On Wednesday, The Phillies called upon Dominic Brown to replace center fielder Shane Victorino, who strained his left abdominal.  Victorino was sent to the disabled list for the Phillies, opening up the spot for Brown.

His injury came on Tuesday night when the Phillies were playing Arizona.  Victorino was sliding back to first base when the strain occurred.

Brown has been having an exceptional year in the minor league batting .327 with 20 home runs, and 68 RBI’s.  Brown will be starting on Wednesday night against Arizona.

Crable was drafted in the third round of the 2008 NFL draft, and never played a single regular season game for the Patriots.  For the first 8 games of his rookie year he was inactive, and then injured his shin.  In 2009, he injured his groin, and was again put on injured reserve.

After being put on the active physically-unable-to-perform list yesterday, just one day shy of the opening day of training camp, many believed that it would be the final straw for Crable.  Today, that suspicion was confirmed as the Patriots officially released him.

Amazon was taking orders on Wednesday, and has been emailing customers giving them an estimated delivery time.  Those who order the device will be charged for it until it ships out.

Many believe that Amazon wanted to kill the competition with Barnes & Noble’s similar e-reader known as the Nook.  The Kindle was cut in price, just hours after the Nook was dropped to $199.  Amazon’s Kindle was priced $10 under the Nook.

Analysts believe that the companies aren’t going to make as much with the lower prices, but with the e-book market starting to grow, they will be able to make profits by getting more people to buy the devices, and then subsequently buying e-books.

Sony picked up Streep’s last comedy “Julie & Julia,” and was the top candidate for the movie since word of it spread.  The story of “Mommy & Me” is entirely secret at the moment, but it is believed to show the funny relationship between the mother and daughter.

The producers of the film are going to be Lucy Barzun Donnelly, Wren Arthur, and Tory Tunnell.

This will not be the first time that Streep has worked with Tucci.  The pair worked together both in “The Devil Wears Prada” and in “Julie & Julia.”

This year’s newest attractions brought in visitors from all over the United States wanting to partake in the activities.  There will be a mixed martial arts competition taking place on Wednesday as well as a snake show and diving show.  Having so much history, some of the oldest traditions are still a healthy part of the fair even today.

One of the most popular traditions having over 100 years of history at the fair is the butter sculpture tradition.  Each year a cow is sculpted entirely from butter, but this year promises even more.  This year along with the cow, the Cincinnati Bengal’s safety Chinedum Ndukwe and the Cleveland Browns tackle Joe Thomas will also be sculpted in butter.

Other draws to the fair will be the dance team performances and the boxing tournament planned to take place.
