Immediately after former Speaker Newt Gingrich called President Obama “the food stamp President,” the Left went characteristically apoplectic. Regarding the President’s comment, James Clyburn, the third ranking Democrat and highest-ranking black Congressman likened it to Richard Nixon’s Southern Strategy. To author Walter Mosley, it was a “shout-out to racism”. “Divisive” and “inaccurate” said the NAACP.

For several weeks, former Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams has been actively recruited by local, county, state and federal leaders to run for Congress in Congressional District 25.

Michael Williams has devoted his entire career to public service. He has shown an unwavering commitment to leading the conservative movement and growing the Republican Party.

Congressional District 25, which includes 13 counties from Hays up to Tarrant County, is in need of a candidate who will fight for our freedoms, has demonstrated an ability to win and a commitment to protecting liberty. While serving on the Railroad Commission, Michael Williams represented the voters of Congressional District 25 and the people of Texas with distinction and honor.

Today, Michael Williams is answering the call from the GOP, the Tea Party, and conservatives all throughout CD 25 and will run for the Republican nomination for Texas Congressional District 25.

This has been a clear calling of service, borne organically from the grassroots and elected leaders from every county in CD 25.
