Exhibition published by anasch
Little Paradise

The whole project is based on a series of photographs – photomontages which, followed soon by a video, is accomplishing the search for personal ideal place, Little Paradise. It does not refer to religious ideology or any form of specific belief, the idea of Paradise is based solely on advertisement world (on the beginning of the Millennium, on the West) which respects no religion. Being Little is the result of the private individual appliance of the specific media picture.

Despite corresponding iconography with prior project ‘Toys’, Little Paradise has absolutely no unhappy ending intended. Recently a lot of artist use the theme of media consumption, its actually very ‘in’ to discuss, and criticize. I’m not interested in post – Baudrillard fear of medias, for that fear is long past gone – we can not breathe without media delusions, for they are the ones that replaced fallen Christian iconology. I do not think a huge multitude of people can visualize anything pleasing they haven’t already seen in an advertisement. So I started my work by collage of different media ideas. Perfect happiness, palm trees, children, family on the sun…The only difference is this is my family, palm trees I took picture of, and (my) illusion of reality. Recreating perfect moment of happiness with your loved ones, really is that much of a cliché.
I am using a combination of visual languages, comic book way of treatment and camp as its opposition. I believe comic book perception is very similar to recreated reality of medias (MTV, Action movies, J. Bond), and camp is the echo of false happiness I am creating. As an example, the photographs from the project are intended to be exposed in very baroque golden frames, to display this conflict adequately.

When I approach the face of the ground I also reduce my size and my thoughts. Perhaps this notion of fragility gives the sence to a manipulated landscape, the place where the figures moves, as a picture of the world. This is a real but reduced place, where humanity lives a selfmade integration, scalling its knowledge and its capacity of survival. Thus, I intend to create an analogy with the true world of form the one that the observer has more including notion and conscience of the world with the necessary distance to question itself, collating it with the integrity of what truly belongs himself. To be considered a fragile human beings in a world where lived, it collate us with the ideia of God - the whole creation, the order of things, the spirit of the substance in it`s reduced particle
