My mum bought a netbook a few months back but she wasn’t able to fully use it since she still preferred to use the desktop computer when at home. I think she tried out the netbook only a handful of times before coming here. Two or three days upon her arrival her though the netbook broke down. It just suddenly couldn’t recognize/find the hard drive. The bad thing though the manufacturer of the netbook doesn’t have any international support, all the support for that netbook is local (only in Manila) so we couldn’t bring it and have it checked here. My mom just decided to check out the latest laptop on offer here but ultimately ended up with a different brand netbook one with at least an international warranty albeit limited. So what will she do with her old one? Have the hard drive replaced (since it is still under warranty) when she gets back and just sell it after. Any takers?

With the impending arrival of siobe, we’re thinking of checking out the current tv stands and maybe changing the one in our room (the one we brought from Singapore) to one that can double as a dresser for siobe’s clothes and stuff. But we’re still deciding on whether to look for one now or just wait until we’ve moved to another flat next year before buying. Since it will be one less thing to move.

waiting and waiting

I’m now almost to my 40th week and we’re still waiting for siobe’s arrival. We were hoping before that I’ll have given birth by the last week of October but I guess siobe has her own schedule. Right now I feel tired most of the time and really find doing most of my normal routine a chore. Thank God for my mum who’s taken over the cooking. Right now dreaming of orlando vacations or maybe even someplace nearby helps ease the waiting. Can’t wait to see you baby girl!

beds

Last year when we moved to Sydney, we bought a sofa bed for the other room for my mom to use. The thing was it wasn’t as comfortable as we thought so we had to go and choose among the many mattresses that were on offer to put on top of the sofa bed. We managed to buy one that was inexpensive but comfy enough for guest use. I think on hindsight we should’ve just gone for a smaller sized bed for the other room or maybe even just an inflatable mattress since visitors are few and far between. That would’ve made much more use out of the second bedroom not to mention it’s easier to transfer when it comes to moving houses. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now.

In the process of going through our finances with siobe’s impending arrival. We recently went through some of the insurances that we have, with the investments (whatever few we have) divided in 3 countries, it is sometimes hard to keep up with everything. One thing we had to look at were the life insurance rates that are currently on the market. It also helps to assess whether the insurance plan that we got is still worth keeping or not.

pregnancy weight

With all the waiting we’re doing now for siobe’s arrival, it leaves you time to think of some other things like losing all the pregnancy weight after. Some are even suggesting using supplements like thermogenic fat burners to aid in increasing your metabolism to help burn the excess fats. I just hope that with or without the supplement that I will be able to lose all the weight I gained during this pregnancy. Good luck to me haha!

shoe hunting

With all the catalogues that we receive weekly in our mailbox, my mom has been looking through all the sales that they have. She’s particularly looking at the shoes, there are a lot of those on sale that look like dansko sandals but my mom prefers the ones which are slimmer. She was really happy when she saw something that she liked at one of the store catalogues that we’re going for $10 each so she immediately asked me to bring her to the mall to get a pair, good thing there was still one in her size.

I mentioned in a previous post about my mum’s birthday that even though it was her birthday it was E that received a present. Actually he got two, one was a space police lego that he has been wanting for a long time (leave it to mamita to buy it for him haha .. lucky for him that it was one of the cheap ones and that it was on sale) and this … a BEN 10 bike. Early Christmas and birthday gift for E. We asked him if he wanted the cars one (which was cheaper) but he really insisted on getting the Ben 10 bike. It’s timely too that it’s nearing summer when we can bring him to the park so he can get lots of practice riding the bike.

With a lot of companies promising to have the product that would solve your acne problems, it is really confusing to choose which one to try. I’ve not been one to really spend time and money on beauty regimens and products, but with an onset of adult acne in my case, I’ve no choice but to try different products to see which ones work. In my case though price is indeed a factor that’s why since living overseas I haven’t had the chance to try and visit a dermatologist. If only there was a one-step easy cure to acne.

car repairs

With the recent consecutive typhoons that hit the Philippines, among the physical damages were the cars that were submerged in the floods. After sorting out the damages and the things which can still be kept in homes, the next thing that needs to be done are the repairs for the cars. A lot of these would need car detailing, replacing auto accessories and the lot, that is if the car can still be repaired.
