Quando eu tinha meus treze e poucos anos, semi BV e super virgem, quase não existia muita coisa na minha cabeça pra processar, além de estudar num ginásio de merda e assistir Mtv quase todo dia. Numa época de Cds e MP3 a matriarca pelo telefone me deu uma escolha pra fazer entre Skank ou Uma Banda que nem sabia como se escrevia direito o nome, escolhi pela curiosidade e logo após colocar o Cd e apertar o Play eu conheci um gênero, uma forma, uma filosofia, que mudaria meu jeito de ser e de pensar durante os próximos anos. Diante dos meus ouvidos se apresentava o Heavy metal.

Moonchild – Iron Maiden

Seventh son of seventh son era o disco a ser ouvido e Moonchild foi a musica apresentada. Juntas sequencialmente vinha “Infinity Dreams” e “Can i play with madness” canções que adoro ate hoje. E apesar de não entender quase nada de inglês e ter certeza que eu gostaria muito de saber o que aquele cantor tanto gritava em tons poéticos, eu tinha certeza que aquilo não era qualquer canção e que provavelmente aquilo tinha uma mensagem importante. Talvez vinda do céu ou provavelmente do inferno.

A segunda opção era a mais correta, mas não de forma objetiva, o Heavy Metal não queria que eu me tornasse um adorador de satã, bebedor de sangue de galinha ou um lunático das trevas. A musica era uma Ode ao ocultismo, a aquilo que vai além da nossa compreensão terrena e que fascinava cada vez mais a minha pessoa, tanto a pesquisar quanto a tentar compreender.
Ate porque meus amigos as coisas eram um pouco limitas na época, eu não tinha um amplo acesso a Internet e nem sempre a um computador. Me contentava em revistas sobre o gênero nas bancas e torcia que na Tv tocasse algo parecido com os riffes demoníacos que ouvia.

Aaah o Scorpions ou Dio preferencialmente, pra mim um dos caras que mais admiro mesmo não sendo tão aficionado assim por ele. Admiro porque logo após o “Iron” a fonte tinha secado um pouco e eu recorri aos DVDs, o que ajudava muito vendo alguns Docs sobre bandas de Hard rock e dentre elas tinha o Scorpions, talvez me prometendo ou não que essa musica ainda iria me abalar como se fosse um furacão.

Essa musica me trás mais lembranças do que posso dizer. A minha maior sorte foi ter amigos de infância que assim como me apresentaram o Ragnarok online e o Play Station 1, também me convidaram a conhecer o Angra. Umas das bandas que mais respeito no cenário, sei que ela tem seus altos e baixos assim como a vida de muitas pessoas, inclusive a minha e era isso que me levava a continuar e sempre buscar uma melhora. Ah como era bom ouvir a discografia completa deles e sabia cantar quase todas as musicas, quando não era o Iron Maiden e seus solos, era o Angra melodicamente iluminando tudo ao meu redor.

Massacration – Metal Milkshake

Hahaha, o Massacration! Eu tinha que colocá-los aqui, afinal de contas eu era um consumidor assíduo do Hermes e Renato, MTV e afins. E eles me mostraram o poder do Heavy Metal ( tentativa de voz do Detonator). Nem tudo poderia ser tão serio e era preciso rir as vezes, afinal de contas não é só de desgraças que se vive a vida. Foi uma época boa eu assumo. Sem contar que “Metal is the Law” me mostrou toda a etiqueta, vamos dizer assim, do “handbanguer” tradicional e munhequeiras e botas cano alto já eram presentes na minha vestimenta, além de usar preto, somente preto.

Os anos iam se passando, a rebeldia crescia e a vontade de tocar o foda-se também. Aprendi a ser mais filho da puta com o mundo, afinal de contas somos o reflexo daquilo que nos rodeia. Infelizmente o que me rodeava era muita gente filha da puta que eu não gostava, talvez fosse o “bullyng”, quando nem essa palavra existia ainda, ou a revolta do meus hormônios de 15, 16 poucos anos. Eu não sei, o ódio era grande mas a sofisticação também, afinal de contas minha sede musical precisava ser saciada.

O extreme speed power metal, acho que esse foi o ápice na minha adolescência, aqui temos a junção de tudo e muita coisa. Essa musica em especial veio através de um amigo que eu tinha nas viagens de veraneio que eu fazia com meus pais, rockeiro assim como eu, me mostrou toda a velocidade quase sobre humana que riffs de guitarra podem ser executados. Tantos na Vida real como num Play Station 2, sacaram a referencia, né? De qualquer forma Dragon force foi uma bandas que mais ouvi muito por muito tempo, ela estava entre as minhas musicas de “Bads” e términos favoritas. Meus relacionamentos não duravam muito, mas eu conseguia me recuperar muito mais rápido ouvindo um bom e velho Heavy ou Power Metal. Mas isso é assunto pra outro podcast.

Helloween – Power

Outra banda que conheci pelas aventuras de veraneio e “lã houses” alheias foi o Helloween. Talvez uma das bandas que mais gostei na época e que cheguei a chorar em uma de suas músicas, eu assumo. “Power” é uma canção linda, que pra mim da todo um sentido de superação de seus problemas, seja eles quais forem e que mostra que você é muito maior que eles. Parece clichê falando assim mas na época eu não tava nem ai. Não que eu estivesse passando por algum dificuldade psicológica, mas que era sempre bom saber que apesar dos pesares, coisas boas poderiam vir depois. Emfim devo muito a essa musica em um sentido simbólico, é claro, e devo dizer que sempre que puder, ouvirei sem pensar duas vezes.

Deixando as “Bads” de lado um pouquinho, não posso deixar de citar que o “Love Metal”, se é que podemos dizer assim, também sempre me fascinou muito. O estilo dos caras era pitoresco, sua musicas quase sempre falavam de orgias, drogas, sexo e afins e eu ficava fascinado imaginando como isso funcionava naquela época, não numa realidade brasileira é claro, mas sim na americana. Junto com “Scorpions” e outras bandas como “Helloween” e “Kiss”, o Whitesnake era o metalzinho sub popular na minha grade musical.

Kiss – Psyco Circus

O respeito não era menor, mas pra mim ouvir musica sempre teve um proposito muito mais do que entretenimento por si só. Era uma resposta ao mundo, uma critica a sociedade ou simplesmente uma noite de farra com os amigos. De qualquer forma são bandas que me pego cantando atoa ate hoje.

Não posso deixar de citar o Metallica, o som mais digamos, sofisticado e “mainstream” dessa minha lista. De qualquer forma foi a primeira banda em que eu ganhei um DVD de um show completo, que incluía musicas maravilhosas como “Master Of Puppets” e também a primeira e talvez umas das poucas musicas que tirei no Violão: “The Unforgiven”. O Show foi em San Diego de 1992, ano em que nasci e que tinha direito ate a “show your boobs” pela mulherada da plateia. Metallica encerra e começa um processo na minha vida em que eu não era mais tão ligado e fanático assim pelo Heavy Metal, me tornei mais um saudosista. Seja por causa da maturidade chegando ou seja pelas consequências do tempo mesmo.

Ironicamente com o Metal me interessei por coisas que talvez nunca passasse por minha cabeça, seja ocultismo, arte ou ate história em geral. E aqui temos uma musica que de certa forma me da um orgulho imenso de ser brasileiro, confesso que sou um pouquinho ate mais nacionalista por causa dela. Ela trata de um período critico e triste na história mas que foi fundamental para o mundo.
De qualquer forma essa musica apareceu para mim mais atualmente, quando estava já criando em mim um senso mais politico e critico na minha vida. Espero que um dia a “cobra fume” novamente para mostrarmos ao mundo o poder que os brasileirinhos tem. Afinal de contas é sempre bom darmos valor as nossas raízes mesmo que os frutos nem sempre sejam tão bons assim pra se comer. De qualquer forma como diria o Flávio Morgentern: “A salvação do Mundo esta no Heavy Metal”.

Falta muita musica por aqui ainda, de certa se eu fosse falar de todas demoraria no minimo umas 5 horas. Todas que falei ate agora, foram marcantes, seja pelas letras, pela época em que eu ouvi ou pela mensagem. O metal não é só um estilo de musica pra mim, foi meu porto seguro, minha forma de ver e saber que o mundo não é para amadores e que apesar dos pesares ainda podemos rir de tudo isso no final.

Aqui faço meu tributo ao estilo que mudou e muda minha vida, nunca tive muita oportunidade a ir num show da maioria das bandas que eu gosto, talvez no futuro, num país diferente, só Deus dirá. Mas nunca me esquecerei de ligar o som ate o ultimo volume no meu hack na sala e balançar feito um louco com as musicas que ouvia. Tempos bons já se foram e tempos bons viram. Obrigado a você que me ouviu ate agora, esse foi mais um metanauta, feito por um metaleiro incondicional e lunático por natureza, ate a próxima!
