A partir de 3 entrevistes, realitzades al juny de 2009 amb Gemma Sendra, Berta Sureda i Xavier Marcé, proposem 7 seqüències temàtiques per analitzar els plantejaments generals de política cultural que es van iniciar amb el primer govern d’esquerres de la Generalitat de Catalunya; la nova arquitectura del Departament de Cultura, els objectius, prioritats, accions y les seves conseqüències. Revisem també el que va significar per aquestes noves polítiques el canvi de la Conselleria de Cultura del PSC a Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya i la transició a l’actual CoNCA – Consell Nacional de la Cultura i de les Arts.

En paral·lel publiquem “OBRIR ELS POSSIBLES. Els reptes d’una política cultural avui“, un text generat per Marina Garcés per acompanyar i desplaçar cap a entorns saludables la reflexió sobre els futurs que volem i podem projectar per a la cultura.

Gemma Sendra Planas és gestora cultural amb una llarga trajectòria en la que destaca la seva tasca com a Gerent del Gran Teatre del Liceu en la fase de la seva reconstrucció i definició de funcionament del nou teatre (1993/2001), Direcció executiva de programes del Fòrum Universal de les Cultures de Barcelona (2001), Gerent del Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (2002/2004) i la Secretaria General del Departament de

Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya (2004/2006). També ha realitzat nombrosos estudis d’anàlisis i plans de funcionament en diferents àmbits de la cultura per l’Ajuntament de Barcelona, el Ministeri de Cultura, la Generalitat de Catalunya i d’altres entitats privades.
