The KW Variant 4 coilover kit with its three-way high-performance dampers now unleashes the current Mercedes-AMG GT top model GT R (Type 197). With KW suspension, the 585 hp “Gran Turismo” is even more saturated on the tarmac, even on poor side roads, the dampers prevent an inharmonious driving behavior. With the possibility of adjusting the damping forces separately in rebound as well as in low speed and high speed compression stage, the pre-set performance adjustment of the Variant 4 can be changed to a more comfort-oriented setup.

A stepless lowering of up to 45 millimeters is possible. Optionally, a hydraulic lift system (KW HLS) is available for the KW coilover kit and the standard suspension. At the push of a button, the hydraulic lifting cylinders allow to lift the front of the AMG GT R while driving by 40 millimeters in order to overcome speed bumps and steep parking garage ramps.

The cooperation between the suspension manufacturer KW automotive and Mercedes-AMG goes back to a successful history. Countless AMG Black Series models are already equipped from the factory with KW suspensions. KW also works closely with Mercedes-AMG for racing. For example, the Mercedes-AMG GT4 from the Mercedes customer sport program is delivered to the motorsport teams with KW Competition racing dampers. While according to the regulations two-way KW high performance dampers are used in the Mercedes racing car, the KW coilovers Variant 4 from the “KW Street Performance” delivery program has three-way high-performance shock absorbers. Whether on a trip to the racetrack or for everyday life, with the new KW coilover kit, the GT R is lying fully on the road. With the Variant 4, the Mercedes-AMG acts neutral on load changes and has a direct steering behavior.

On poor roads with a wavy asphalt surface, the suspension dampens harmoniously and prevents restless driving. Nodding and rolling movements of the body structure are significantly reduced. “The separately adjustable rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression stage give our customers numerous options to adapt their AMG GT R on their personal driving demand and no longer have to live with the compromise of the series”, said KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. “The standard suspension only gives the choice between the Dynamic Select driving modes ‘Comfort’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Sport Plus’.” The three-way valve technology of the Variant 4 with its 16 clicks for rebound forces, six clicks in low-speed compression level (seven characteristic lines) and 15 clicks in high-speed compression (16 characteristic lines) allow to individually adjust the Mercedes-AMG GT R in driving behavior to the personal preferences of the driver.

This multi-valve technology also makes it possible to consider the grip level of the tires when changing from road tires to sport tires. Even with maximum lowering and fast driving over bumps or large transverse joints, the wheels spring in through the blow-off characteristics of the Variant 4 dampers. The KW coilover suspension allows on the front axle of the AMG GT R a continuous lowering from 20 to 40 millimeters and at the drive axle from 20 to 45 millimeters.

Hydraulic lift kit for Mercedes-AMG suspension and KW Variant 4

Many super cars and sports cars are often equipped with hydraulic lift systems from the factory. “For the AMG GT R, there is no lift kit on the option list”, explains KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker. “If you still want to get more ground clearance at the touch of a button, you can equip your AMG with our proven KW HLS.” The lift kit is available in various options for the KW Variant 4 and also for the standard suspension. Depending on the setup, the hydraulic lifting cylinders increase the ground clearance of the GT R by 40 millimeters. The KW coilovers Variant 4 with its three-way high-performance shock absorbers are also available as a set with the hydraulic lift system or the KW HLS in conjunction with a KW coilover spring set where the series dampers can further be used.

This know-how is also benefitting the latest Lorinser development, the LO light-alloy wheel. The mono-block wheel is cast using special aluminium alloy, in a retro-look and is a new version of a Lorinser design from the 80’s. Not only does this make the deeply cupped Lorinser wheel stylishly eye-catching on classic automobiles, it also allows car testing centres to enter this with an H registration on vintage cars.

With dimensions 8×16 ET11, 9×16 ET11 and 8×16 ET22, it has been developed to target the Mercedes series 107, 126, 116 and 123.

The Sportservice Lorinser LO light-alloy wheel is finished with a silver-coloured coating and a UV-resistant surface treatment, and costs from 460 Euro (net).

The turbocharged four-liter V8 (M177) under the hood generates no less than 800 HP / 588 kW of power and 1,000 Nm of torque after getting a power enhancing treatment from G-POWER. Compared to the standard 467 HP of the C 63 off the line, this means an increase of a whopping 324 HP and 350 Nm. Thus, the AMG easily reaches the same level of performance as purebred supercars: after only 3.4 seconds from a standing position, the car has already sprinted to a speed of 100 km/h. And even after that, the car just keeps on accelerating at an impressive pace: this Mercedes does not reach its top speed until well beyond the 330 km/h mark.

An exciting video on the vehicle can be viewed at the following link: https://youtu.be/2gDkeFh-THo</a

The reason for this outstanding performance boost is for one thing the well-known G-POWER Performance Software V4, which currently comes with a price advantage of 35% G-POWER´s current anniversary year, as does the supplementary offer of a cancellation of the top speed limitation

But of course, this kind of enhancement cannot be achieved by optimizing the engine software alone. For instance, the V8 engine of the C63 was provided with the G-POWER turbocharger modification V2, which entails comprehensively optimizing the chargers with larger CNC-machined compressor and turbine wheels, an optimized compressor housing and an enlarged intake area. Overall, these changes reduce the exhaust gas back pressure, increase the air flow and lower the exhaust gas temperature, among other things.

And after the HURRICANE RR engine conversion, the engine itself comes out significantly optimized. G-POWER installs lighter and sturdier forged pistons which help reduce the compression, optimizes the manifold and installs a high-performance fuel pump. What is more, a new intake system with a high-flow air filter for an optimized fresh air supply and stainless-steel downpipes round off the engine conversion. And the seven-speed sports transmission on the AMG C 63 is also reinforced in order to withstand the phenomenal torque.

In this case, the look of the G-POWER C 63 AMG also makes it unmistakably clear just what it´s made of. This is not only thanks to the striking camouflage look applied here- the wheel cases also boast a set of the company´s own “HURRICANE RR” 20-inch forged rims. These double-spoke wheels made of high-tech aircraft aluminum with their jet black finish and high-sheen surface – the G-POWER DIAMOND CUT – are a perfect match for the look of the body. They are fitted with high-performance 255/30 ZR20 and 285/30 ZR20 tires.

With the recently presented facelift for the Mercedes S-Class, the sportiest variant of the model series, the S 63 4MATIC, as well as the most luxurious version, the Mercedes-Maybach S 650, were also thoroughly revised. BRABUS naturally offers especially exclusive refinement product ranges for both new models.

The BRABUS B40-700 PowerXtra performance upgrade lends the new four-liter (243 cu in) twin-turbo V8 of the latest S 63 an impressive output of 515 kW / 700 HP (691 bhp) and peak torque of 950 Nm (701 lb-ft) at a low 3,500 rpm.
BRABUS offers the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine for the Mercedes-Maybach S 650, which provides the luxury liner with an enormous rated power output of 662 kW / 900 HP (888 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft). Top speed is in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

BRABUS does of course not focus solely on high performance. The automotive refinement specialist also offers tailor-made aerodynamic-enhancement components, hi-tech forged wheels and exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior design for both models.

The latest S 63 is powered by a turbocharged V8 engine with a displacement of 3,982 cc (243 cu in). The BRABUS power unit engineers developed an efficient performance upgrade also for this engine. In extensive tests on state-of-the-art test benches and on the road, they developed new mapping for injection and ignition, and also reprogrammed the electronic boost pressure control. The new plug-and-play engine control system is adapted to the electronic engine control unit of the S 63 4MATIC. After the installation, the engine produces an extra 64.7 kW / 88 HP (87 bhp) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) more torque.

With a rated power output of 515 kW / 700 HP (691 bhp) at a low 6,100 rpm and a peak torque of 950 Nm (701 lb-ft) at a low 3,500 rpm, the all-wheel-drive luxury sedan sprints from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). A BRABUS Vmax module that will make even higher top speeds possible is already under development.

A similar upgrade is also available for the S 560 version of the Mercedes-Maybach. It boosts the power output of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to 478 kW / 650 HP (641 hp) and bumps peak torque to 820 Nm (605 lb-ft).

BRABUS offers high-performance at its finest for the Mercedes-Maybach S 650, which with its 12-cylinder twin-turbo engine producing 390 kW / 530 HP (523 bhp) ex-factory is anything but underpowered. However, powered by the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine, the luxury liner attains a performance level previously the exclusive domain of the world’s most powerful super sports cars. This engine is also available for the S 600 and the S 65 models.

To this end, the company hi-tech engine shop employs the tried and proven principle of increasing the engine’s displacement. To enlarge the swept volume from 6.0 to 6.3 liters (366 to 384 cu in), a custom BRABUS billet crankshaft with longer stroke, forged pistons with a larger diameter, and precision-balanced connecting rods are installed, and the cylinders are bored.

Extensive modifications to the engine peripherals are equally indispensable to achieve the desired high level of performance. The two production turbos are replaced with turbochargers that have larger compressor units and larger turbines, which are adapted to the V12 engine with the help of special exhaust manifolds. In addition, the conversion includes downpipes with a diameter of 80 millimeters (3.1 in), free-flow metal catalysts and a stainless-steel BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with actively controlled exhaust flaps.

Numerous modifications were also made on the intake side to ensure the engine’s optimized air supply. The carbon BRABUS 900 intake module, which draws its air through an air duct in the hood directly from the redesigned radiator grille, is immediately distinguishable. The new intake manifold includes a special air filter box with larger cross-section and special filters as well as “Gold Heat Reflection” sheathing for lowering the temperature.

All high-performance components of and modifications to the engine are perfectly calibrated to work together by newly programmed mapping for injection, boost pressure control and ignition. This guarantees not only maximum power delivery, but also compliance with the strict limits of the current EURO VI emissions standard.

After the conversion, the V12 engine, which is operated exclusively with hi-tech motor oil from MOTUL, has a peak output of 662 kW / 900 HP (888 bhp) at a low 5,500 rpm and produces a gigantic peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) at 4,200 rpm.

Despite a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 2.8 tons, the BRABUS supercar based on the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 delivers a level of performance usually only achieved by a few full-blooded super sports cars: Powered by the BRABUS ROCKET 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo engine, the four-seater accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).

The BRABUS 900 engine just recently provided impressive proof of its performance capabilities at an event of German car magazine AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS, which organized an acceleration contest for tuned supercars at the test track in Papenburg, Germany: The distance was exactly 3,000 meters. The largest and with a curb weight of 2,250 kilograms (4,960 lbs.) heaviest vehicle in the starting field: a BRABUS ROCKET 900 based on the Mercedes S 65. From rest, the high-performance luxury sedan from Bottrop reached a speed of 340.3 km/h (211.4 mph) over a distance of just three kilometers.

Like every BRABUS component, all high-performance variants are also backed by the exemplary three-year or 100,000-kilometer/62,000-mile BRABUS Tuning Warranty® (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). The hi-tech lubricants for the entire powertrain of all models come from technology partner MOTUL.

BRABUS sport exhaust systems with electronic sound management via actively controlled exhaust flaps deliver performance and a thrilling exhaust note. They are available with various tailpipe designs for all new models and offer the driver the possibility of regulating the exhaust note from inside the cockpit. The ‘Coming Home’ mode is quieter than the production exhaust. With exhaust flaps open, the respective engine sounds even sportier and more powerful than with the production exhaust system.

The aerodynamic properties are crucial in light of the enormous road performance that all BRABUS supercars based on the new S-Class are capable of. The BRABUS designers developed tailor-made naked-carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components for the facelift generation of the S 63. The front is given a markedly dynamic styling with the BRABUS front spoiler lip and the front bumper attachments. In addition, the front fenders on either side are upgraded with a naked-carbon BRABUS design element. The integrated BRABUS logo is optionally available in an illuminated version whose lights are activated by operating the key fob or by pulling on a door handle.

The LEDs integrated into the underside of the BRABUS rocker panels will then also light up. The underbody lighting makes it safer to approach the car in the dark and helps avoid stepping into a pothole or puddle. Also backlit – optionally with changing colors – are the BRABUS stainless scuff plates for all four doors.

The BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement concept for the new S 63 is rounded off with the BRABUS rear bumper featuring an integrated naked-carbon diffuser and tailor-made cutouts for the BRABUS sport exhaust system, as well as with the rear spoiler.

The sporty-elegant BRABUS look for the Mercedes-Maybach, which is almost 21 centimeters (8.3 in) longer than the long-wheelbase version of the current S-Class, is characterized by the aerodynamic-enhancement components, which were newly developed in the wind tunnel for the current S-Class and are manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade PUR.

The BRABUS front bumper, which was also newly developed for the facelift model, replaces the production bumper in its entirety. It provides not only a visual upgrade, but thanks to the integrated front spoiler also reduces front axle lift at high speeds, thereby further improving the handling stability. The large air intakes in the BRABUS bumper optimize the supply of fresh air to radiators, engine and front brakes. The BRABUS designers take up the design idiom of the top-of-the-range S-Class for their aerodynamic-enhancement components as well with a subtle chrome add-on package. To give the supercar an even more distinctive face in the characteristic style of the Maybach brand, the BRABUS designers developed a special radiator grille.

An equally unusual and functional feature is the BRABUS courtesy welcome lighting, which is activated in the dark when the driver approaches the vehicle and Keyless-Go mode is engaged, or by pulling on an inside door handle. The illumination of the ground to the left and right of the upgraded Maybach provides enhanced safety for getting in and out.

The BRABUS rear bumper redefines the view from the rear. Its integrated diffuser features tailor-made cutouts for the four chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system.

The outstanding traits of the BRABUS Monoblock wheels, available for all new Mercedes S-Class models in numerous sizes with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches, are thrilling design, maximum quality and further enhanced driving dynamics.

The attached photos show the BRABUS 700 based on the S 63 4MATIC with two different wheel designs, the BRABUS Monoblock F cross-spoke styling and the Monoblock Y design with spokes that taper off towards the outer rim flange in the shape of a ‘Y.’ The use of state-of-the-art forging technology in the manufacture of these wheels means the BRABUS Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” hi-tech wheels represent an optimal combination of lightness and maximum strength. Both designs, in sizes 9Jx21 on the front axle and 10.5Jx21 in back, make perfect use of the available space under the wheel arches. As the optimal tires, BRABUS mounts Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA high-performance tires of sizes 255/35 ZR 21 at the front and 295/30 ZR 21 on the rear axle.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 650 with BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine is pictured in these photos not only with the same BRABUS Monoblock F “PLATINUM EDITION” 21-inch forged wheels, but also with the BRABUS 22-inch wheel/tire combination that is likewise available for all models. In the combination featuring size 9Jx22 rims with size 255/30 ZR 22 tires on the front axle and 10Jx22 rims with size 295/25 ZR 22 tires at the rear, the BRABUS Monoblock G “Platinum Edition” forged wheels also make full use of the available space under the wheel arches.

The BRABUS lowering module is specifically tailored to the ultra-low-profile tires of all models and lowers the ride height of the S-Class by about 15 millimeters (0.6 in).

The BRABUS upholstery shop creates BRABUS fine leather interiors tailored precisely to the owner’s preferences in every detail. For the BRABUS 700 based on the S 63 4MATIC, the choice fell on especially soft and breathable black Mastik leather matching the vehicle paint finish. The leather was further enhanced with gray and red decorative stitching and has a sweeping upholstery layout. In line with the sporty design of the S 63, BRABUS genuine-carbon elements with sporty ‘Checkered Flag’ design and a high-gloss protective finish replace the production wood inlays. In addition, there are tailor-made aluminum components such as the BRABUS RACE paddle shifters, pedals and door pins. The interior refinement is rounded off with backlit scuff plates with BRABUS 700 logo, which can change colors matching the interior ambience lighting.

Even more exclusive is a BRABUS “Masterpiece” interior designed specifically for the current Maybach models and available in an endless variety of leathers and Alcantara in any desired color and with practically any desired upholstery layout. Just as individual is the range of wood or carbon inlays, which are likewise available in any desired color and with a variety of surface finishes. The BRABUS 400-km/h speedometer (250-mph) matches the performance potential of the BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine.

The supercar pictured here is fitted with a light ‘Nature Beige’ BRABUS “Masterpiece” all-leather interior to contrast with the vehicle color. It is characterized by consummate workmanship in every nook and cranny. What is more: The precise perforation of the exquisite material on the seat surfaces ensures optimal functioning of the seat ventilation. The shell-shaped quilting of the leather on selected parts of the seats and door panels was finished with the same pinpoint accuracy. Even the teak-colored leather flooring of the luxury liner has the identical quilting pattern throughout. Another unusual BRABUS concept is the starry sky whose hundreds of optical fibers can change color in sync with the ambience lighting.

BRABUS is one of the pioneers in the development of innovative, functional and stylishly integrated business and multimedia systems for cars. The BRABUS in-car IT experts used this unique expertise to develop an innovative business and entertainment system, which was integrated equally perfectly and stylishly into the Mercedes-Maybach. Of course, it can also be realized in any other S-Class sedan.

As part of the interior refinement, BRABUS fitted a center console custom-developed for the sedan with extra-long wheelbase between the two individual rear seats that extends all the way back between the two individual seats. At the touch of a button, a table perfect for working with or without a tablet PC is deployed from the console for each seat when needed.

Tablet PC? In the case of the Microsoft Surface, this name is more than deserved. The BRABUS 900 is equipped with a business concept featuring two Microsoft Surface 4 Pro computers of the latest generation serving as its “brain.” When not in use, they are stored and recharged safely and hidden almost entirely from view in docking stations inside the console.

The advantage of this choice is obvious: The Surface computers do not require inconvenient acclimation when the owner of the luxury liner uses computers running Microsoft programs at home or at the office. Furthermore, one of the two Surface computers is integrated into the on-board electronics. As a result, its audio and video signals are reproduced by the standard hi-fi system and the screens integrated into the backs of the front seats. Optionally, a large retractable LCD screen also controlled from the tablet computer can be integrated into the headliner. The BRABUS Touch Control Panel with 3.5-inch screen integrated into the armrest between the rear seats allows adjusting the angle of the tables and controlling the volume of the on-board multimedia system.

Both computers can be connected to the Internet via a 4G high-speed router. As a result, they not only keep the passengers abreast of the latest world news, but also allow using streaming services and thus offer a virtually limitless variety of music, films and TV programs.

Of course, BRABUS also offers its customers business and multimedia systems based on Apple or Android technology.

The BRABUS 700 and 900 models can be built to individual customer order as a complete car. Alternatively, customers who already one of these cars can also have their own luxury sedans converted to this level all at once or in stages.

Fuel economy, CO2 emissions and efficiency class:
BRABUS 700 based on the S 63: city 11.7 l/100 km, highway 7.3 l/100 km, combined: 8.9 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 203 g/km, efficiency class D.

Mercedes-Maybach S 650 with BRABUS 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine: city 17.1 l/100 km, highway 8.6 l/100 km, combined: 11.9 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 279 g/km, efficiency class F.

There’s more than one way to check up on the latest news: one is stopping by at pneucity.com, another is watching a good movie: both can show you the best and newest wheels!

Bruce Wayne’s car, in Justice League, will be the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo. From the new E-Class Cabriolet, to the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo, to the big and imposing 4 × 4² G Class, all will play an important role in the film. It’s only fair that Bruce drives a luxury car such as this, to match his “super power” (aka, being rich). Nonetheless, it’s a perk extendable to his co-workers; and to see Diana coming out of that vehicle is truly a wonder. In a parallel dimension, the bad guys had to take it a step further: Soundwave, one of the Decepticons (Dark of the Moon) is an SLR McLaren, which is much, much cooler!

One of Tom Cruise’s most skilled-but-trying-to-remain-inconspicuous characters on screen (Reacher) drives a C-Class Coupe. It’s a killer scene (mostly for the car), and only a white Mercedes could look this good in the dark (even if it ends up totally ruined). Agent J’s (MIB) E-500 was, of course, black: you can never go wrong with that! Mickey Rourke would agree with this (Sin City). Furthermore, anything able to impress Mr. Bond (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service), has class all written over it. Samuel L. Jackson could add some remarks of his own, after his experience with an SL R107 (Jackie Brown) and a 560 SEL (Die Hard: With A Vengeance). Heck, even Jason Statham, who usually walks in other wheels (Tirendo can fill you in on the details), had his chance with an SEL (Transporter).

Jurassic World presented us with the GLE 450 AMG Coupe, a total surprise, hidden from the crew to the last minute. The Lost World kept up with the Mercedes line, highlighting you can always rely on the brand’s performance, even in the most extreme conditions (whether it’s muddy roads or hungry dinosaurs), assuring you the vehicle endures: the perfect definition of “grace under pressure”.

Sedan or Wagon: BRABUS PowerXtra B40 – 700 engine tuning makes the new Mercedes E 63 S 4MATIC+ even more of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The BRABUS power unit engineers used state-of-the-art test bench technology and extensive test drives on racetracks and public roads to develop a performance kit that boosts the power output of the turbocharged 4.0-liter (243 cu in) V8 engine by 64.7 kW / 88 HP (87 bhp).

The plug-and-play auxiliary control unit upgrades the electronic engine control unit with new mapping for injection and ignition, and increases the boost pressure. As a result, the rated output jumps from standard 450 kW / 612 HP to 515 kW / 700 HP (603 to 691 bhp) at a low 6,100 rpm. Peak torque grows simultaneously from 850 to 950 Nm (627 to 701 lb-ft), on tap already at 3,500 rpm. BRABUS recommends high-performance motor oil from technology partner MOTUL.

In harmonious concert with the nine-speed sports transmission, an E 63 S 4MATIC+ sedan with BRABUS PowerXtra B40 – 700 performance upgrade accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds. The slightly heavier wagon takes just a tenth of a second longer for the same exercise. The top speed of both body styles is 300 km/h (186 mph). Already under development is a BRABUS Vmax Unit, which will further increase the top speed.

Sound and performance are the strong suits of the BRABUS sport exhaust system for all E 63 variants. The fully stainless exhaust lowers the back pressure and features exhaust flaps for an electronically controlled sound management. From the cockpit, the driver is able to choose between the discreet ‘Coming Home’ mode and the open position of the exhaust flaps, which coax a particularly powerful exhaust note from the twin-turbo V8.

The aerodynamic properties are essential for perfect handling stability at the tremendously high speeds a vehicle as powerful as this is able to attain. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop bodywork components made from extremely light yet high strength carbon fiber. The precise-fit components come with a choice of high-gloss or matte protective coating.

The BRABUS front spoiler lip attaches to the underside of the E 63 production bumper. Thanks to its shape, it reduces aerodynamic front axle lift on the four-door and five-door model. The even more distinctive face also comes courtesy of the BRABUS surrounds for the large air intakes on the left and right in the front bumper.

The same superlight composite material is used to manufacture the BRABUS rear spoiler and the diffuser insert for the rear bumper, which provides the perfect backdrop for the two dual design tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust.

Of course, the tailor-made BRABUS wheels with diameters of up to 21 inches, safety-certified for all E 63 models, play a major part in the thrilling looks of the BRABUS 700. The most exclusive variant features BRABUS Monoblock “PLATINUM EDITION” forged wheels in various designs. By being manufactured using a hi-tech forging process, these wheels offer a perfect combination of lightweight design and maximum strength. They come in three designs, BRABUS Monoblock F, R or Y “Platinum Edition,” and are mounted on the E-Class in the combination 9Jx21 on the front axle and 10.5Jx21 in back. BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli and YOKOHAMA supply the matching high-performance tires of sizes 265/30 ZR 21 at the front and 305/25 ZR 21 on the rear axle.

The ultra-low-profile tires lend the sedan and wagon an extravagant appearance and give it even more agile handling. The perfect complement is a BRABUS suspension module that lowers the E 63 by about 20 millimeters (0.8 in).

BRABUS also offers its customers unlimited customization when it comes to the interior design. The company upholstery shop creates exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior appointments from the finest leather and Alcantara. The range of colors is virtually endless and the designers in Bottrop are also able to fulfill any special requests regarding the upholstery design. The BRABUS 700 presented at the IAA is fitted with a two-tone all-leather interior in black and red showing great love of detail: The quilting with pinpoint accuracy on the black seat surfaces immediately catches the eye, while a special detail only becomes apparent upon closer inspection: through the perforation of the seat surfaces the eyes discover a layer of red leather incorporated under the black leather.

Matching the sporty character of the E 63, BRABUS offers aluminum paddle shifters with an especially ergonomic design as well as aluminum pedals and door-lock pins. In addition, the cockpit was fitted with flawlessly finished BRABUS carbon inlays with high-gloss protective coating. Stainless scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo, which changes color in sync with the ambience lighting of the interior, round off the new interior design.

The BRABUS 700 can be ordered as a complete car. Alternatively, BRABUS will convert any current Mercedes E 63 to this level in stages or all at once.

Fuel economy, CO2 emissions and efficiency class:
BRABUS 700 based on the Mercedes E 63: city 11.7 l/100 km, highway 7.6 l/100 km, combined: 9.1 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 207 g/km, efficiency class D.

From a passion for fast, exclusive cars to a global player: When Bodo Buschmann founded BRABUS in 1977, he never dreamt that this company would grow into the world’s largest independent tuner and popular manufacturer of unique high-performance automobiles over the course of four decades.

The young company of the car enthusiast quickly picked up steam. Soon it was not only Mercedes drivers from the region who brought their cars to Bottrop to have it tastefully refined. Word about the outstanding work done by the BRABUS team quickly spread. Consequently, it didn’t take long before cars sporting the BRABUS logo stood out from the uniform crowd on the roads not just in all of Germany, but also in Europe and the entire world.

Today, BRABUS maintains its own subsidiaries in the USA and the United Arab Emirates. BRABUS Flagship Stores can by now be found in London, Miami, Moscow, Paris, Tokyo, Zurich, and starting in 2018 at Düsseldorf’s premier address as well, the Königsallee. There is also a BRABUS Flagship Store in Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China. What is more: this tremendously important market is served by over 40 BRABUS Centers of Excellence nationwide. One hundred and six importers around the globe make the road to a BRABUS automobile as short and easy as possible!

In 1984, Bodo Buschmann was able to land his first big contract, almost unimaginable for its scale in this industry at the time. Car rental specialist Erich Sixt agreed to upgrade his rental fleet with 200 Mercedes 190 E cars equipped with BRABUS tuning. These eye-catchers not only helped SIXT to differentiate itself from its competitors. Many of those who rented one of these always solidly booked sedans for a day or two subsequently became loyal BRABUS customers.

Not because of this alone, the business had by now grown on a scale that urgently necessitated more space. In 1986, the company moved to the new building on Kirchhellener Strasse, which was further expanded to then 112,000 square meters (1.2 million square foot) of operating space with a large addition in 1999. In 2012, the BRABUS Plant 3 in Bottrop came online. The BRABUS Plant 4 with 2,000 square meters (21,500 square foot) of usable space followed in August 2014. It houses the BRABUS Classic Division. In late 2014, the new BRABUS Plant 5 with 2,625 square meters (28,200 square foot) of usable space was inaugurated.

Holding status as a vehicle manufacturer with the German Federal Department of Motor Vehicles (Kraftfahrtbundesamt), BRABUS began to make quite a splash with such spectacular cars as a Mercedes 190 E powered by a V8 engine or with a lightweight-design version of that same vehicle.

At the same time, development began on the world’s most extensive product range of high-performance engines for Mercedes-Benz automobiles, unchallenged to this day. In 1992, BRABUS presented the BRABUS 6.9 increased-displacement engine for the V12 of the Mercedes 600 model. With a rated power output of 375 kW / 509 HP (503 bhp), it unlocked a new performance dimension.

Today, the BRABUS ROCKET 900 6.3 V12 twin-turbo increased-displacement engine rated at 662 kW / 900 HP (888 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) represents the benchmark for powerful and durable engine tuning for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. This high-performance power unit is available for the current S 65 models.

Multim. 03_12/01.jpeg.ep

Transplanting an increased-displacement engine with as many cylinders as possible into a relatively small body has always been one of the hallmark traits of the BRABUS product portfolio.

The BRABUS E V12 in the body of the W 210 model series gained entry into the Guinness Book of World Records in 1996 powered by a 7.3-liter (445 cu. in.) naturally aspirated engine that produced 428 kW / 582 HP (574 bhp) for a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). The record-setting car’s successor was based on the next E-Class generation. Its V12 twin-turbo engine produced 471 kW / 640 HP (631 bhp), propelling it to a top speed of 350.2 km/h (217.6 mph). It was only logical then that an even faster BRABUS 800 E V12 based on the W 212 model series E-Class would follow the first BRABUS ROCKET, the world’s fastest four-door coupe with a top speed of 365.7 km/h (227.2 mph). Which in turn was succeeded by the BRABUS 800 ROCKET, based on the second generation of the CLS, with a top speed in excess of 370 km/h (230 mph).
Outstanding performance of this kind has always substantiated the excellent reputation we enjoy with customers and media outlets around the globe.

At the same time, BRABUS also has always pointed the way with regard to the environmental compatibility of its high-performance vehicles. The BRABUS E V8 Diesel of 2001 was the first compression ignition engine altogether to be equipped with a particulate filter and was consequently the first diesel to comply with the EURO IV emission standards, which were not even in effect at the time yet.

Over time, the company expanded into numerous other business fields and became BRABUS GROUP. In 2002, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary and in a joint venture with Daimler AG founded smart-BRABUS GmbH, which has been the official factory tuner for smart cars ever since.

That same year, BRABUS once again demonstrated its leading role in the tuning industry by introducing the one-of-a-kind three-year or 100,000-kilometer/62,000-mile BRABUS Tuning Warranty® (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013).

Since 2008, the BRABUS ZERO EMISSION business division has been working on the development of alternative powertrain concepts and the refinement of electric cars.

Another milestone in the company history is the BRABUS Classic division, which specializes in the perfect restoration, servicing and trading of vintage Mercedes-Benz cars. A Mercedes 300 SE, masterfully restored by BRABUS Classic Division, won the award for best restoration at the 2013 Classic Cars Challenge China. At the TECHNO-CLASSICA 2017 show, a Mercedes 600 Pullman newly rebuilt from the ground up by BRABUS Classic was honored as the best sedan of the show at the Concours d’Elégance of organizer S.I.H.A. due to its outstanding authenticity and flawless workmanship.

BRABUS Business transforms a wide range of die Mercedes models including the Sprinter van into offices on wheels with state-of-the-art communication technology and exclusive interior appointments.

The customers of the Bottrop-based company are not alone in recognizing the perfection the team applies in working on each car and each tuning component. The readers of Germany’s leading car magazine, auto motor und sport, voted BRABUS the best tuning brand for what was already the eleventh time running in 2017.

Even the Dubai Police drives a BRABUS! Since November 2013, a BRABUS 700 WIDESTAR based on a Mercedes G 63 and powered by an engine rated at 515 kW / 700 HP (690 bhp) has been part of the fleet of the Dubai Police.

“It’s not rocket science”: it’s a phrase many people are fond of saying when referring to things that aren’t very complex. But what official BILSTEIN suspension expert PER4MANCE-INDUSTRIES in Weißenstadt, Germany does is nothing short of it. Their high-tech bullets are miles apart from vehicles tuned by backyard mechanics. Owner Stefan Jahn generally prefers an understated approach, exercising his magical craft under the vehicle’s bodywork. PER4MANCE-INDUSTRIES’ latest prestige project is a Mercedes AMG GTS with 730 HP. The vehicle’s performance is achieved using two larger-sized turbochargers, adapted motor software and a special valve controlled exhaust system with upstream downpipes and throttle control.

The PER4MANCE-EXHAUST brand and the PER4MANCE-INDUSTRIES company name make the company one of the largest manufacturers of valve exhaust systems and individual exhaust gas systems in Germany, all of which are made entirely by hand.

The rest of the vehicle must be adapted in line with the vehicle’s enormous power, so PER4MANCE-INDUSTRIES’ tuning naturally includes a whole range of additional features. The things they’re unable to build themselves are purchased as appropriate from masters in their craft. Stefan Jahn says “I’ve always found that BILSTEIN builds the best suspensions and offers a perfect balance.

The Clubsport used in many of our top vehicles in particular is truly first rate.” The elite product links the world of the street to the world of motorsport and is even suitable for taking part in competitions. Thanks to road approval, journeys to and from competition destinations can be made on the vehicle’s own four wheels. In addition to the AMG GTS, two other flagship vehicles from the PER4MANCE-INDUSTRIES project vehicle programme are fitted with the BILSTEIN Clubsport: the Audi R8 Plus and the Nissan GTR. A real highlight is the W204-series C63 AMG, which has already made a career for itself as a competition vehicle.

Which wheels – front or rear – are powered by an engine in your car? Since front-wheel drive vehicle became a mainstream after the oil crisis of the 1970s, arguments about which cars are better – front- or rear-wheel drive ones – never stop.

Today, most of the families use FWD cars because of their better stability, traction in wet weather, and fuel economy. On the other hand, RWD cars proved themselves to be easier in handling which is beneficial for those who prefer working with their right foot. What are their other benefits and drawbacks? Specialists from brakesshop.co.uk are here to break the issue down for us.

Benefits of front-wheel drive cars:

• Better fuel efficiency caused by lesser weight (they don’t need lots of heavy details that pass power to the rear wheels).
• They usually understeer (front wheels slide when you are cornering). When it happens, you can boldly push on the accelerator pedal (which is so natural for all drivers in such situation) and easily resume control over your sliding front wheels. It means that FWD cars provide a better safety and stability for less experienced drivers.
• Have a bigger interior room (again, because they don’t need all those space-consuming details).
• Less componentry means lower price which in bundle with the fuel economy and roomy interior makes a FWD car (consider a minivan or a sedan) a perfect choice for many families.

Drawbacks of FWD vehicles:
• The center of gravity of the vehicle is typically farther forward than a comparable rear-wheel drive layout
• Lack of weight shifting will limit the acceleration of a front wheel drive vehicle. In a rear wheel drive car the weight shifts back during acceleration giving more traction to the driving wheels.
• In low traction conditions like ice or gravel the front (Drive) Wheels lose traction first making steering ineffective.
• Torque steer can be a problem on front wheel drive cars with higher torque engines ( > 210 N·m ) and transverse layout. This is the name given to the tendency for some front wheel drive cars to pull to the left or right under hard acceleration.
• Actually 1 major drawback: on an FWD car, you won’t win the drifting competition.

Advantages of rear-wheel drive cars:

• Acceleration increases traction due to a weight transfer.
• As the load is better distributed between all four tyres, you enjoy a better cornering response.
• Better braking, again, because of better weight distribution between 4 wheels.
• RWD vehicle has better performance, and, therefore, they reliably consolidate their grip on the luxury car segment where price is a secondary thing. They are what sport car enthusiasts salivate over.
• All Formula One or NASCAR cars are RWD, so if you own an RWD car, you can feel like a Schumacher.

Drawbacks of RWD vehicles:

• Bigger weight (due to a long and heavy driveshaft that connects the engine to the rear wheels and other rear-axle parts).
• RWD cars are less roomy.
• Forget about fuel efficiency.
• They cost an arm and a leg.
• Have the tendency to oversteering (rear wheels slide when you are cornering; if you push on the gas pedal, the rear wheels will slide even more which can result in a crash). Thus, the driver’s safety is brought into question. It’s a perfect choice for race car enthusiasts or bold and experienced drivers.

When Kourosh Mansory and his team undertake to refine a premium car, then you can expect spectacular results. This is also the case with the new wide-body chassis program for the current Mercedes-Benz G-class, with versions for the model series G63, G65, G350 and G500. Striking extensions and noble carbon-fibre components now complement the proven MANSORY product range, consisting of elegant alloy wheels, powerful performance enhancements and superb interior finishing.

As soon as the Mercedes-Benz G-class leaves the factory, it is already an impressive eye-catcher. However, MANSORY manages to confer a masculine, as well as elegant, carbon dress to the edgy off-roader´s serial chassis. Under the collective term, G wide body kit, MANSORY offers an extensive set, consisting of fender flares, door skins, as well as a front and rear bumper. This set, entirely produced from carbon, as well as partially consisting of carbon fibre, extends the serial chassis by 40 millimetres. The price starts at 18.900,- euros, plus value added tax. As if that were not enough, the enthusiastic G customer can complete his carbon-fibre upgrade with a lightweight hood, a roof panel and a roof spoiler, with either two – or four position lights. Door handles, rear-view mirror housing, headlight covers and panelling of the A-pillar, complement the carbon splendour.

Various 21-, 22 -, or 23-inch-wide alloy wheels, on the customer’s request, additionally enhance the impressive appearance of the refined MANSORY SUV sustainably, and at the same time, skilfully complete the wider wheel arches. The exclusive 23-inch M8 double-spoke wheel presents you with a sporty-looking light-alloy wheel with a wheel hub cover, which is constantly horizontally aligned, as a special feature. MANSORY mounted 305/35R23 tyres on the mono-block cast wheels, for excellent adherence.

To complement the optical performance, the refining specialist also offers the matching performance enhancements. The MANSORY engine division completely revised the eight-cylinder Biturbo of the AMG G63, adding authentic racing components: engine pistons, connecting rods, connecting rod bearings, crankshaft, cylinder head and many more features, which meet company owner Kourosh Mansory’s high standards. The newly designed exhaust set, from the manifold up to the double stainless-steel tailpipes, which exude their bewitching sound on the flanks, ensure superior performance data. Instead of 544 HP (400 kW), the G63, revised by MANSORY, achieves an impressive 840 HP (618 kW), while the maximum torque increases to the electronically limited 1.150 Newton metres.

On demand, the G-model´s customisation extends to the interior. The entire interior fittings can be restyled in the in-house saddlery: from the dashboard, across the seats, headliner and carpet fittings: the team thereby demonstrates that MANSORY processes only the very best, flawless top-quality Alcantara leather, and, of course, only perfectly manufactured carbon.
