Until that time another hearing is scheduled to decide if Michael Jackson’s mother can take control.

Jackson’s mother, opposed the appointment of Branca and McClain and asked to delay the hearing.

His will also did not stipulate where you would like to be buried or which the method of preparation– burial, cremation, embalming etc. Complicating the will liabilities of the estate with AEG Live, the company that scheduled and paid for 50 concerts Jackson was to perform in London, the summer of 2009.

One of the many problems concerning the will, or any will, particularly one that contains the breadth and scope of Michael Jackson’s fortunes, is the time that has passed before being updated. This allows the opportunity for other parties to lay claim and dispute the contents of the will, since it can be looked at by the court that too long a period has passed and new assets and circumstances have evolved to make the will disputable.

It is recommended that a will should be updated whenever a significant event has taken place within your lifetime, such as the birth of a child, marriage or divorce, changes in wealth and fortune, changes in real estate and new income streams etc.— and the list goes on.

Jackson reps and AEG Live, who is hosting the event, revealed that a public memorial for MJ would take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (July 7) at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

"It is the family’s wish to create a service and celebration that all of Michael’s fans around the world can be a part of," said AEG CEO and President Tim Leiweke.

The event will air via a worldwide feed available for free to any network who chooses to air the event.

The demand to get tickets for the public memorial went through the roof on Friday. More than half a million fans reportedly applied for the 17,500 free tickets.

To be eligible for tickets, fans must log on to Staples Center.com and register between now and 6 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, 8,750 names will be drawn randomly and each will receive two tickets. Ticketmaster will then be distributing tickets and wristbands to those chosen few on Monday.

Due to the massive demand and the popularity of Jackson, downtown L.A. is expected to receive a surge of people. More than 1,400 officers from the LAPD alone have been asked to volunteer for duty on Monday and Tuesday. The department didn’t publicly reveal how many officers would be on duty that day though.

City officials said that individuals without a ticket and/or wristband would not be allowed anywhere near the event. They’re urging that some stay home and watch from their couch.

"We encourage you to watch the memorial from your home," said Jan Perry, a city councilwoman.

In addition to TV, it will also air online.

Ken Sunshine, the Jackson family spokesman, thanked fans for their outpouring of support throughout the past week. The memorial, he said, is about "accommodating as many fans as possible. It is all about the fans."

Jackson’s body is currently at Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuaries in Hollywood Hills awaiting a private funeral, details of which have not been disclosed.

His Neverland Ranch will be closed to the media and well-wishers beginning tonight and remain off-limits until after the funeral services "to focus on the Tuesday celebration of Michael’s life," a ranch spokeswoman said.

The memorial service to honor Michael Jackson is set to be held at the Staples Center July 7th 2009 beginning at 10:00 am.

Expected is one of the largest crowds in the Los Angeles downtown area in recent memory, some predictions place the number possibly approaching 250,000 people, something the city planner are trying to avoid this as they constantly remind fans and well wishers to view the live programming of the memorial service from home.

The memorial service is hyped to be a celebration reflecting the extraordinary life of Michael Jackson, one the which is free for the public but limited to 17,000 tickets. While the City of Los Angeles is taking drastic steps to ensure the event goes as smoothly, realistically the numbers of people expected to attend and the emotional outpouring of love and sadness expected form millions of fans will make it unprecedented for a non-political figure.

Concerns are also mounted about fraudulent ticket sales, as scammers seek out this opportune time to rip off people by selling fake tickets. We have already seen that thousands of concert goers who already purchased Michael Jackson declining re-imbursement, choosing to keep their tickets for commerative and perceived value in the future.

Of the 17,500 tickets available for the Michael Jackson funeral service. 11,000 of those will be given to fans who want to attend live at Staples and another 6,500 to view a simulcast on giant projection screen at the nearby Nokia theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

A truly historic and momentous occasion as look at arguably one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Many are speculating that the magnitude and loss of such a figure might not be enough of a mouring to be encapsulated in one memorial service, as some are hoping to see many more events commemorating Michael Jackson’s life.
