About the Programme

The objective of the programme is to enhance

the computer aided analysis of the students

through MATLAB/SIMULINK. MATLAB is an

object-oriented high-level interactive software

package for scientific and engineering

numerical computations. MATLAB enables

easy manipulation of matrix and other

computations without the need of traditional

programming. It provides an interactive

environment with hundreds of built-in

functions for technical computation, graphics

and animation. SIMULINK is an environment

for multi domain simulation and model-based

design for dynamic and embedded systems. It

provides an interactive graphical environment

and a set of block libraries that helps in

design, simulate, implement and test a variety

of time-varying systems including electrical

drives, converters, communications, controls,

signal processing, video processing and image

processing. SIMULINK is a ready-access

learning tool for simulating operational

problems found in the real world because

simulation algorithms and parameters can be

changed in the middle of the simulation with

intuitive results.

This one day workshop mainly focuses on the

introduction to MATLAB programming and

SIMULINK and its applications to different

fields of engineering.

Resource Persons

Experienced Professors with expertise in

MATLAB/SIMULINK from the host institution

will be the resource persons for the

programme.

Eligibility Criteria:

This programme is open to all AICTE approved

engineering college students pursuing their UG

or PG courses. Selection of participants will be

on first come first serve basis.

Registration Fee

Registration fee of Rs. 100/- per participant is

to be paid in cash at the venue on the date of

the event i.e., 18.07.2014.

The number of participants is limited & hence

the interested participants need to e-mail the

completed, signed and scanned registration

form to eeeemictech@gmail.com. Short listed

How to reach NIT Agartala:
The Institute is located on a picturesque site, which is 4 k.m off National Highway (NH-44) and about 20 K.M. away from the capital city, Agartala. Agartala is linked to the rest of the country by road and rail-link via Agartala and Guwahati. It has got direct Air Link with Kolkata and Guwahati. Agartala is situated at 91.50 E longitudes and 23.80 N latitude at a height of 12.80 meters above the sea level.
The Institute campus is connected to the National Highway with all weather-metalled roads. Regular bus and jeep services are available from Agartala to College Chowmuhani.
Auto-rickshaw services are also available on the route from College Chowmuhani to Institute and back.

The Institute runs private bus services from Agartala to Institute and back during working hours and in cases of emergency adequate number of buses, jeeps and private vehicles are available on NH-44 for traveling from Agartala. Institute also runs its own bus service for campus dwellers.

The Institute is 4 km off National Highway (NH-44) and about 20 km away from capital city.

GATE 2014: Only 16.84 per cent candidates qualified

The recently declared results for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014 have disappointed many candidates as only 16.84 per cent of the appeared candidates have successfully cleared the examination. Candidates meeting the qualifying marks criteria set by the GATE 2014 Committee will receive their score cards and results through mail. From the 1, 49,694 candidates qualifying the exam, 85,063 are from General category, 42,287 are from OBC (NCL), 17,085 from SC, 4,224 from ST and 1,035 Persons with Disability. Only 31, 431 female candidates (from all categories) have qualified.

A total of 10,33,625 candidates had registered for the GATE 2014 examination and 8,89,156 candidates attempted the exam, 85 per cent of the registered female candidates and 86 per cent of the registered male candidates. The exams were held over three weekends between February 2, 2014 and March 2, 2014 with a total of 9 exam sessions across 660 exam centers.

The GATE 2014 exam consists of a single paper with 65 questions for a total of 100 marks. A total of 22 optional subjects were offered under GATE 2014, and the most popular papers were: Electronics and Communication Engineering (2,16,367), Mechanical Engineering (1,85,578), Computer Science and Information Technology (1,55,190), Electrical Engineering (1,41,799) and Civil Engineering (90,872).

The 17 PSUs having signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Kharagpur will receive the GATE 2014 results. Aspirants will be required to apply individually to their desired Institute/University for admission.

CORONA - The Annual Techno-Management Fest” of NIT-PATNA , to garner the young budding technocrats and entrepreneurs. The motto of this event is to inculcate a creative atmosphere in the campus and thus encouraging the young minds to fetch both, innovative ideas and solutions for the problems which stand as a challenge in the spirit of science and technology and thus push forward the wheel of progress. It’s a national level techno-management fest which aims at serving as a platform for all the interested students to showcase their skill and creativity. Colleges from all over the India participate in this national level fest enhancing a pure interactive atmosphere particularly during the fest.
This year the fest is going to be held from 22nd to 24th February, 2014. During the fest plethora of technical events are organised along with a blend of various fun events, keeping up the tempo of this grand event. We invite eminent personalities for guest lecturers to interact with the students and hence encourage them and keep the fire ignited within their hearts to work for the betterment of the nation and hence the mankind.
CORONA 2014 Technical, Management, Workshop Events in Patna :
1) Technical Events:
“Aayam” (Architecture Dept.)
“Byte World” (Computer Science and Information Technology)
“Ohm” (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)
“Yantriki” (Mechanical Engineering)
“Concreate” (Civil Engineering)
“Robotics” (Manual and Autonomous robotics)

2) Guest Lectures: History has shown that genius inspires genius. Distinguished and renowned personalities will be invited during the fest to share their views and knowledge on latest and the most relevant technological advancement around the globe.

3) Workshops: Plethora of workshops (technical and business) are conducted as a part of the fest which helps stimulate the students to innovate and create. These workshops witness participation by hundreds of students from various colleges from in and around the country.

4) Fun events

“Rave Night”
Rock Band performance by one of the leading music bands of India or around (not finalised yet).This event will attract a huge crowd from all over the city. Last year, Raeth (Band from Pakistan), performed on Rave Night and mesmerised the audience with their enthralling performance. The band will perform for ninety minutes.

“Inferno 6.0”
Inferno is back for its 6th season. It’s the only event of its kind to be held in India at the college level. It’s based on MTV reality show Roadies and attracts participation from over fifteen colleges. This event is the most awaited event of the technical festival where the contestants have to go through various troubles both physical and mental to win the contest.

“Streets”
This is basically a street dancing event. The teams will proceed into the next round based on the ratings by judge panel and cheers from the audience. This event will be organised on the inaugural night and is expected to draw audience and participation in huge numbers.

A variety of other such fun events form a part of festival’s evenings. These events witness maximum participation. Students of all branches and colleges come together to celebrate during these events.

Question Paper Consists of Part-A and Part-B.
Part A = [1 Question (Compulsory Question) = 22 Marks] & Part B = [6 Question (Need to attempt 3 questions)= 48 Marks ]
Answering the question in Part-A is Compulsory, Where as Three Questions should be answered from Part-B

Detailed info : For theory subjects, there shall be an end semester examination for 70 marks. The question paper shall contain 7 questions, out of which the first question shall be compulsory. All the questions, including the compulsory question, shall contain the entire syllabus. The student shall answer 4 questions, including the compulsory question. The compulsory question shall carry 22 marks and the remaining questions shall carry 16 marks each. Each question may consist of sub divisions as per convenience.
