We sat there and I held his hand and as he took his last breathe, his heart stopped, his eyes blinked and rolled, he was dead. Gone. We said our goodbyes and away we went. I loved him dearly, more than words can say. He meant everything to me. The world. My life. He was my hero. My friend. I cried. I wept.

This experience is only going to make me stronger and more prepared for the possibility of death throughout my journey. Hopefully I can make it back alive and setup a COPD research clinic in his name.

I haven’t slept in over 30 hours. Mashable posted an article about my journey and it’s caused far too much correspondence. Everyone seems to want to get to know me and find about more about what I am doing. I appreciate the attention from the press, my followers and new found friends, but I am an introvert and it’s all new to me. I have problems being social as it is.

My friends already know this, so I am sharing it with the people that don’t. Let me tell you more about me. Who I am. What I am.

I am an introvert by nature, a socially awkward sort of guy. For the longest amount of time I presumed there something wrong with me, but it turned out that I’m just an introvert, a special sort of weird.

I love spending time on my own, thinking and just living in my mind. I do not like talking about myself, going out to bars, social events or engagements. They’re just not for me. It’s just not for me. Is this strange? Who cares, right? I am just far too busy. Thinking. Pondering. Dreaming. Creating. Doing. I do not have time to waste. There’s only 24 hours in a day and I sleep 7 of those away. Oh.. So much to do, so little time! This is why I never like going out with friends, I always feel guilty. I am far too busy thinking and not paying attention to anyone around me. Sorry guys.

I am a wondering ponderer, a scholar of life, I have plenty of ideas, dreams, ambition and aspirations. I like creating, I like doing and I do not think time should be took for granted. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. I enjoy talking about my Interests, other people’s interests, listening and laughing. Just life, I guess. I do not really enjoy talking for the sake of talking, for the sake of filling awkward silences. That I find weird. Crazy one might say. Silence is quite often required. Especially for me anyway.

It’s quite funny how difficult I find talking to people I do not know – Unless we already share some sort of connection or mutual interest, I probably would not be able to talk to you. I am not shy or nothing, I am just me. Michael Lee Johnson. A weird sort of introvert.

Hopefully this journey will change that. Will aid me in meeting new people and I will become more socially aware, and less socially awkward. This is my chance to meet new people. Make new friends. See new places that I can not imagine right now. Feel pain I can not imagine. – To be honest, I can’t wait, bring it on, I say…

I have just sent some tweets out and contacted the press, now I am off to walk 40km before I go to sleep. Why? Training. Life’s a bitch. But life is what you make it and I am making it what I want. I am bringing my dream to life and letting the whole world dream with me.
