Animal Photography - The Johor Zoo

The Johor Bahru zoo is one of the oldest in the country. It was built in 1928 by Sultan Sir Ibrahim and was handed over to the state government to manage in the 1960s and open to the public in 1962.

There are 100 species of animals in the 5ha compound. The entrance fees is RM2 for adults and RM1 for chilren. The zoo opens daily from 8am to 6pm and is visited most during public holidays and school holidays.

This shot was taken during the arranged mating session for the lion breeding in Johor Zoo.

Chong Wei desperately needs a psychological boost over nemesis Lin Dan

LEE Chong Wei will be out to start his year with a title yet again but the form of nemesis Lin Dan will be the biggest stumbling block in the Korea Open which begins with the qualifying rounds in Seoul today.

The tournament offers the highest prize money of US$90,000 (RM285,300) for the men’s singles champion and Lin Dan was the player who walked away with the winner’s cheque last year and is the red hot favourite again.

The draw favours Chong Wei’s path to the final as he only needs to overcome old foes Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia or Peter Gade Christensen of Denmark en route to the final while Lin Dan and his compatriots Chen Long and Chen Jin are in the bottom half.

There is a possibility Christensen, 35, may get knocked out in the first round as he plays China’s Du Pengyu in his opening match and if this happens, Chong Wei would expect a likely semi-final tussle against Taufik.

Chong Wei opens his campaign against P. Kashyap of India tomorrow, could meet South Korean Shon Wan Ho in the second round and is expected to play either Kenichi Tago of Japan or Nguyen Tien Minh of Vietnam in the last eight.

Lin Dan, who defeated Chong Wei four times in five meetings last year, has an easy first round encounter against Pablo Abian of Spain, followed by a tricky second round meeting against Lee Hyun Il of South Korea before a possible quarter-final showdown against Chen Jin.

His semi-final opponent is likely to be Chen Long, which should go in Lin Dan’s favour.

This is because China shuttlers normally take it easy against their compatriots and this will ensure Lin Dan is fresh when he plays Chong Wei in the possible final on Sunday.

Men’s doubles Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong are down to meet defending champions Jung Jae Sung-Lee Yong Dae in the last eight and will be desperate to avoid another defeat.

They have only beaten the Koreans twice in 12 meetings and will be hoping that the rumours of Jae Sung-Yong Dae skipping the tournament are true.

Women’s doubles Wong Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui are in danger of losing out on a place in the Olympics and they must overcome Taiwanese rivals Cheng Wen Hsing-Chien Yu Chin in the first round.

8-Year-Old Nigerian Boy in Prison

On 10 December, Human Rights Day commemorated the sixty-third anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which includes “the right to life, liberty and security of person.”

Hi semua!

Pernah tak korang terfikir bagaimana caranya nak 'save' budget untuk printing album kahwin? Especially untuk fotografer macam korang ni?

Sebagai contoh, seorang customer hendakkan album custom album 8x12 - BUKAN STICKY ALBUM tetapi HOT PRESS ALBUM ataupun lebih dikenali dengan jolokan 'custom album' di kalangan fotografer?

Oh ya! Kalau tak silap saya di KL ada satu tempat yang boleh print murah ni... bukan setakat print hot press tetapi siap dengan 'style' atau trend terkini seperti Glass Cover Album, Window Album, Wrapping Album dan bermacam-macam trend terbaru. Yang bestnya ----- HARGA TETAP SAMA MURAH! Kualiti tip top.

Tapi bagaimana ya kalau fotografer tu tinggal jauh nun di Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, JB, Perlis, even Sabah or Sarawak? Takkan la nak pergi ulang-alik naik flight? Nak naik bas pun belum tentu berbaloi.

Tapi saya ada caranya. Dan saya dah buat pun dengan ramai fotografer 'luar KL'. Bukan apa, as long as dia seorang fotografer, tak kira la freelance atau full time, saya akan tolong. Sebab saya start dulu pun ada orang tolong saya selok-belok dunia fotografi ni.

Caranya mudah saja, apa yang fotografer ni perlu buat adalah menghantar CD yang terdapat gambar untuk di print menjadi album - Dalam bentuk JPG atau PSD. Ukuran, saiz pixel, dpi dsb. akan diberikan melalui emel.

Once album siap (lebih kurang dalam seminggu) - saya akan poskan kepada anda pakai POS LAJU (bukan pos biasa). Mudah dan jiwa tenang.

Oh! Tetapi bagaimana pula sekiranya gambar tu x ikut saiz (tersilap design la tu), salah taip perkataan, dan apa-apa minor mistake bila dapat CD nanti? Jangan risau, asalakan ianya minor mistake dan boleh dibetulkan, saya akan menghubungi fotografer tersebut dan minta kebenaran untuk ubah atau repair sikit pada gambar tersebut.

Bukan itu sahaja, album yang telah siap juga akan diteliti semula dan sekiranya ada mistake, RE-PRINTING akan dilakukan - juga setelah menghubungi fotografer tersebut.

Murah sangat ke saya charge?

Harga tu sebenarnya subjektif dan tertakluk kepada kualiti album tersebut. Dengan kadar yang dibayar, tanpa perlu turun ke KL dan sebagainya, ianya amat berbaloi sekali.

Sebagai contoh, untuk album 8x12 (Hot Press, Glass cover, berkotak, nice texture, leather, berbau harum -bau leather, siap wrapping dan pos) apa lagi yang anda mahukan? Harga cuma bayar saya RM250 bersih.

Kalau teringin nak servis ni, tetapi hanya untuk fotografer sahaja (kad nama atau portfolio link diperlukan) silalah berhubung dengan saya.
