Since my last three posts have been about supporting local talent – why stop there? Let’s talk MUSIC now…

So, I’m going to showcase a couple of OZ bands that you may or may not like. For me, I think they rock and are worthy of our support in any which way you can. Attend a gig, purchase some music, merchandise, write a review for the band. Listen to alternative radio stations But most importantly just enjoy homegrown talent and support NEW talent.

I’ve nothing against eras gone by – music is awesome and should be enjoyed in all their eras, but we must nurture and support up and coming artists too – just as we do our authors. We have our favourite authors from yesteryear and adore them but we still keep in touch and support new talent. fresh voices.

Music is no different!

I’m a huge fan of Triple J Unearthed because it’s a great place for bands to put down tracks, get a bio up and score recording contracts. A chance to share their music with the community and advance their careers. Both bands I’m blogging about are part of the Triple J unearthed initiative which I’m extremely proud of Australia and the ABC for having such a great forum for up and coming artists.

So grab a coffee and allow yourself a ten minute break while you sit back and have a listen and then comment in the box below and let me know what you think.

Music is important for our souls – let it fill you up – with light, love and some dancing feet, singing in the shower or not, air guitar – I don’t care, but for the next ten minutes make some time for music – Enjoy ♥

Band Number One: Click to view Video: Full Tote Odds – What’s going down.

These guyz are from Adelaide, South Australia and have been in the music scene in one way or another for 15 years. For the past two years, they’ve been honing their craft (just like us writers) and are a serious and dedicated HIP HOP band. Read more about them here >>>

Holy mothers of …I forgot this one…and I just have to put it up coz this chick smashes it out of the water.

Indie band from Melbourne, Victoria and they’ve been rockin it out with their soul, bluesy, sixties beat since 2009. How did I forget these guys? There debut album is brilliant! Read more about them here >>>
