While I’m waiting on the film from Helen & Ken’s wedding to be developed, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite photos of the Kenworthy dogs during the getting ready portion of the wedding day. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be sharing the film shots I snapped of these three with the other wedding photos too!

The Terhunes showed up to Joey & Kim’s wedding late last fall looking their very best, don’t you think?

I went back and found this photo from Allie & Josh’s wedding – honestly, it seemed as though all of their guests had a great sense of style.

There were lots of bow ties of Taylor & Carolyn’s wedding, which made me so happy, but the couple on the left complemented each other perfectly in my opinion! (She was also rocking a scalloped dress I loved that you can’t quite see, similar to this one.) Earlier in the day, I told Michael that I hoped I would have a chance to ask the couple on the right (I adored her green dress!) to pose for a quick photo, but I found myself tied up during the cocktail hour without being able to approach them. Thankfully Michael grabbed this shot of them and one of the (super cute) bridesmaids while I was taking family photographs, and I think the three of them look even better together!

The bridesmaids at Alicia & Jamie’s wedding all selected their own dresses in a variety of colors and patterns, but one of my very favorite dresses of the day belonged to the Maid of Honor. Later that evening, I went way out of my way to photograph the woman on the right – how classically chic does she look?

I’m so excited that wedding season is back in full swing and that I’ll have more of these posts to share in the coming months. With a couple more southern weddings and a Hindu ceremony coming soon, I’m sure we’ll see plenty of bow ties & bright, colorful saris. I cannot wait!

Beginning my day surrounded by so much striking imagery has proven to completely fire me up to tackle the day’s tasks, and further inspires me to want to create something, (anything, really) each day. It’s an absolutely refreshing & rejuvenating way to wake up the mind!

If you’re in the midst of planning a wedding, or if you simply love weddings, I highly recommend picking up any of the WellWed magazines – you won’t be disappointed!

I knew the book was coming out in April, so when two copies from the publisher arrived in the mail last month, I was all too excited to finally see Lulu & Henry in print! Katie & Sam have put together an absolutely darling book, with great stories about each of the featured dogs and their owners. Check your local bookstore to see if they have any copies once the book is released on April 16th!

For a year or two now I’ve been a fan of Big Fluffy Dog Rescue on Facebook, and approximately six times a week I would show Michael a photo of a sweet dog with an incredibly sad story in need of a foster or forever home. We began to donate money, but I still felt the need to do something a bit more tangible. Knowing that once wedding season begins and our free time will all but disappear, we decided to take advantage of our last month of downtime and apply to be a foster family.

We fell hard for this guy. Really hard. This might be because Michael and I are simply obsessed with dogs, but we think that it largely speaks to the kind of dog Micah is – loyal, loving, playful, so happy, etc. Through fostering Micah we’ve learned so much about ourselves, like the fact that we become attached to dogs way too quickly. I’m dreading the day Micah leaves our house, knowing that I’ll cry like I’ve never cried before, but also knowing that Micah will have hopefully found his forever home. Micah has undoubtedly changed our lives, and we know from firsthand experience that he’ll bring someone, some couple, or some family an unbelievable amount of joy.

For anyone who’s interested in adopting Micah, go ahead and fill out the adoption application so that when he’s officially adoptable, you’re all set! Since he’s a cute, well-adjusted, snuggly puppy, we honestly don’t think he’ll last long once he’s listed. Feel free to contact me with any questions about this little guy.
