Cate was already a beauty and we decided on a fresh natural look.

I used the Plum pencil and Spice Berry trio on her eyes. Primer in Natural finished with Natural Light pressed powder and Pink Pearl on her cheeks makes for a gorgeous look that is enhancing and protecting her skin!

The lovely “do” model pictured here is our beauty co-ordinator, Samantha Horn. This was a practice run, as Sam will be getting married this September. We are all having a ball practicing our favorite looks on her. The makeup was done by one of our wonderful makeup artists, Lois-Anne Hubbard.

Friends from my National Aesthetic Spa Network (NASN) meeting at the Bayliss Ranch to watch a distillation of lavender.

My idea of Heaven? Being surrounded by beauty, brains and unlimited possibilities.  That just where I went when I visited Bayliss Ranch last week. Donna Bayliss has been a client and friend for many years and she invited me and a group of my esthetician friends for a visit to a harvest and distillation of her organic lavender. The best description of this wonderful woman comes from her website: “For more than 20 years, Donna Bayliss has been a staunch advocate of organic and sustainable agriculture. Considered the matriarch of certified organic botanicals and their use in personal care and cosmetic products, she has been at the forefront in creating and adopting organic certifications, opening up new domestic and international markets for agricultural products and fostering cross-cultural/international cooperation.”

Donna’s lavender products are the purest I’ve ever seen or experienced. We’re hoping to bring them to the Mendocino Beauty shop online and to the store soon. Stay tuned!

Samantha was trained at The World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts in several healing modalities including: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Vibrational Healing and Lymphatic Drainage. She spent the last year working as a therapist in the SOMA district of San Francisco where she honed her skills as a body worker and deepened her passion for the work itself. Her love for the beautiful rugged Mendocino coast and the people that live here brought her to Mendocino Beauty. She believes that beauty radiates from within and begins with an inner sense of well being. She is motivated to help you facilitate that sense of well being in your body, mind and spirit.
