Men of the NBA Featuring Chris "Birdman" Andersen (not Anderson!)

Hullo!

Still not getting married, right, Chris?

LOOKIE HERE NOW!

Thanks for hanging in. PLEASE get the word out about this amazing photo by Chad!

He shoots, he scores, he sprains his ankle

2010-01-11T09:19:00.000-08:00

This season is a test of Andersen's recovery from drugs. He starts off on top of the world and hits like a lead ballon within weeks. His fans want him to open up a can of Whoop-Ass this year. We are getting stale Cheez-Whiz instead. I would take an expired Red Bull at this point, Birdman.

Chris Andersen, the Birdman, is handling the disappointing season with aplomb. It's some bad luck, I think, and maybe some nerves? Lotta pressure on the guy and his not even 30, is he?

He should set an example for youth, though, and sell that stupid truck. Then get a tattoo on the back his neck that says "mistakes were made."

Y'all seen this one? Oldie but goodie. Shooby Ooby.

You wanted to see Birdman's gorgeous fiancee?

2009-12-26T10:31:00.000-08:00

News flash: see my more recent post. Looks like Mr. Anersen is dating someone other than Ms. Newman. Too bad; I had started to admire her.

Oh, lookee who's all grabby with da ball! (From Denver Post)

2009-12-23T13:39:00.000-08:00

I recommend the article. They say he's playing better now...kinda got off to a soft start this season. Injury and all that. Please leave a comment if you know where there are good pictures of his tattoos.

This one always inspires!

A little biographical stuff

2009-12-16T08:44:00.001-08:00

Everything you ever wanted to know about Chris Andersen.

Chris was born in Long Beach, Ca. He's 6 ft 10 in tall, and weighs about 228. How he pulls that off is a mystery. He plays for the Denver Nuggets as center/power forward. His talent is for shot-blocking and dunks, though there's a bit of a rough patch on his road to dunking fame. More on his life below.

Here he is talking...for the girls...would you talk to this over orange juice every morning for the rest of your life, or are we treating this as a rental?

I know this video is OLD! It's part of the historical record.

He grew up in Iola Texas, living in a rural setting with his grandmother. He didn't get drafted into the NBA out of school (he went to Blinn College), but he did go play in China. He got his ass into a few teams like New Orleans and something else--maybe the hornets? And the ended up on the Nuggets.

He plays like a madman and girls love him. Guys do too, which is getting somewhat interesting!

I post the dunk here for two reasons: 1. It's funny 2. He didn't quit.

Watch it and see. Lean a little about guts. Oh, and he killed the following year.

This ma blog.

I have a slogan:

MenoftheNBA.com: Where Getting Your Feathers Wet Happens!

<-- That picture of Chris is looking at my slogan funny.

Good morning Birdies. What's the big guy been up to?

2009-12-15T07:48:00.000-08:00

The following email was in my inbox today. A news alert about Birdman's Santa stunt:

Turns out he's been letting folks sit on his lap. Dang.

Where do I sign up, you ask?

Girls, I am trying real hard to find out where the next gig is.

(Chris, you put a Santa Suit on for charity, out of the kindness of your great big heart. What's a girl got to do to see that red jacket draped over the back of a chair?)

Another reason Birdman Andersen should not get married.
