Don’t forget that, by participating, you’ll get early access to the results and (anonymized) raw data from the responses. You’ll also go into the drawing for the iPod touch. Lastly, you can voluntarily get listed on the respondent’s page with a company profile and live link (I won’t be using the “nofollow” attribute), which will be up until next year’s survey.

If you’re not interested in the drawing or the “Google love,” then think of it as a way to help your fellow microISVers, since the survey results will help guide applied research for many years to come.

We’ll be opening the survey on August 1st and it will run for three weeks through August 22nd. The survey will help us gauge where microISV operators are struggling in their businesses. From there, we can launch new research efforts and initiatives. Our goal is to grow and improve microISV operations everywhere, and this survey is a key component.

As an incentive to participate, all respondents will be entered in a drawing for one of three prizes: an iPod touch, and iPod shuffle, and a 16GB Cruzer flash drive. In addition, all participants will gain access to the (anonymized) survey results. And, as if that’s not enough, respondents may choose to be listed on our Participant’s page, with a live link to their microISV’s website and a brief company profile.

July 10, 2010 – Update: Due to a hold-up with approvals from the Human Subject review board, we have delayed the launch of the survey until August 1st.

Why do we have two websites for one lab? Good question. Once I move on from Auburn University to my place of permanent employment, the “alliance” will become the umbrella group over two labs: one at Auburn and one at… well, I’m not sure yet.
