I got some more feedback from people and revised the logo slightly with a new font, and the logo text inside the chat bubble again. I'm pretty sure that this is the design I will go for. Thanks for all your input :) The logo text is stil readable even when the logo is only 32 pixel tall.

I'm working on a chat application that I call FrameChat, earlier I called it Oratorius (see the tag in my blog for some articles on it last year). I've made a logo for it that I am quite pleased with, it's pretty straight forward and nothing fancy; but I think it pretty much sums up what the app does in addition to only being 581 bytes to load the 64*64 pixel version.
