The Apple iPad 2 is about to hit European shelves, fresh form a diet and exercise regime that’s helped it shed weight and build muscle. Faster, thinner and lighter is an accurate account of what’s been going on in the year that divides the two editions of Apple’s tablet.

Apple is taking it easy with the upgrades as usual – everything is carefully planned to ensure smooth traffic of new and repeat customers. It’s weirdly inconsistent with the hype about every new release. Anyway, faster-thinner-lighter is a fair deal to offer new users without making the original iPad adopters feel duped.

It’s a sequel from the creators of a blockbuster. The iPad 2 is in no mood to start a revolution. But evolution should be good enough considering the original iPad is yet to be beaten.

The list of disadvantages of any iOS device is the usual long read. Apple’s iOS has limitations that we all have to live with. Apple will never bring Flash support, allow regular file management or make iTunes (or at least the mandatory cable connection) optional. As to the actual iPad 2, if you want real GPS functionality you have no choice but to opt for the 3G-enabled model, which adds $120 to the regular bill.

But if you’re willing to forgive the shortcomings, the iPad 2 brings both a performance upgrade and a redesign. The tablet is powered by the new Apple A5 SoC, with a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor, PoverVR SGX543MP2 graphics and 512MB RAM.

The Apple iPad 2 comes to address one of the main issues of the original iPad: weight. And while the handling is improved we’re less certain about the aesthetics. True, it’s an impressively thin tablet (slimmer than the iPhone 4) but uses the older generation iPhone design.

Anyway, the speed boost is all there and we’ve enjoyed some impressive performance in our early tests. The Facetime video-calls and 720p videos are nice add-ons too. Unfortunately, higher screen resolution is too much of an upgrade to ask for in only the second release.

The iPad 2 has its ups and downs but, like it or not, it will sell in millions just like the original. But Apple is probably keeping a wary eye on the Android army readying a massive deployment in the coming months.

SEOUL - LG Electronics mengkonfirmasi rencana peluncuran komputer tablet perdananya di Amerika Serikat, Maret mendatang.

G-slate adalah salah satu tablet pertama yang bakal menggunakan Honeycomb, sistem operasi teranyar Google untuk perangkat-perangkat mobile dengan layar besar.

Memiliki layar 8,9 inci, G-slate memang berukuran lebih kecil ketimbang display iPad yang mencapai 10 inci. Namun, G-slate masih lebih besar ketimbang Galaxy Tab milik Samsung (7 inci), demikian dilansir Straits Times, Rabu (2/2/2011).

LG belum mengumumkan banderol untuk gadget terbarunya. Namun, produsen handset terbesar ketiga dunia ini mengklaim akan membeberkan tanggal rilis global, akhir Februari.

Peluncuran G-slate ini diharapkan bisa memperbaiki bisnis handset LG yang sempat terpukul akibat persaingan ketat smartphone dari berbagai rival. Setelah mengalami kerugian USD229 juta pada kuartal keempat lalu, LG berharap rangkaian ponsel cerdas dan tablet mereka bisa mendorong angka penjualan.

Acer : Tablet Tidak Akan Ambil Posisi Notebook

TAIWAN - Acer mengatakan bahwa mereka akan menginvestasikan lebih banyak dana untuk menghadirkan tablet ke pasar tapi tidak akan menyingkirkan jajaran netbook mereka.

Bantahan tersebut muncul setelah salah satu sales-manager Acer salah mengatakan kalau perusahaan tersebut berencana untuk menyingkirkan notebook dengan tablet (yang disalahartikan oleh teknologi industri sebagai 'kanibalisme').

Istilah 'kanibalisme tablet terhadap notebook' sempat ramai karena tablet saat ini terus memakan porsi besar jatah netbook di pasar. Demikian seperti yang dikutip dari Pocket-Lint, Jumat (21/1/2011).

"Mobilitas, yang mana selalu menjadi bagian penting di Acer menemukan bentuk baru seperti tablet. Acer menyadari kalau pasar komputer kini sedang berubah," ujar pihak Acer.

"Sebagaimana PC kini tidak lagi digunakan hanya untuk membuat konten tapi juga sebagai bagian gaya hidup, kini semakin banyak bentuk perangkat baru dan tablet adalah salah satunya. Tablet akan menemukan posisinya di pasar, bersandingan dengan notebook dan netbook, tanpa mengambil alih posisi mereka," jelas pihak Acer.

"Firefox 4 beta sekarang mendukung WebGL untuk kartu grafik built-in modern yang umum digunakan. Hal ini membuat para pengembang makin mudah menciptakan game 3D interaktif, grafik yang jelas, dan pengalaman visual baru di web tanpa tergantung plug-in dari pihak ketiga," kata Mike Beltzner, Product Manager Firefox, dalam blognya, kemarin.

WebGL merupakan standar terbuka untuk menyajikan grafik tiga dimensi di web. Dengan adanya WebGL dalam browser, tidak diperlukan lagi Java, Flash, atau program tambahan lainnya untuk menampilkan animasi tiga dimensi. Ini merupakan salah satu produk yang memanfaatkan elemen HTML5 yang didukung banyak pengembang browser, seperti Google Chrome, Opera, dan Apple Safari.

Sony Gandakan Kapasitas Produksi Sensor CMOS

TOKYO - Sony Corp berencana menginvestasikan dana sebesar 100 miliar yen atau setara dengan Rp 11 triliun pada 2011. Uang tersebut akan difokuskan pada penggandaan kapasitas produksi untuk sensor gambar. Perusahaan elektronik yang berbasis di Jepang ini ingin meraih pangsa pasar smartphone.

Pembuat kamera Cyber-shot ini juga berencana membeli kembali pabrik pembuat chip dari Toshiba Corp. Pabrik tersebut memproduksi chip yang digunakan dalam konsol game PlayStation 3. Sony ingin menambah peralatan untuk pabrik yang ada di Nagasaki, Jepang Barat untuk membuat sensor gambar yang berkualitas tinggi.

Ekspansi ini, menyusul rencana bisnis yang diutarakan manajemen pada September silam. Sony akan menghabiskan dana sebesar 40 miliar yen untuk meningkatkan produksi dari chip CMOS yang diproduksi di Kumamoto. Eksportir barang elektrik terbesar di Jepang ini berambisi menggaet 30 persen pangsa pasar pengguna sensor gambar di kamera ponsel.

Total kapasitas produksi pembuatan perangkat lunak Sony akan dinaikan menjadi 50.000 unit per bulan pada Maret 2012 dari yang saat ini hanya 25.000.

Dell Studio XPS 7100 : 6 Core Processor

Build and Design
Despite being the progenitor of the Studio XPS lineup, the original Studio XPS desktop was really more of a shiny Inspiron - when it came to looks, not its award-winning performance - than the rest of the lineup. The last effort Dell made to put AMD in a performance-oriented system, the XPS 625, turned out to be short-lived and overpriced. The XPS 7100 represents the first effort by the Round Rock giant to include AMD architecture in the Studio XPS brand.

Moreover, it's also the first time Dell has released a system using AMD's new marking campaign, Vision. Rather than get into what Vision means in this review, a brief summary: Vision replaces the CPU and GPU stickers consumers often see on the front of their notebooks and desktops. Instead of trying to figure out what processor and graphics card they need for their intended use, all they need to do is figure what Vision system would be right for them.

Inputs and Expansion
Like most desktops, ports are scattered around the system, with the lion's share falling along the rear. In the front is a built-in memory card reader; its placement makes getting pictures from digital cameras that much easier. Two optical drive bays sit just beneath it; the first is populated with a Blu-ray drive that can read Blu-ray discs and burn DVDs. The second is empty, but comes with one of those little buttons on the side that activates the drive.

Just beneath these bays is a sliding door that pushes down to reveal two more USB2.0 ports and an externally-accessible 3.5-inch drive bay. These sliding doors are always a bit clunky to use, and given the ports found elsewhere on the machine, it's a good bet that most consumers will never actually open it. It would be nice if Dell could find a way to include these features with an easier-to-use pocket.

On top of the Studio XPS 7100 is the aforementioned charging and storage tray. It comes with two more USB2.0 ports as well as microphone and headphone jacks for easy access. Putting the audio in and out jacks up on top is a smart move. Given that most consumers will situate the the desktop in such a manner that they'll have to reach down to use it, top-oriented ports are easier to use than those hidden down on the front.

Speaking of audio, the rear of the machine offers up a number of extra ports. In addition to the THX-certified sound integrated into the motherboard with its 7.1 analog and digital out, this review unit has a Creative X-Fi sound card installed into one of the PCI-Express slots. The sound card provides more analog audio in and out as well as two optical audio ports. Most consumers will no doubt opt for the wireless option over the sound card, since it just makes more sense.

In addition to all of the audio capability offered by this desktop, there are two more USB2.0 and two USB3.0 ports, one eSATA port and Gigabit Ethernet. Without a graphics card, buyers of these systems will have HDMI and DVI ports available. Those are covered over when configured with discrete graphics, however, since the video card will be the one to push video out to a monitor. In this case, the included graphics card gives users an additional two DVI outputs, one HDMI and one DisplayPort.

Features
The desktop comes with a 1.5 Terabyte 7,200rpm SATA hard drive, Blu-ray player/DVD burner, and ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card. My review unit also came with a pretty standard Dell multimedia keyboard and optical mouse. The XPS 7100 can be outfitted with a TV tuner, but my configuration didn't come with one.

The system is notable for what it lacks—namely, bloatware. No Office trial, no Wild Tangent games. The system comes with 15 months of McAffee Security Center included in its purchase price, which is something I would recommend. The closest thing to bloatware I could find was a copy of Skype. The system does come with the Dell Dock, an app launcher that floats at the top of the screen. Inside the dock, there's a shortcut to get more software. The shortcut launches a Dell Software Store Website, and that is how I would want users to get a hold of software to load on their systems. Instead of having bloatware forced on the users, they can use the Dell Software Store to find and download only what they need or want.

Performance
Dell Studio XPS 7100 The Studio XPS 7100's performance keeps you moving with its six-core AMD Phenom II X6 1055T processor and ATI Radeon HD 5870 gaming-class graphics card. It was able to complete the Windows Media Encoder (WME) test in a speedy 38 seconds, and the Photoshop CS4 test in 1 minute 38 seconds—that's reasonably quick. To put it in perspective, a dual-core system like the Apple iMac 21.5 inch (Core 2 Duo) ($1,199, ) is a bit slower at WME and a smidge faster at CS4 (0:49 and 1:32, respectively). Intel CPUs generally perform better at CS4 than AMD CPUs.

The Studio XPS 7100 as configured here trumps its sibling, the Dell Studio s7100-1060NBK ($899.99 list, ), at 3D benchmark tests thanks to the faster graphics card. The XPS 7100 is fully playable at three of our four game tests, including Crysis at 1,280 by 1,024: where it scored 65 frames per second (fps), World in Conflict (WiC) at 1,280 by 1,024 (82fps), and WiC at 1,920 by 1,200 (48 fps). Its score on Crysis at 1,920 by 1,200 was an unplayable 35 fps, but you could get close to playable scores at 1,920 by 1,200 if you tweak the quality settings. Contrast this with the Dell s7100-1060NBK's unplayable scores on all four 3D tests.

Google's thrown open the doors to an online bookstore stocked with over 3 million titles, which you can store and read in the cloud as if they were Gmail messages. Google's also offering free reading apps for Android and iOS devices.

Beyond Android and iOS, Google's eBookstore supports Nook, Sony readers, and other devices, as well as offering straight-up access through the web. Other retailers, like Powell's, will offer Google's eBookstore offerings for sale, and Google claims it will offer "unlimited storage" of your purchases, with your page progress synced across everything.

Google's made an effort to offer up lots of modern, popular books at reasonable price, but there are also a lot of free books in the collection, culled from Google's scanning of more than 15 million items in library archives. A video demonstration of Google's new Books and eBookstore is available, but it's neither playing nor embeddable for us—we'll update soon.

Wikileaks Forced to Change Domain Name

STOCKHOLM (AP) - Wikileaks was forced Friday to switch over to a Swiss domain name, wikileaks.ch, after a new round of hacker attacks on its system prompted its american domain name provider to
withdraw service.

Original domain name provider EveryDNS.net reported that it had terminated services offered to Wikileaks.org due to the massive amount of cyber attacks, saying the attacks threatened its infrastructure and endangered access to thousands of other websites.

"Wikileaks.org has become the target of multiple distributed denial of service attacks. These attacks have, and future attacks would, threaten the stability of the EveryDNS.net infrastructure," EveryDNS said in a statement.

EveryDNS provides access to some 500,000 websites.

In a tweet on Friday, the owner of EveryDNS, Dynamic Network Services Inc., wrote that "trust is paramount: Our users and customers are our most important asset." It did not specify whether it was referring to WikiLeaks, however.

WikiLeaks confirmed the move in a separate tweet, saying "WikiLeaks.org domain killed by US everydns.net after claimed mass attacks." It was not clear where the alleged attacks were coming from.

WikiLeaks has previously claimed that intelligence agencies from the U.S. and elsewhere have been targeting its site, which has spilled thousands of embarrassing U.S. diplomatic cables as well as classified U.S. military documents.

Earlier this week, WikiLeaks' Swedish server host, Bahnhof, confirmed that the website had been hit by a cyber attack just before it leaked thousands of classified U.S. diplomatic cables.

In addition to the latest batch of sensitive documents,WikiLeaks has angered the U.S. and other governments by publishing almost half a million secret documents about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is not clear how WikiLeaks obtained the
diplomatic documents, but the U.S. government's prime suspect is an Army private, Bradley Manning, who is in custody on charges of leaking other classified documents to WikiLeaks.

On Wednesday, Amazon.com Inc. - which had provided WikiLeaks with use of its servers to distribute embarrassing State Department communications and other documents - evicted it. The site remains on the servers of its Swedish provider.

The ouster from Amazon came after congressional staff questioned the company about its relationship with WikiLeaks. Sen. Joe Lieberman praised Amazon's action and said it should "set the standard" for companies WikiLeaks is using to distribute
"illegally seized material"

In its decision to terminate the service for Wikileaks, EveryDNS cited what it called a violation of the provision stating that a member should "not interfere with another member's use and enjoyment of the service."

Andre Rickardsson, an expert on file-sharing and information technology security at Sweden's Bitsec Consulting, said domain name providers normally don't drop their clients unless the clients themselves have breached their user contract. "WikiLeaks is not behind the disturbance here, but individuals trying to disturb
WikiLeaks' operations," he said.

Rickardsson said he had never experienced a user being shut off under similar circumstances.

"I don't believe for a second that this has been done by EveryDNS themselves. I think they've been under pressure," he said referring to U.S. authorities.

Mark Stephens, the London-based lawyer for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, also speculated that outside pressure had forced EveryDNS to pull the plug on WikiLeaks.

"Pressure appears to have been applied to close the WikiLeaks domain name," he wrote on the micro-blogging website.

Assange, a 39-year-old Australian, has been out of public sight for nearly a month. Sweden has issued an Europe-wide arrest warrant for him over allegations of rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion, but the exact nature of the allegations are still unclear.

Assange's Swedish and British lawyers claim their client has attempted to assist in the questioning but so far Sweden has turned down his offers. According to his lawyers, he has also yet to receive formal notice of the allegations.

An American defense official has also indicated that U.S. government lawyers are investigating whether Assange can be prosecuted for spying. He is also risks legal action in his homeland, where Australia's Attorney General Robert McClelland has said Australia would detain Assange if possible in response to the warrant filed in the Swedish case by Interpol.

Assange has spoken publicly lately only through online interviews.

eBay’s $75 million Milo buy

E-commerce giant eBay is close to announcing it has purchased local shopping search engine Milo for $75 million, according to a report by Business Insider.

That report appears to confirm what a source familiar with eBay’s plans told VentureBeat. According to our source, eBay plans to spend $75 million on a startup that specializes in tracking inventory in local stores — Milo.com’s specialty.

Milo tracks inventory ranging from laptops to body jewelry at about 50,000 stores in the U.S. in real time. Visitors can search for products that are usually carried by those stories and learn whether they are in stock. Once users find the product they want, Milo can also send them to Google Maps for directions.

Milo, which is based in Palo Alto, has more than 140 retail partners, more than half of them small and medium-sized companies. Larger retailers include Target Corp., Best Buy Co. and Barnes & Noble Inc.

EBay did not disclose terms of the acquisition, which marks the San Jose-based company's latest attempt to penetrate the world of offline retail and intermingle it with its online marketplace.

In June, eBay bought barcode-scanning iPhone app RedLaser, which lets you scan an actual product and see its price at online stores and on eBay. That helps you decide if you should buy the product right away or purchase it on the Web.
EBay will start incorporating Milo's data by adding it to the RedLaser app. It will add Milo's search results to eBay.com next year.

Mark Carges, eBay's chief technology officer, said the Milo purchase shows that the lines between "pure e-commerce and pure brick-and-mortar really are starting to blur."

People are increasingly using their phones these days to shop online while on the go, and they may use a phone or laptop to start looking for a product and then decide if they should buy it online or in a store. Some may even check out a product at a store and then decide to buy it online.

The acquisition also gives eBay shoppers more selection and more ways to buy, Carges said, which eBay believes will spur more traffic.
The company isn't worried that the tool will take sales away from eBay sellers. Rather, Carges said the expected rise in traffic will potentially help those who auction off items or sell "Buy It Now" fixed-price items that are shipped to buyers. EBay also intends to add inventory from small and local retailers to benefit eBay sellers who also have physical stores.

Jonathan Garriss, executive director of the Professional eBay Sellers Alliance, said there is a chance that Milo's addition to eBay would dilute traffic to the site. But he's not that worried about Milo hurting eBay sellers' businesses, noting that eBay already includes its classifieds ads in search results.

Milo will remain a stand-alone website for the time being at Milo.com, and the company's staff of about two dozen will join eBay, Carges said.

Design

The Asus has borrowed the details and the visual elements from the Lamborghini sports cars. The bull logo sits on the lid. This is the place which sports the Asus logo usually. The lid, on/off switch, base plate and the back edge all resemble the trim, interior, finish and spoiler of the higher end sports cars. The users who are new to the Lamborghini style will also praise the sense and the power in the design of the VX6.

The case is made of plastic which is complemented by a matte finished magnesium alloy used on the palm rest and on the keyboard surround. Keyboard

The Lamborghini VX6 uses an excellent keyboard. The keys are of pebble style and they are separated form one another with a substantial distance. The keys produce a tactile feedback and they travel pretty clearly. The end of the keystroke produces a hard impact which does not flex the keyboard bed. The arrow keys are of the normal size and are relatively easy to access without even looking at them. The enter key and the shift key on the right side are quite smaller. This keyboard is suitable for the users who type a lot because it does not make noise and the feedback level is quite good.

Touchpad

The touch pad is shaped like a parallelogram along with a silver border. This is sensitive only within the white colored corner markings. The finger slides are smooth with the smooth plastic surface. The surface has a film that accumulates the smudges made by the fingers. It also recognizes the multi touch gestures.

Display

The VX6 features a 12.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. the high definition resolution allows the users to view the web browser or the emails without much scrolling. The colors are quite attractive on this display. The screen has to improved when it comes to the glossy finish which causes reflections. The horizontal viewing angles are acceptable with up to 40 degrees on the either sides. The vertical viewing angles are very narrow being only up to 20 degrees.

Performance

The VX6 uses the latest mobile chipsets and processors. The processor and the dedicated graphics card are on the top of the features that are preferred by the technophile netbook fans. The device features the Optimus technology. The VX6 is capable playing the full high definition movies with no juddering and with low CPU usage. They are played smoothly. It has very good ergonomics which is a strength. It is very quiet in all the circumstances. It remains cool in all the tests relate to the CPU and GPU. The battery life is 3:36 hours under heavy usage and 6.11 hours under idle condition.

Ya, berkat koneksi Bluetooth dengan codec baru apt-X, gelombang audio ditransmisikan dalam kualitas optimal tanpa dipersulit untaian kabel. Sennheiser adalah salah satu produsen pertama yang menggunakan format ini pada headphone.Selain itu, PX 210 BT mempunyai magnet neodymium yang kuat dengan respon frekuensi 15 sampai 22.000 Hertz. Sennheiser telah mematenkan diafragma Duofol guna hampir menghilangkan gelombang berdiri secara menyeluruh.

Headphone PX 210 BT mampu menjangkau jarak hingga sepuluh meter. Artinya, sumber audio dapat dengan mudah disimpan dalam tas atau ransel ketika Anda bekerja. Untuk mengendalikan perangkat ini, langsung saja oprek earpiece-nya. Ada fungsi mengaktifkan atau menonaktifkan Bluetooth, mengatur volume, dan memilih lagu. Daya tahan baterenya bisa berlangsung selama 12 jam.

Sennheiser pun memikirkan portabilitas produk anyar ini supaya mudah dibawa ke mana-mana. PX 210 BT bersifat bisa dilipat (foldable), berukuran mungil, berbobot hanya 105 gram, tapi tetap nyaman digunakan karena bantalan telinga yang lembut.

PT Astrindo Senayasa selaku distributor resmi Sennheiser di Indonesia menyatakan, PX 210 BT telah tersedia sejak bulan Agustus lalu. Unit yang dijual sudah termasuk baterai Li-Polymer yang dapat diisi ulang, kabel, dan pengisi daya baterai.

Wih lama juga ya aku nggak posting apa - apa di blog ini,hahaha lagi - lagi karena kesibukanku di dunia "REAL",ya mencari alibi memang hal yang wajar,dan sifat dasar manusia emang sepert itu - tidak mau disalahkan - padahal kenyataan nya emang salah.Oke sekali lagi saya atas nama keluarga besar Jasmine Catherina mengucapkan minal aidin wal faizin,mohon maaf lahir and bathin.Jiaaahhh ngelantur ni tulisan saya,tapi nggak apa - apa lah,kita sekarang slow but sure aja oke.Hehehe.

Nah sebagai permohonan maafku, ( mumpung masih dalam suasana lebaran, ).Jasmine mau bawa temen - temen buat ngelihat review produk LG yang so slim n sexy ini,oke langsung aja yuk,seberapa sexy nya sih "LG W2363V" ???

Well,produk anyar ini memiliki kemampuan yang cukup memuaskan lho,padahal harganya hanya berkisar 330 dollar saja.Bukan cuma itu,LG W2363V ini mendukung HDMI,D-sub,DVI,bahkan untuk input component YPbPr ( RGB ) yang biasanya ditemukan pada produk TV consumer kelas atas,wow!!

Selain itu,pada HDMI,ia menyediakan dua port sekaligus di bagian samping monitor.Hal ini tentu saja akan membuatnya sebagai sumber display yang bisa digunakan pada unit yang memiliki output video kelas high-definition.

Selain dari sisi koneksi,monitor LCD LG ini juga menyediakan beberapa fitur ekstra yang berhubungan dengan operasional.Salah satunya adalah kontrol utama sentuh di bagian sisi kanan bawah monitor.

Ekstra lain nya adalah menu PIP yang memungkinkan mengintip isi konten pada saat itu,karena monitor ini dapat menerima sinyal input di semua port pada saat bersamaan.Bisa di katakan ia sebagai switch display tersendiri,meskipun untuk tipe koneksi yang berbeda - beda.
