If those who want to focus on something so…shallow…as a human who momentarily loses her train of thought, then they deserve someone like Obama who, yet, reads from a teleprompter and still screws it up.

That’s the problem with our society.  Everyone is demanding perfection and never finding it.  Forget all the good someone is attempting to do.  As it’s said, “One screw-up wipes out all the atta-boys”.

Our media…and those who pay credence to this garbage…are so junior high.

I took notice about a couple of things.  First was his attempt to spin.  During his campaign, he said that he would end the war and bring our troops home.  So, in essence, he felt like he fulfilled a key campaign promise.  He said “it’s time to turn the page”.  He didn’t declare victory or mention the word “win” in his speech.  The speech sounded like he was trying to save face with his base while convince people that the U.S. completed the mission in Iraq.  Truly, I think he’s beginning to face reality about our economic situation and he’s scared that he’s losing support from his own camp.

Additionally, troops will remain in an “advisory” role.  Reminds me of the advisory role the military had in Vietnam prior to March 1965…before the U.S. was “officially” at war.  From what I heard, those “advisors”…military that were there to train and assist…actually fought like they were at war.  In other words, nothing changed except more troops were brought in and things escalated when the U.S. was officially at war.  (Let’s face it.  If we pull entirely out, Iraq will collapse.  After that, we’ll probably fight the same terrorism fight on our own turf.)

Then comes the blame game.  He blamed the out-of-control deficit on the last 10 years in Iraq.  (Eight of those years was when Bush was president.)  I suppose Obama hasn’t seen the latest CBO’s figures?

According to the CBO’s office, more money was spent on education and medicare during Bush than the war in Iraq.  If you look at the chart, you’ll see the massive spending occurs in ’09 and ’10, and it’s because of the stimulus act.  Obama, you may want to do your homework…correctly….before you go off blaming.

Fact is, the massive out-of-control deficit is Obama’s own fault.  He’s screwed up our economy, and now, he’s looking to blame it on the war effort (and Bush) and to save face.  That’s probably why, according to reports, his speech was awkward.  Nice try, Obama, but no cigar.

It’s my opinion that politicians and ex-politicians that are pushing this are wanting to capitalize from it.  They appeal to people’s sense of pride from doing something good because it makes them feel good that they did something “good”.  However, it’s not good…for any of us.

As pointed out in the video, CO2 emmissions that affect the atmosphere aren’t as bad as people think.  Additionally, Cap & Trade will result in higher energy bills for many of us since there are many coal fired electric plants in the U.S.  So, who’s profiting?  It becomes apparent who’s profiting…and who will pay.

Don’t get sucked into doing something “green” just because it makes you feel good about yourself.  Check it out, first.  Use some common sense.  Yes, we can do our part by recycling, but when it comes to things like Cap & Trade, all one needs to do is follow the money trail.

FOXNews.com – CBO: Eight Years of Iraq War Cost Less Than Stimulus Act.

The numbers don’t lie.  During the Bush years, more money was spent on education and Medicare than on the Iraq war.  More money was spent on Obama’s stimulus package in ’09 than all the money spent on the Iraq war during Bush.

At least, during Bush, REAL jobs existed because of the war effort, and LESS money was spent.  How many REAL jobs were created because of the stimulus package?

To all the liberals/progressives that want to blame Bush for the mess we’re in, today:  Quit your belly-aching and get your facts straight.  The federal deficit was in no worse shape at the end of Bush’s term than when Clinton left office.  Obama has sufficiently managed to run our economy and the federal deficit right off into the ditch.  And this is coming straight from the CBO.

Last night, Sherrie and I were watching a rerun of “Everybody Loves Raymond”.  It was the episode where Ray’s mother (Marie) crashed a tupperware party that Ray’s wife (Debra) gave.  Debra wife was really upset about it since Marie is overbearing, condescending, controlling, etc.  After eight years of being neighbors to Ray’s parents and dealing with Marie’s antics, Debra was at her wit’s end.

Debra wrote a letter to Marie to inform her that she (Debra) was fed up with Marie’s antics.  Debra pointed out everything that Marie had pulled over the last eight years.  Ray was opposed to the letter from the beginning, so he showed up at his parents house to intercept the letter before his mother had a chance to read it.  No such luck.  Ray’s dad got the letter and read it outloud in front of Ray, his brother, and Marie.

It was then it happened.  Ray apologized to his mother for Debra’s letter.  It was clear from the beginning that he was afraid of what would happen and how his mother would feel when she read the letter that his WIFE wrote.  (Ray and his brother are somewhat spineless when it comes to their mother.)

The scene was funny enough, but it made me think about Obama apologizing for America.  That scene put it all in perspective for me:  Obama is embarrassed for the actions that the U.S. has taken in past years, and apparently, he’s afraid of what these other countries thought about the U.S.  It’s like, he feels the need for us to “get in line” and “behave” when it comes to countries that we’ve basically told in the past to “not screw with us or else”.

It became real apparent where Obama’s loyalties lie.  Maybe I’m just real slow, and I’m sure the apologizing news is old, but I knew there was something really wrong for the apologizing business in the beginning.  It just became real apparent why after watching that episode of “Everybody Loves Raymond”.
