This past Saturday was hot and humid in central Illinois–but at least it wasn’t raining, which is what the weather prognosticators had forecast. So it turned out to be a fine, if warm, day for Tim and Tracy to get married in Jacksonville. Colleagues Ann Klose and Trevor Little joined me to capture the memories for the couple.

The ceremony was held in First Presbyterian Church, a beautiful building. Tracy had ordered some simple but lovely floral arrangements from Fridayz in Springfield. The reception followed at the elegant Hamilton’s Catering in downtown Jacksonville where Art and Lee Ann from A.C. Music provided DJ services.

We had a terrific time with Tim and Tracy and their families and friends and wish them the best as they continue their life together. Thanks so much for allowing me to be part of your special day. Below are just a few of the photographs I made during the day.

The senior season continues with these lovely images of Dani, a student and cheerleader and Lincoln Community High School. She’s been involved in cheer and pageants for years, often winning “most photogenic” awards–you can see why. Dani was a delight to photograph and I wish her the best in her last year of high school. Thank you, Dani!

Showing at 519 Pulaski Open House - August 26

In conjunction with the 2010 Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival, my friend Kerry Rolewicz is hosting an open house at her studio, 519 Pulaski, on Thursday, August 26, from 6:00 - 10:00 PM. The Festival officially begins on Friday but we’re kicking things off early the night before. The open house will feature work by four local artists, including some photographs I’ve made over the past year.

I’ve been working with Kerry to help her prepare prints of her work (see previous post here) and we’re planning to have some available for sale during the weekend. In addition to the open house on Thursday night, the studio/gallery will be open throughout the weekend to give visitors the opportunity to view and purchase art work. You can stop by anytime during the following hours:

Thursday, Aug 26 - Open House - 6-10 PM
Friday, Aug 27 - Gallery open - 3-6 PM
Saturday, Aug 28 - Gallery open - Noon-6 PM
Sunday, Aug 29 - Gallery open - Noon-5 PM

If you attend the open house event, you’ll have an opportunity to view the work on display as well as meet the artists: Kerry, Eric Burton, Michelle McFadden, and me. The studio is located on “the square” in the heart of downtown Lincoln (map), right in the midst of the Festival action. We’d love to have a chance to meet you–hope to see you there!

Ethan and Nicole, Married - Illinois Wedding Photographer

Yesterday Ethan and Nicole (here are their engagement photographs) were married in Lincoln and partied in Bloomington.

The couple saved their first kiss for the wedding ceremony and then had the surprise of having it judged by the wedding party. After the ceremony we made a few portraits at Kickapoo Creek Park then headed to The Chateau in Bloomington. Dinner was excellent and Top-Notch Productions provided a great DJ experience for the guests.

Katy, Senior 2011 - Illinois Senior Photographer

Senior season has begun and I’m starting with some really fun students this year. Katy is the drum major for the high school band, an accomplished musician, a talented actor and a terrific all-around person. We first made portraits–both classic and fun–at the studio. Since Katy foresees herself heading into some aspect of renewable energy engineering/management, we then headed north of Lincoln to the little town of Hartsburg where we made some more photographs near the Horizon wind farm. It was a delight for me to make her photographs. Thank you, Katy!
