I once won a bunch of crap CDs at an RTR quiz night by cracking my knuckles very loudly.
In my teens I had long golden locks that went all the way down to my belt.
I have 14 pair of shoes. Most are for specific sports.
I subscribe to the Believer and McSweeney’s
I’m writing a book called “Discovering your friends through Venn diagrams”
I’m not really writing that book, but it would be good if someone did.
I dream of having a room with just a bed in it and nothing else.

hot roller derby action

I went along last night to the inaugural Victorian Roller Derby League’s Love Hurts roller derby. It was a fantastic night by all accounts—the crowd was huge (and suitably dressed in punk/mod/tattoo style) and the chicks on the rink feisty and hot! Some pics from the night:

The alpine sun warms our skin.
The cool mountain air smells of fresh ozone (we’re 1500 metres above sea level).
Ducks waddle by and splash into the lake.
Avocado spread thickly over coarse bread – topped with salad and munched down eagerly.
A dive into the clear clear water.
Your toes tingle with cold if you sink too deep.
Staying on the surface we breaststroke across to the other side.
Short catch of breath and we race back to the jetty.
Eyes open under water and you can see the sunlight struggling to penetrate the depths.
Basking on a towel in the dappled shade.
Birds tweet by. Insects crawl about.
Dozing off. Heavy breathing. Is that snoring i hear next to me?
We bandied about the idea of leaving in half an hour.
An hour later we haul our sun-dozed bodies back into the car.
With the windows down we descend back to Porepunkah.
The view on the way down… well it’s pretty average:

Back in Porpunkah we do much of the same as we sit and swim by the river:

Fish and chips for tea, washed down with a beer.
Sleep eventually and I dream of patterns of wood, leaves and stones:

st jeromes laneway festival

A very spiffy new site for the St Jeromes Laneway Festival for 2008. Paprct pulled out all the AJAX bells and whistles here to make sure the flash music player wouldn’t be interrupted by page refreshes. It’s super sexy!

I don’t know who did the poster illustrations, but they’re quite amazing!
