Updated Raticate Wallet

2011-12-08T20:31:00.000-08:00

The first duct tape wallet I made started to fall apart due to the shitty construction.

It was my first time, so it wasn't so bad, but it didn't last as long as I had hoped.

So I tweaked some of the construction and layout and made sure to be really meticulous about it's measurements so it would last longer.

Here's the old one

:c his tail was coming off and the insides were falling apart.

and all of the adhesive was getting smudged and ugly.

This is ONYX-eptable

So I got to working on a new one.

BLUEPRINT

Cutting out the little beastie

How the inside of the wallet turned out, 4 card slots, 2 hidden pockets, 1 I.D. slot

Billfold complete with lettering ;D

Finished Product

I got rid of the borders because it looked too messy.

I liked this simple look a lot better.

It used up a lot less tape and came out looking clean and nice.

It came out better than I had expected, I liked it so much that I didn't want to give it away... again.

School's over so hopefully I can get back to posting blogs again, I missed it

:D see you guys later

Hell boy birthday :)

2011-10-23T13:02:00.000-07:00

Tons of birthdays this month!

I think handmade stenciled shirts make a kick ass gifts

They're inexpensive to make and the people receiving them usually love them.

It was my best friend's birthday not too long ago so i got him a Hell Boy themed birthday gift

Hellboy stenciled shirt

Figurines :D

Stenciled gift bag

EVEN stenciled balloons!

Tape all the things!

2011-10-04T19:48:00.001-07:00

So I decided to dabble a little more and start making some duct tape wallets. I've only made one so far, I made it to compliment a shirt I made for a friend.

I'm thinking of making some more.
This was my first time making one and I think it came out pretty sweet.

I just need more ideas I'm what kind to make. :)
Feel free to comment some suggestions.

Quick one

2011-09-27T10:08:00.000-07:00

Made another shirt today :D

This was for a friend of my brother's. It was her birthday yesterday.

I do not in any way condone such things.

It's a cutie mark from my little pony.

Hey Stranger

2011-09-13T16:54:00.000-07:00

HEY GUYS I miss posting. It's been a long time. I've been really busy with school and work now, I barely have any time to make any more shirts. I miss it. I made another one yesterday. It came out a little messy, but the person I'm giving it to liked it, so that's all that matters :)

WHO'S THAT POKEMON??!

1st layer

This is the most layers I've done so far, so it was a little hard.

2nd layer

3rd layer

4th layer

FINAL and toughest LAYER

End result.

I painted it with a mixture of fabric paint and acrylics.

I noticed that the water based acrylics are a lot more runny than fabric paint.

They're really cheap too. I got them @ Michaels for $0.59

I still have a little more to do on the shirt, but I'll post more later

Hopefully :D

Onesies so far.

2011-09-03T22:01:00.001-07:00

Thanks for the feedback!

I really appreciate it!

haha, dinosaurs seem like a good idea, I have to look for some really cool ones.

These are what I have so far:

Blank Canvas

2011-09-01T12:15:00.001-07:00

How I love blank canvas. So much potential. So many ideas.

But in this case there aren't enough.
:/

My friend gave me some onesies to stencil for her 16 month old. I haven't gotten started on painting them because I'm still not too sure on what to put on them. I haven't started partly because I've been busy with the new fall semester and partly because I hate doing half assed work so I'm not going to it my heart into it, I don't even bother getting started.

So give me some ideas friends! And I'll see if I can make it happen.

CONTEST WINNER!

2011-08-22T17:01:00.001-07:00

I finally did it!
took me a good while, some trial and error but I got it!

There he is, getting ready for his debut

He just woke up and was feeling lazy...

I shuffled and layed out the cards in a random order and he wasn't having any of it.

Then I remembered that he's a total binger and loves treats

So I put a little piece on every card, and whichever was eaten last would take the cake.

See how it all went down, and who the winner is!

Congrats to the winner! Send me a message and We'll discuss all the details ;)

Getting ready

2011-08-21T22:49:00.001-07:00

Harley aka Harlitos is away with my siblings for the weekend but I'm getting ready for him to sniff out a winner tomorrow! Please excuse the delay, I've just been held up since my fall semester is gonna start up again tomorrow. :D

I wrote all your names down on little note cards. Harley will be picking one of you for the shirt. :) I'm kinda excited to see how this turns out. I'll post pictures of the pup in action.

See you guys tomorrow.

Picking the winner :)

2011-08-20T17:34:00.000-07:00

So I decided to be a little more creative than putting all you guys' names in a random generator.

I decided to make it a little more fun.

I'm writing all your names on little note cards.

and then I'm going to lay them all out and have this little guy pick one.

Don't worry, he's very impartial and has no favorites.

I promise you he'll be fair.

Sorry for the delay but I've been a little busy the past couple days.

I'll post the winner reallly soon!

Good luck and thanks again!

New Project

2011-08-12T16:47:00.001-07:00

Just a little peek at what I'm currently working on.

Guess what it is.

Not so hot

2011-08-11T21:39:00.001-07:00

The weather lately has been really bumming me out

I feel like I can't go out and enjoy the day with out feeling like I'm going to die of heat exhaustion as soon as I step out of the door.

Stepping inside my car is like walking into a preheated oven, I can't even touch the steering wheel without getting 3rd degree burns.

It's that humid kind of hot.

I can't wait for fall to arrive.

I miss days like these.

Days you feel you've gotten the most out of and you've accomplished something.

School is coming up really soon, and I'm excited. This lack of stimulation was driving my crazy.

Time to go back to school for some more doodling while the professor talks. :)

+1000000 Points if you know where that guy is from.

I noticed something today.

It really bothers me when people push my opinion or ideas aside. I've had that done to me all my life. It irritates me, makes me angry, so angry it makes me want to cry but not of sadness, but out of frustration. What bothers me even more is how much I let it get to me. I've always felt that, "Quiet Child, adults are speaking." feeling. Whether it's with my parents or friends or classmates. Classmates especially, but I get over that rather quickly because I could not give more of a shit about them. I'm too emotional I suppose, I think with my emotions and sometimes it's my downfall. But will I do something about it? Probably not. Why? I feel that it's a waste of energy. Granted, getting upset over things like this is a waste of energy but at least I keep it to myself rather than go through the whole process of arguing with someone.

Ick. Idk. What do you guys think?

That's enough emo crap for today eh? I feel better :)

Nope.

2011-08-09T17:31:00.000-07:00

Quick little update:

Working on contest winner http://kotchcomputers.blogspot.com/ 's t-shirt atm

It's coming out pretty good.

Wish me luck, I'm about to start the painting process.

I'll do another little contest sometime next week. I'm having too much fun doing this. :)

Thanks guys and have an awesome day.

2011-08-05T23:41:00.000-07:00

Good morning Starshine! The Earth says, "Hello!"

Jackson hasn't replied, so here's hoping for who ever is #2 on the random list that he doesn't.

I started on another project that I'm now in the process of finishing.

Wanna see my process?

Well Alright.

Tools: Pencil, Marker, Eraser and Exacto Knife

I made this one for my younger brother who is gaga over this MLP thing.

After the Image is drawn on Freezer/Waxpaper (shiny side down)

begin the immensely tedious task of cutting out the image.

This was a 2 layer image so I had to cut out another set for the grey color

Then I ironed the waxy part down on the t-shirt and proceeded to paint it with fabric paint

This was just a mixture of black and white, no need to get a grey color

After it dries --about 15 or so minutes I went over it with another coat of grey.

let it set for another 15 and then gently peel off the wax paper.

Pretty Sweet.

Now for the next image, which will be in white

Again, Iron it on the t-shirt so it sticks and give it two coats of white fabric paint.

Wait a couple minutes for it to dry, and peel.

Ta-da! This should be the end result.

The whole process took me about 4 hours, I get frustrated from time to time but it's worth it in the end.

I still have to go in for some minor re-touches, but other than that it's ready to go!

I need to finish it up before my brother gets back from his night out.

He's so going to flip!

San Japan was pretty effing awesome!

I'm going back tomorrow hopefully.

This time I'm not leaving until I get my turn @ Super Smash Brothers Brawl!

Maybe I'll even enter in the tourney.

Here's a little bit of what I saw today, more to come tomorrow!

Have a good one!

Fun all over your face

2011-08-05T13:10:00.000-07:00

I did it!

Winner is in!

dun dun dun!

I made a list of all the comments and put them in a random generator.

These were the results!

Jackson K.!

You win!

I'll be sending you a message to get your contact info and shirt size and all that good stuff later.

Congrats to you!

On the Agenda for today:

I'm going to San Japan!

It's an anime convention here in San Antonio, like comicon but less... spectacular.

So I'll be taking lot's of pictures!

See you guys later and thanks again.

I'll make more of these contest things in the near future. :)

Have a good one.

The best kind of prize is a SURprise

2011-08-04T19:07:00.000-07:00

I'll be announcing the winner of the contest in a couple of hours.

Good luck guys :)

I've had a ton of fun reading everything all of you have to say.

I found this really cool website that allows you to make your own Favicon

http://www.favicon.cc/

If you notice, my blog no longer has the orange and white"B" for blogger logo.

It's supposed to be a picture of Kirby from super smash brothers

Can you make it out?

I noticed that a lot of you guys are newbies like me so I though I'd share that so you guys can make your blog a little more personal.

This is what you have to work with. A 16x16 pixel frame

It even gives you a preview of what it will look like.

Once you create it, save it to your computer. it goes in your design tab, on the Favicon box

Like this:

You guys should check it out. Especially you guys with art skills !

I'd like to see what you come up with

Have fun!

Isn't whipped cream if it hasn't been whipped with whips

2011-08-03T09:15:00.000-07:00

I miss Photoshop.

I used to do it all the time.

Using PS to mess around with this picture really took be back. I want to get back into it.

I have so much fun.

Make sure you all you guys post something on my previous post for a chance to get a custom made shirt!

(and no, doesn't have to be one of the designs I showed, it can be anything. you pick)

Winner will be announced Friday Aug. 4, 2011

so if you haven't commented already, please do.

People watching is so much fun.

It's even more fun when you have someone to people watch with you.

Chick-fil-a nom nom nom, awesome place to "watch the cows eat"

I decided to try something new @ Starbucks... I'm not sure if I'm ordering incorrectly or maybe that's just the way it is.

I got a vanilla bean frappuccino

It really just tasted like vanilla ice cream.

Their whipped cream makes my mouth feel weird.

What do you guys usually order @ Starbucks, maybe I'll check it out next time.

Feeling creative :)

2011-08-02T11:22:00.000-07:00

I recently got into making my own t-shirts!

I've made some for me and some for friends and they've come out pretty damn sweet.

(If I do say so myself...)

Here's a little bit of what I've accomplished so far..

I made this for premiere night of Harry Potter :)

I made these little onesies for my friend's 14 month old baby

I did this as a test run, it came out pretty sweet for my first time...

I decided to have a little contest for all my new friends just to say thanks!

Just post a comment below and tell me what you want on your shirt.

I'll get a random # generator and announce the winner in.. let's say... 3 days?

Let me know what you think, and if you want to participate!

If you win, just choose your shirt size and shirt color and design.

I'll get your address and all that info from you privately.

I'll try my best to do it for you!

Thanks to all of you guys and good luck!

Day by Day.

2011-08-01T22:38:00.000-07:00

I'm super lazy.

I have these days where I catch up on everything too fast and I exhaust myself.

Why can't I just do everything little by little like normal people do?

This lack of school is making me dumb.

Yesterday I was talking to M.F and I somehow said "Hard is life" in a sentence and completely missed it... I didn't even correct myself. What I meant to say was life is hard.

And today @ subway I asked for a "footlong italian herbs and cheese on parmesan oregano"

WTF?

The lady told me, uh you just ordered two different breads...

SHIT

Sorry, I meant spicy Italian.

My mind is elsewhere today.

Maybe I'm too tired, I only got 4 hours of sleep last night, but boy was it fun.

I want to make a trip to Borders soon.

They're going out of business... I LOVE that place.. bookstores bring out the best in me. I'm like a kid in a candystore only I'm not a kid and I'm not in a candy store. I'm a college student in a bookstore with too many things on my wishlist.

Tomorrow for sure.

I say that way too much and end up not doing anything "tomorrow" I dont know why I put things off till the last minute. Maybe it's my fear of responsibility.

Picture # 3 Fave Food:

Thai sweet and sour chicken

I could eat this everyday.... yummo

2011-06-29T00:12:00.000-07:00

Patience.

or, Impatience rather.

It's something I need to work on. I frustrate myself easily when it come to waiting for things. I need a useless button for every time I want things to go faster.

Like the "close door" button in elevators or the "Press for crosswalk signal" buttons at stop lights. Buttons that have no real use other than to make humans feel better. Placebo much? meh.

I came home relatively early tonight. I've been making a habit out of staying out pretty late. 3, 4, even 5 am. I miss that sometimes... Summer nights.

Conversing about nothing and everything at times. Hopes and aspirations, chichis and weenies, the future, the past, the now, what we want, what we need, what we think we need, what we like, dislike or absolutely abhor, feelings and emotions or a lack thereof, just... stuff.,

I'm starting to get sick. My throat is starting to get sore and my nose is starting to get runny. I need to get ready for the shittiest 4 days of the summer... ugh, how I hate illness.

Picture #2- Favorite Animal

Aren't they adorable?

not to mention delicious.
