I really hate to do this, but my blog is going password protected. I’ve been thinking about this A LOT and it’s what I’ve decided to do. This blog was meant for family and close friends in the beginning and I think I want to go back to that. I do love sharing my work with the world so I have created a new blog www.melissanoste.com. It’s blank at the moment but I will be starting to post regularly over there. There’s two reasons I want to go private. The first is I want to be able to post stories and images of my daughter in a safe environment where I know the information won’t be mistreated. You can never be too careful with your children and I just think the internet has become a scary place. Will I still post photos of Adalyn on my new blog? You betcha but I will be very selective in the shots and also will not include any details with them. The second reason I’m going private is I want my family to be able to download the photos I post. Since my blog has gone very public I realized that I needed to keep my photos safe from theft however in doing so my family does not have access to these photos if they want to print. And I’m horrible about emailing photos, so this just makes life easier. I have not figured out how this blog will go password protected. My current template does not allow the whole blog to go on password, so I might just do individual blog posts with passwords until I figure things out. I’ve also changed my settings so you can’t find me through google. So if you’ve found my blog there, make sure to bookmark this page because eventually it will be gone. I hope all you out there understand and follow me on my new blog. That will be very photography related and probably a bit more interesting to you. To my family. Once I get things figured out I will send out an email with the information. Friends who read this site, shoot me an email and I’ll make sure you get the information too. Taking Some Time…

I’ve been taking some time off from everything. This has not been planned but just kind of happened. I realized I needed it. August was so much of race and September didn’t slow down much either. But things seem to be slowing down a bit to at least get us back into a routine some what. I haven’t picked up my camera in about two weeks, maybe more. I’ve just been living life. It’s made me sad since I was doing the 365 project but I realized that starting it during our busy time wasn’t the best idea. I will however be starting over and this time with a few of my photographer friends. We’ll also be doing a really fun monthly project that will debut in November. I’ll share more on that as time gets closer. But for now I’m taking today and tomorrow off and Saturday I’m headed to a big photographer’s meet up. I’ll be sure to blog all about that. So have a wonderful rest of the week and we’ll see you soon!

I don’t usually use a lot of presets and actions on my photos. However tonight I was in a mood. I’m currently finishing up all my January 2012 photos (I know, I’m WAY behind) to prepare them for print and archiving. The Clickin Moms Film Art presets are so much fun to use. The color versions are Moonshine and the B&W is Pewter and I just love the moodiness they add to the photos.
This week is going to be another busy week for me. I hope to keep up with my posting but I make no promises. We did do a lot this weekend and I have lots to share. But as you can see I’m showing photos from January, so who the heck knows when I’ll get my current photos up! hehe

Oh Rylie!

Things have obviously been very quiet around here and that is due to our beagle Rylie. Over Labor Day weekend, she took a big leap off our patio and landed on her leg wrong. In the process she tore her ACL. So all last week I spent keeping her quiet until she got into surgery on Tuesday of this week. She was gone over night and my nerves were high! She came home the next day still her happy little self but with a shaved leg and a bunch a stitches up the inside of her leg. It’ll be a long recovery, about 6-8 weeks but so far she’s doing great. She’s already putting more weight on it then before surgery. We just have to really help her not over do it and injure herself more. So I’ve been a bit busy with my little dog and my big dog that is insanely jealous of how much attention Rylie is getting. Then there’s the crazy two year old that is just well crazy. Hopefully things settle down soon because I have a bunch to catch up on. So for now I leave you with a shot of Rylie after she came home. She was very sleepy with the meds we gave her. ;) So she laid in the sun like a perfect little model.

First Photoshoot with my Nikon

Two posts in one day, these are becoming common. I will be working on a lot of photos this weekend but decided to get started early during nap time. The header is correct, at the beginning of the month I switch to Nikon. I’m now a proud owner of the D700 and I love her so much. No regrets switching brands. None at all. I’m still getting the hang of it since it’s totally different than my Canon but I’m getting there. I do plan on writing something up on the pro/cons and what I like and don’t like about my switch, so that’ll eventually come. I might even write it for my guest posts on Courtney’s blog. We shall see.

For now I leave you with the firs session I did literally the day I got my camera on August 2nd. You will actually recognize the first two shots because I’ve already posted them. I’ve switched up my editing once again and I’m really digging my new stuff. A lot softer than my pervious edits. Anyways, I hope everyone has a fantastic Labor Day weekend. Giving a Friend a Ride

This is Lambie, she’s made several appearances with Adalyn on my blog. She is Adalyn most beloved lovie, so much that I purchased two. It makes washing them a lot easier when you can just replace it with another. Since Adalyn got her trike, she’s always looking to place Lambie in something to take her for a ride. So we headed down to Walmart and picked up a basket for Lambie.

This is totally a snapshot and a mistake gone perfect. My focus point was in the bottom right. But when she started waving and yelling bye to me I had to quickly get the shot. She is such a silly girl!
