I know it's been a little quiet around here...well it's been a crazy few months, Ellie started school and I been working on my main website!!! Where did all that time go? It's jut passing by... sure miss having Ellie around on my days off, kinda dull without her! I will start posting here more when I have finished my main site, promise ;)

So a few images, bit of a mixed bag, taken over the last few months, most with my D700 and Sigma 85mm lens :) A bit lazy but most are unedited, I'll revisit some at a later stage!

We recently visited the Potstop in Knebworth for some painting fun, great place with lots of different types of pottery to paint, plates, cups, ornaments, pretty much anything! Great fun for Ellie and they make good coffee too!!

Blimey where has the time gone? And you may be wondering where have we been?! Well its been a busy month or so, lots of work, days out, birthdays, christenings... the list goes on! Not to mention the new website! More on that in a mo!

You should see my stack of photos to edit!

So I'm making a few changes around here, you see this blog started as a way of me sharing my adventures through photography, lots of pics of Ellie and just stuff we got up to, and over time things have changed. It's a mix of my own stuff, client sessions and weddings, I've wanted to separate this for a while and now I have. So... we now have Matt Heath Photography as my professional site, its still developing and I'll be tweaking and adding over the coming weeks, take a look around, bookmark it, share it or ignore it, I won't hold a grudge :)

This blog will now revert to my own space, back to just me and Ellie and our ventures! It will take on a new look too over the next few weeks, but for now here are some pics from a visit back in June to the pony sanctuary.

Glen and Kay's Wedding at St Mary's Old Harlow

On saturday I photographed the wedding of Glen and Kay at St Mary's church Old Harlow, the same church I myself was married in less than a year ago although has since undergone a major restoration! The weather stayed mostly dry and made way for a fantastic day! Now... I know Glen as a friend and having met Kay a few times I knew the day would be colourful... it really was a day full of laughter as friends and family got together to celebrate their wedding day. I wish you both the best of luck for the future... now on to some pictures...

Only at Glen and Kays wedding.. the vicar drops the rings.. the funny thing is, if this was last year before the refurb, the rings would have fallen down the metal grate floor!

All was well and with a round of applause, the rings were found!

Yesterday I met up with Glen and Kay to discuss the final arrangements for their wedding in less than 2 weeks and also to grab a few shots of them before their big day. They will be getting married in St Mary's Church in Old Harlow (where I was married only last year!) with a reception to follow, I have a feeling this will be a really fun day, lots of my friends will be there too so really looking forward to it! The idea or these mini pre wedding photo sessions is to help relax any photo nerves before the big day and gives them a good idea of how I work. Whilst they were both nervous about having their photo taken I hope you will agree they are both naturals really!

Now I had a little help entertaining them here from a pony trying to lick me!

Another crazy week... and another set of photos! This is Amelia, she is 6 months old, beautiful, has lots of hair, full of smiles and is very fond of her tongue! I met Victoria and Amelia (oh and Timba their dog who was fantastic!) at their home on Sunday morning for this photo shoot in hope to get outside (they have an amazing garden!) for some portraits, the weather had other ideas though and the wind was in full force! Of course we still managed to get some great shots around their home and here is just a short preview! I will be meeting them again in a week and hopefully we will have some good weather! So more images to come I'm sure...

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing baby Daniel, at 4 weeks old it was pushing it for this kind of photography as they are so alert and way to interested in what I'm doing pointing a black box at them, but with a little patience we got him sleepy and captured some great images! Overall he was a star and I'm sure (almost certain) we'll see more of him on here as he grows! Here are my 2 favorites!

This is a re post from yesterday, my website along thousands of others hosted by Blogger (must invest in a flashy site soon) went down last night and yesterdays post seems to have been lost in the process. So anyway, Sunday saw me photographing Isabella and Isaac as part of my free photo shoot giveaway from last month.... Had great fun and they were both fantastic! We took a few photo's at their home whilst we got to know each other before going for a short walk along the river and in to a nearby wood! Here are a few images from the session......

I am in the process of strengthening my portfolio and am giving away 4 free photo shoots! Ideally I am looking for children under 6, newborn babies, toddlers and also a family who would like some natural images of themselves together! These would be on-location shoots, so at your home, local forest/park etc. As mentioned this shoot will be FREE these shoots are normally £85! All I will ask in return is I can use selected images for my own promotional use! Obviously there will be products available for you purchase afterwards such as prints, canvas's etc. It's a great time of year for photography and I'm sure there are many of you out there who would love a free photo shoot! One thing I've always enjoyed is capturing all the small things, trying my best to avoid those 'smile for the camera' and 'cheese' shots, instead I try to photograph those day to day things, whether it's Ellie laughing and having fun,her toys, her mess, something she has made, her playing, eating or just being herself, that's what I set out to capture. To me these images and moments captured and frozen in time hold such emotion and happy, happy memories.

***Very soon I will be offering contemporary style children photo shoots, there will be a post shortly with more details on these and different package options, so if you have young children or babies and would like professional, contemporary images of them then watch this space. Whilst at tesco's, Ellie insisted we bought a roll for her 'kitty' (something she had earlier ~~conned~~ talked me in to buying) for his lunch too.

Highly recommend the Potsop for something fun to do! Ellie loved it!

I take a break from playing and go make a (another) cup of coffee and return to find her playing music on our bed! She's a little crazy.

or at least there was 2 weeks ago :) Tues the 8th to be exact, there was in fact... Sunshine and warmth! Shame it didn't last! Seriously, come on weather, warm up! Our central heating bill is killing me! Joking aside, it was great being able to go out in the garden, get some fresh air and for Ellie play outside for a change, so much better than being stuck indoors!

and of course Marley gets in on the fun...

Jennifer and Adam 2011 wedding {Bishops stortford Herts}

Friday saw me photographing the wedding of Jennifer and Adams wedding, as Jennifer is my cousin many of the guests were family which made it extra special to photograph! With the exception of a heavy shower in the morning the weather held up, what a godsend! The day was fantastic and everyone had a great time, a casino night provided the evening entertainment which seemed to go down a storm, the tables were crowded with people!

So here is my preview of the day, thank you both for having me as your photographer, it was an absolute pleasure! I wish you both the best of luck for the future.

Well, in 3D glasses anyway! We went to see Tangled in 3D on tuesday, was pretty good actually, I hold my hands up to liking disney films! But how is a 3 year old, or any child for that matter supposed to wear these huge glasses? I cant believe they don't have junior ones? I spent most of the time holding them up for her, my arm was killing me! Quite funny though watching her sit in the chair with those huge glasses and sipping her drink, she looked tiny! I Tried to take her photo with me iphone, but just wasn't happening with zero light and not sure they would have liked me dragging a DSLR in with me!

Just a few snaps really that I took whilst on a mini walk with Ellie on my day off, its still so cold so didn't go far! The scooter lasted about ~~5 mins~~ 1 min as always, so you can guess who ended up carrying it!

But we wasn't alone on our walk, oh no, Marley our cat insists on coming along! Every time, whether its a walk or going to the park he comes along too! You get some funny looks from people with this cat walking along beside you! I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a dog!

In only a few weeks time now I will be photographing Jennifer and Adam's wedding in Bishops Stortford, so we met up today for a quick photoshoot close by to where they will be getting married. The main purpose of this is just to get used to the camera and grab a few shots before the big day and whilst the rain held off, the wind didn't, it was blustering!. As it happens Jennifer is my cousin so the day will be filled with my family and will be a pleasure to photograph... looks to be a fun filled day!

Firstly, whilst a bit late, happy new year! I can't believe it's been a month since I posted here! Now there's a new years resolution for me!

Looking ahead though, 2011 brings some new ventures for me and I'm sure many great images! Details to follow in an upcoming post, but I'm certainly hoping for a busy year in photography!
