It's Autumn in Brazil and the weather has been very crazy in the south, where I live. It's cold as winter in the beginning of the day, it seems summer in the afternoon and we have a typical windy and rainy fall night... And I get sick (alergy sick) every week.

To help me work properly, I made a special project to keep on my desk. Hope you like it!

Susan May DT Day - Inspiration Theme

Hi everyone!! Today is my May DT Day at Meljens Designs. This month the theme is Inspiration. I thought about it a bit and thought.. You know what my inspiration is each day?? Jesus, Prayer, My Savior, My faith, Hope and that there are still good people in this world. Something pretty new to me, but also something I'm trying to make a priority. So, with that in mind I used the images Faith Hope Love and Faith Hope Butterflies.And here is the card I came up with:

I used all pink and white on this card, which a touch of teal on the butterflies. I colored with Copic. I of course did some decoupage/popped several things LOL the lettering in HOPE, the hearts and circles, the butterflies. I used a Spellbinder die cut behind the top image. The two images are Faith Hope Love and Faith Hope Butterflies. On the inside I used two stamps from "Something Within" Unity Stamps. I added the die cut circle and added some gems to it. The pink paper is embossed. And I think that is it.

Corners/Hearts: RV11, RV13, RV14
Butterflies: R0000, R20, R22, R24, BG000, BG53, BG57

Hello everyone, Barb here with another Design Team Share day. We were asked to share a project created from something that inspires us. I have to say that there are some AMAZING card makers posting GORGEOUS creations on the MelJen's Designs Facebook page and if you are not a member, you are really missing out! Recently, there were a few cards posted featuring the Sunflower Buggies digi stamp and that is where I drew inspiration for my card.

This is such an adorable digital stamp! I love all the details that Melissa has adds to her images. Do you see the bitty lady bugs and those sweet bees? SO cute! Now is the perfect time for flowers! There are so many floral images in the Shop. Buzz by and take a peek. I am sure you will be inspired to create something beautiful. And after you do, please share it with us on the MelJen's Designs Facebook page. We love to see your creations. There are many benefits of being a member of the Club on Facebook. In addition to having an opportunity to 'chat' with other card makers, you can share your projects and also see what other members have been working on. Rain, Rain, Go Away!

It is raining here again in my neck of the woods. While I am really glad it isn't snow, I have had enough dreary days and would love to see a little sunshine. Dreary days aren't very inspiring in themselves, but there are a lot of wonderful Meljen's Designs images having to do with rain. There are even a couple in gorgeous red rubber stamps. Did you know you can get Meljen's Designs in rubber too?

Here is my card using one of the rubber stamps available at Whimsy Designs.

This is Little Puddle Duck and he is not available as a digital stamp. I love the versatility of digital images, but I also love to get inky and he was just too cute! I paper pieced him using some pretty polka dot paper. Unfortunately, my streak of not cutting a new piece of paper ended with that polka dot paper, but it was SO perfect.

If rubber stamping is not your thing, there are a lot of great digital images perfect for dreary days. Here is a card I made using Little Umbrella Boy.

Simply change the colors and it could easily be a girl as well.

This card used the image Shower of Love. Perfect for a pick-me-up card for someone special.

So let the next dreary day provide you with a little inspiration.

DT Day With Robin

It is my turn again to create something inspirational for Meljen's Design. The is nothing more important than the courage, faithfulness and love that all the Military men and women have for their country. So my tribute is to all in the past and the future! Your work does NOT go unnoticed!! I for one am EXTREMELY PROUD to call you all American Soldiers.

I created this card for all of you serving for our freedom and for others in the world. I used "Army Bear" by Meljen's Design. I colored my image with Copic markers. My designer paper is from Hobby Lobby. To create the frame, I used Classic, Scalloped Circles and Labels Eighteen by Spellbinders. My sentiment is "Friendly Message Set" by Stampendous! My finishing touches are green pearls.

Some "Spring Flower" Inspiration

Hi there! Nancy here with a fun and easy project to share with you. This month I thought it would be fun to try creating something other than a card with one of Meljen's adorable images and so I came up with "coasters". Quick and very in-expensive to do, these would make a lovely gift...maybe even for Mother's Day {which is approaching very quickly}.

I decided to work with one of Melissa's new images "Flowers In My Pocket". {It was one of the April New Release Images}. It is just so cheery, it seemed the perfect choice. After printing it on cardstock, {I was going to try it on Kraft but changed my mind and went with plain white}, I coloured it with Copic markers.

I trimmed the image so that there would be a border of tile showing around the edge. Using "decoupage" I adhered the image to the tile. {I bought the plain white ceramic tiles at Home Depot for 28 cents each}.

Let dry. Then I doodled around the top edge where the tile showed, with a blue Sharpie Ultra Fine Marker. Then I added another coat of decoupage. {I ended up giving it 3 coats in total}. Finally, I sprayed it with a clear coat of varathane.

I found some self-sticking, clear rubber, circular thingies at the $ Store to put on each of the bottom 4 corners to prevent the coaster from scratching the table surface. Voila! Done!

I already have family and friends wanting some, so I can safely say I will definitely be making more of these fun coasters. Hope you'll give it a try too!

Happy May Day, Friends!

With sadness, I have to announce that Ruza had to step down from our team to devote more time to family and other crafting adventures. She will be dearly missed and her time with us on the team will not be forgotten! She will always be an inspiration and I know we will all be following her through her blog.

With Ruza's departure, we open the door to a new teammate and I am pleased to allow Sue to introduce herself to you all!

My name is Sue Taylor-Hill and I am a happily married Mom of two beautiful Girls and one "furry" girl (a yellow Lab).

I reside in Canada and LOVE anything to do with Scrapbooking,

Card Making and Crafting.

Meljens was actually my first experience with digital stamps so it is quite a thrill to be part of this very talented Design Team!

Here is a wall hanging I made for my 7 year old. Its a picture from her last ballet recital and I used Meljen Designs- Little Ballerina and I Hope You Dance.

Happy Birthday, Donna!

Not only is today our Guest Designer Day, but it is also our Guest Designer, Donna's Birthday!! Whoo Hooo!!! Everyone here at Meljen's Designs would like to wish you a wonderful Birthday, and remember, "The older the fiddler, The sweeter the tune!"

Here's Donna, with her last post as Guest Designer - we've loved having you with us, Donna!

Hi Everyone:

This post holds some bittersweet thoughts for me. First, this is my last
post as the April Guest Designer for Meljen's. I have always been a fan
of Melissa's digis and have truly enjoyed being a part of the team for a
short time. Secondly, today just happens to be my 50th birthday with
which I am having a really hard time becoming a part of the Half Century
Club. Of course, there are a lot of things that are worse than turning
50.

When I saw the digi I used for my card, I knew that I had to make
something with it. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories about my
Daddy and the Volkwagon "BUG" that we used to have when I was a child.
Daddy's "bug" was pumpkin orange. During the time that we had the car,
everyone had a CB radio (yes, I really am showing my age). Well, Daddy's
handle for his car was Pumpkin I. Our family loved that car and my Daddy
always kept it clean and shiny. The Pumpkin I came to an early death when
my brother rolled the car three times on his way to pick his girlfriend.
Luckily, he had his seatbelt on and walked away from the accident.

Flower Power Car

For this card, using a pre-cut card, I covered it with royal blue
cardstock. I colored the digi with Promarkers and of course, I colored
the car orange. I cut out the digi and adhered it to orange and yellow
paper. I added a strip of patterned paper and twine. Then topped it off
with some purple flower buttons. The sentiment was generated in Word -
"Don't be "bugged"...... by another birthday! It's only a number. (I
think I need to follow my own advice!)

I really enjoyed making this card because it brought back wonderful
memories of my Daddy. Sure do miss that man!

Thank you, Melissa and Meljen's Designs, for allowing me to use your digis
for projects and to post them on your blog. I truly enjoyed the
experience. If you are looking for some great digi stamps, I'm sure that
Melissa will have something in her store that will meet your needs.

Design Team Day with Ruza ...

Good afternoon. Today is my last project that I will be sharing as a member of the Meljen's Designs Design Team. I am stepping down for personal reasons, and will truly miss inspiring you with my creations. I want to thank Melissa for giving me the opportunity to create with her amazing designs. She is very talented, and I'm proud to have been a member of the amazing Design Team we have here.

So for my last project I created a card for Melissa, Artist & Owner of Meljen's Designs, in honor of Meljen's 3-Year Anniversary!

I picked up this Super FUN Party Time Cat Colored image last month for our Birthday Challenge, but family issues prevented me from creating a card for the Birthday Challenge. I love the image and how much fun this awesome Cat is having at the party.
