and drooling at 2013: G Class, GL Class, M Class and the face lifted GLK Class as their community was literary flooded with these expensive cars. However, thanks to the trainers as due attention was exercised to respect the community and cause as little damage to the environment as possible.

Our first port of call was to jump into the over $100,000.00 G Class off-road vehicles shown above and off into the woods we drove.

Upon entering the vehicle most of us were awe stricken by the state-of-the-art ergonomics displayed in a very simple fashion. Everything in the cockpit was within easy reach of the driver. A few things were completely re-designed, for example, the high-quality dashboard with central, free-standing 17.8 cm color display unit,a new instrument cluster with round-dial instruments and white color display (just like you find in most sporty Mercedes-Benz cars), a centre console with centre dome and generously-sized trim elements, and a multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles,

In the woods, after having locked the rear and front differentials and selected the appropriate drive mode D1 the G Class attacked everything thrown at it with the ruthlessness of a true master of the jungle. The vehicle was superb over rocks, logs, tree stumps, narrow in-between-tree maneuvers, deep muddy areas, slippery surfaces, steep hill ascents and steep down hill descents.The driver had the easiest of tasks : that of guiding and pointing the vehicle where he/she wanted it to go and just to provide it with sufficient gas and the vehicle would do the rest.

Even drivers with less off-road driving experience looked like experts. From time to time, our instructors had to call out to guys not to be carried away by the exciting growl from the V8 engines and then over rev them.

The line up was very impressive too thanks to Mercedes-Benz Canada.

Tuesday, a normally quiet night at Ogilvie Mercedes-Benz in Ottawa burst into a hive of activities as well heeled invited guests and participants started to arrive for the well hyped Start Up Fashion Show Semi-Finals hosted by Mercedes-Benz Canada.

Amid glitz, pomp and fun the excited guests were met with scintillating music and cocktails as they took their positions for what turned out to be one of the best shows ever held at dealership in Ottawa

Prior to this event a panel of highly competent judges had worked tirelessly to narrow down a huge list of talented fashion designers to six. These fortunate selected few then presented their collections at the semi-finals were an appreciating crowd applauded some of the best models from time to time.

After judges deliberations, it emerged that there was a tie vote. Such was how tight the competition was. Congratulations to Caitlin Power and Christopher Bates who will now proceed to Toronto for the finals.
A special thank you to Ogilvie Motors who worked tirelessly to make this day such a well -attended function. This was a refreshing experience for the guests who were in a car dealership but, yes, not talking about cars but clothes, What a welcome change!

In Cologne, five awards were given for Mercedes-Benz. The A-Class was given the “Innovation, High Quality, Design and Ease of Use” award and the best compact car award.

On the other hand, The Mercedes C300 BlueTEC HYBRID was labeled as the “Best Product of 2012″ and the “Innovation and Environment” award.
The brand as a whole got the Plus X Award for being a sustainable car manufacturer in the world. This means that the jury sees Mercedes’ diversity and innovativeness by bring new concepts of urban mobility and technology in the market. Prof Herbert Kohler, Daimler’s Head of Group Research and Chief Environmental Officer said, “Since the invention of the automobile, Mercedes-Benz personal mobility and time again. According to Clarissa from benzinsider.com Mercedes-Benz again has picked up the coveted accolade of being the number one car brand in Australia. They scooped the highest Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) rating at 95%.

Mercedes-Benz Australia also got another achievement from Down Under as their new C Class W204 chassis which exceeded the 30,000 unit sales target. They are celebrating 30 years of the brand’s entry-level luxury car with the special ‘Edition 30′ package for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Mercedes-Benz first entered the compact executive class in Australia in 1982 when it launched the Mercedes-Benz 190 with the W201 chassis. The first-generation C-Class (W202) debuted in 1993.

The Mercedes-Benz C Class has grown to become the most popular vehicle in Australia’s $60,000-plus medium car segment. Between January and April, 2149 were sold across the country, giving Mercedes a 38.1 per cent share of the market, well clear of the BMW 3-Series (1269 sales, 22.5 per cent) and the Audi A4 (949 sales, 16.8 per cent).
The C-Class is actually the fourth highest selling medium car in the country, regardless of price. It trails the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord Euro and Mazda6, but so far this year has outsold the Subaru Liberty, Ford Mondeo, Volkswagen Passat and the Hyundai i40/i45.

It was only a question of time as many customers, including the die hard anti-tech ones, are beginning to move over to the iPads as their user friendliness has exceeded expectation.
