Registration Still Open For The Melges 17 Muskegon Opener

The 2013 Midwest One-design Spring Championship hosted by the Muskegon Yacht Club is happening next weekend, May 18-19, 2013!

The Melges 17 fleet will enjoy an incredible weekend of sailing on the Muskegon Lake. Registration and the first of a three part fluid replacement seminar happens Friday with racing to follow on Saturday and Sunday. The fleet will also enjoy a Saturday night dinner planned by Scott Miller Dinner.

There is still time to register for this wonderful regatta! The Entry Form along with the entry fee is due before racing commences on May 18, 2013.

Chad Coberly is victorious at the 2013 Macatawa Bay Melges 17 Spring Invitational

The 2013 Macatawa Bay Melges 17 Spring Invitational was a weekend enjoyed by all on and off the water. Macatawa Bay Yacht Club hosted nine extremely close and highly competitive races with only one point separating the winner and the runner up.

Congratulations to Chad Coberly, 2012 Brownwater Regatta champion, sailing USA 3 who took the win with four bullets for the weekend! Coberly was highly contested the entire regatta. Steve Sission on Elevation Racing finished one back for the series despite winning five races this weekend. Third place finisher Casey Call had a great weekend on the water sailing USA 71. Call finished up day two with a 3-2-3 punch that solidified his spot on the podium separating himself from the rest of the fleet.

The fleet had a fantastic time with family and friends especially at the beach party at the Brand's and are looking forward to the Melges 17 Muskegon Opener happening next weekend, May 18-19, 2013!

2013 Macatawa Bay Melges 17 Spring Invitational Set and Ready For This Weekend

The 2013 Macatawa Bay Melges 17 Spring Invitational is kicking off this weekend, May 4-5, 2013. The Macatawa Bay Yacht Club will host a solid ten Melges 17s for two days of wonderful racing and awesome social events with family and friends. The weather is expected to be beautiful with temperatures in the high 70s on both Saturday and Sunday.

The racing will be incredible with the majority of the fleet calling Michigan home. Michael Kiss on Bacetto Uno, Steve Sisson on Elevation Racing and Tom Bryant on Matros II are only among the few of the highly competitive fleet sailing at the Spring Invitational.

Melges 17 New Fleet Member Party At Grand Rapids Yacht Club, April 26

On Friday April 26th, the GRYC M17 fleet is having a Party for potential new fleet members and current fleet members. If you have any interest in checking out the Melges 17, please bring your family and crew down to Grand Rapids Yacht Club where we will have a couple of boats set up. Weather and conditions permitting, we can also look to take you out that evening, the following Saturday or, on another day.
