2008:

WALL*E (Domestic Release Date: June 27th, 2008)
Pixar Animation Studios
Director/Screenwriter: Andrew Stanton
Producer: Jim Morris
Co-Producer: Lindsey Collins
Sound and Character Voice Designer: Ben Burtt
Composer: Thomas Newman, with an Original Song Performed by Peter
Gabriel Voice Talent: Fred Willard, Jeff Garlin, Sigourney Weaver, John
Ratzenberger, Kathy Najimy

What if mankind had to leave Earth and somebody forgot to turn off the
last robot?

Academy Award(R)-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton ("Finding
Nemo") and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar
Animation Studios transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for
a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named
WALL*E.

After hundreds of lonely years doing what he was built for, WALL*E
(short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new
purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek
search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL*E has inadvertently
stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to
report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that
it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL*E chases EVE across the galaxy
and sets into motion one of the most incredible comedy adventures ever
brought to the big screen.

Joining WALL*E on his fantastic journey across a universe of
never-before-imagined visions of the future is a hilarious cast of
characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning
misfit robots.

BOLT (Domestic Release Date: November 26th, 2008, Disney Digital 3-D(TM))
Walt Disney Animation Studios
Directors: Chris Williams, Byron Howard
Producer: Clark Spencer
Voice Talent: John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman
For super-dog Bolt (voiced by John Travolta), every day is filled with
adventure, danger and intrigue -- at least until the cameras stop rolling.
When the canine star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his
Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet
-- a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the
delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help
of two unlikely traveling companions -- a jaded, abandoned housecat named
Mittens (voiced by Susie Essman), and TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball
named Rhino -- Bolt discovers he doesn't need superpowers to be a hero.
Miley Cyrus ("Hannah Montana") brings her vocal talents to the role of
Penny, Bolt's human co-star on the television series.

TINKER BELL (Disney DVD and Blu-ray Release Date: October 28th, 2008)
DisneyToon Studios
Director: Bradley Raymond
Producer: Jeannine Roussel
Enter the magical world of fairies and meet the enchanting creatures of
Pixie Hollow, who "nurture nature" and bring about the change of the
seasons. Changing the colors of the leaves, moving a sunbeam to melt snow,
waking animals from their winter slumber, or giving a patch of sproutlings
a sprinkle of water are all within the realm of these seasonal specialists.
Tinker Bell thinks her fairy talent as a "tinker" isn't as special or
important as the other fairies' talents. But when Tink tries to change who
she is, she creates nothing but disaster! With encouragement from her
friends Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn and Iridessa, Tink learns the key to
solving her problems lies in her unique tinker abilities ... and discovers
that when she's true to herself, magical things can happen.

2009:

Carl Fredricksen
spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life
to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a
twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named
Russell) gives him a new lease on life. "Up" takes audiences on a thrilling
journey where the unlikely pair encounter wild terrain, unexpected villains
and jungle creatures.
Earlier, I wrote a little news diddy on the DVC News and Updates page about some great stuff going on at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. That got me to thinking that for you to appreciate that news like I do, you would have to already know how wonderful the Grand Californian is. I have stayed there on numerous occasions and have only been more enchanted each time. My husband and I have stayed as a couple and we have also shared it with our family. I have stayed there as a travel agent on business and as a tourist (a savvy tourist) simply for the magic of it all. I am always impressed with the grandeur and the warmth. I feel like I am being treated like royalty while in the comforts of my own home. The architectural design is enough to make you just stand in awe or possibly sit for hours in the lobby admiring all the details of the fabulous woodworking. The colors and design are warm and inviting. The location, however, is the best. The Grand Californian has it's own private entrance to Downtown Disney and Disney's California Adventure. It just doesn't get any better than that, believe me. The exit to Grizzly River Run in Disney's California Adventure Park is located directly across from the private entrance to the hotel. This makes it so easy to run upstairs to the room and change out of your wet clothes without sloshing and squeaking through the entire park. I love it! Although, being located in the heart of Disneyland, you would think it would be loud and crowded, but the minute you step through those private entrances to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, you experience serenity and relaxation. So, if you haven't already, try the Grand Californian on your next visit to Disneyland and then you will understand what I am so excited about on the DVC News and Updates page.

I do my blogging a little different than most. I am a little compulsive about organization (my mother can stop laughing now) so I not only categorize things, I sometimes assign pages to certain categories I feel will get a lot of extra attention. I am sure this solution probably works fabulously on a regular website, but on a blog, maybe not so much. You see, when I do a daily post, you can get an e-mail feed or an RSS feed or just drop by for a glance of whatever I talk about that day. When I update the Disney Movies page or the DVC News and Updates page, you get nothing! Some of my most important stuff is on those pages. You certainly do not want to miss out on the current attraction closings do you? Well, the only solution I see to this problem is that you, my readers, will just have to spend more time browsing my site for all the good stuff. There is just too much fun and information to have it all on the front page! So make sure you check out all the pages before you leave. (Since we are brand new here, I am adding new stuff every day!)

that dream can come true as one of the "money can't buy" experiences being
awarded in the 2008 Disney Dreams Giveaway!

The Disneyland® Dream
Suite, originally envisioned as a private, luxury apartment for Walt Disney, his
family, friends and honored guests, has now been realized in New Orleans Square,
overlooking the Rivers of America. Elegant and enchanting, each room in the
Disneyland® Dream Suite is themed to a different one of the Park's Lands
and is filled with artwork and other items that provided inspiration for Walt's
creation.

For those of you not already aware, Disney is granting wishes both big and small as part of the 2008 Year of a Million Dreams! (This celebration was such a success in 2007 that it is being continued).

You are going to be hearing a lot about our "Home Away From Home" in this blog because it is what makes our Disney vacations so magical. It is another name for The Disney Vacation Club . In short, it is Disney's version of a vacation timeshare program, but like I said, it is Disney's version and that makes it all the better.
During my early years of vacationing in Florida for the sole purpose of visiting Mickey, I did what all good tourists do, I budgeted! I stayed in cheap hotels, rented cheap cars or rode on free buses. I also packed food to take in the parks with me. Well, this kind of vacationing came to a complete halt about 11 years ago when I was introduced to the luxuries of The Disney Vacation Club. Now, I stay in a beautiful condo like unit with a full kitchen, master bedroom with a jacuzzi bath, and a porch to drink my morning coffee on. When I arrive I am greeted by Disney Cast Members that know me and a fully stocked fridge and pantry. Our "DVC Ownership" is at the resort known as Disney's Old Key West. We can actually stay at any of the Vacation Club Resorts, but we always choose to go back home to Old Key West. It really is our home away from home. I will be sharing more info on The Disney Vacation Club in future posts.
