NOTE : Do not try this step in windows 7 Machine, Your computer will go to no boot mode.

Try to change the memory settings for installation, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.

3. On the BOOT.INI tab, click Advanced Options.

4. In the BOOT.INI Advanced Options dialog box, select the /MAXMEM= check box, and then change the setting to 256 (or lower if your computer has less RAM).

5. Click OK to close the BOOT.INI Advanced Options dialog box.

6. In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Apply.

7. Click OK to close the System Configuration Utility dialog box.

8. Click Restart to the following message:

You must restart your computer for some of the changes made by System Configuration to take effect.

9. After you restart your computer, install Office as a Complete Install.

10. After you install Microsoft Office, follow steps 1 through 8 to clear the /MAXMEM= check box.

NOTE : Make sure you revert the settings back once the installation is complete and reboot the machine.

Step 1: Check if any compatibility option is checked.

Click on Start >MY computer> Program Files> Microsoft Office> Office 12.
Locate Winword.
Right click on “Winword” and then click on Properties.

Click on “Compatibility” Tab.

Make sure none of the options are checked.
In case any option is checked, please uncheck and click on apply and OK.
Follow step 2 to 6 for all these applications “Excel”, “Outlook”, “Powerpnt”, “MSAccess”, “MSPub”.
Now check for the issue.

Step 2: Change the display settings.

Click on Start > Control Panel.
Click on Classic view on the left Pane.
Open “Accessibility Options”.
Click on “Display” Tab.
Under “High Contrast”, uncheck “Use High Contrast”.
Click on “Settings”

Under “Your current high contrast scheme is:” select “High Contrast Black (Large)”.
Click on OK and then Apply.

Based on my search on this specific issue, I found out that Google Desktop software may be conflict with Outlook and leads to this problem in some situations. Now, I'd like to suggest you check if Google Desktop was installed on your machine. If so, please remove it and see whether it helps.

Suggestion 1: Remove Google Desktop if it was installed:

Step 1: Check for the Signature

Select Mail Format tab > select Signature tab.

For a New Message it should show the Name of Signature

3. Switch to Add-Ins tab.

7. Restart Outlook to test the issue again.

3. In the Mail Setup dialog box, click the Show Profiles button.

4. On the General tab, click to select the Prompt for a profile to be used check box.

5. Click Add.

6. In the Profile Name box, type a descriptive name for the new profile, and then click OK.

7. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.

8. Select the appropriate server type for your new e-mail account, and then click Next.

9. Fill in the appropriate information as prompted to configure the account again, and then click Next.

10. Click OK.

11. Restart Outlook and select the new profile in the popup window

Step 1: Check the settings of Outlook Address Book .

Go to contacts > right click on Contacts folder ( Top left side) > Properties > click on Outlook Address Book tab > check the box “show this folder as an email Address Book”

Close and reopen Outlook and check , if this does not work

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.

IMPORTANT: The below steps will completely remove all Outlook profiles and data including profiles and data files that refer to other mail accounts therefore it will be important to perform a backup of the data before proceeding with the steps to be able to retrieve them at a later time if necessary.

For Win XP users:

Step 1: Backup Outlook Data:

1. Right click on your desktop then in the menu click on New > Folder

2. Give the new folder the name "OL Local Backup" then press ENTER

3. Repeat the above steps to create another backup folder called "OL Roaming Backup"

4. Click on Start > Run

5. Type the following command then click OK.

“%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook”

6. In the top menu click on the "Edit" button then click on "Select All"

7. Go back in the "Edit" button then click "CUT"

NOTE: We want to remove all the content of this folder therefore we do not want to use the Copy command.

7. Go back on your desktop and right click on the "OL Local Backup" folder created previously then left click on "Paste" from the Edit menu.

8. Repeat steps 4 to 7 to transfer the data from the roaming folder but this time you need to run the following command, cut and paste into the "OL Roaming Backup" folder of you desktop:

“%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook”

Once the transfer is complete, please confirm that all the data in is the backup folder on your desktop and that the Outlook folder is empty and proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Remove all profiles:

1. Click on Start > Control Panel

2. On the left hand side of the control panel, click on "Switch to Classic View"

3. In classic view, double click on the "Mail" icon

4. In the "Mail Setup" dialog box, click on the "Show Profiles" button.

5. Select a profile from the list then click on the "Remove" button and repeat this for all profiles listed.

6. Click OK.

Step 3: Remove the Outlook profile registry entry:

NOTE: The keys referring to your Outlook profiles may have been removed during the previous step. The following steps are simply to confirm if they are present and if so then delete them.

1. Click on Start > Run

2. Type REGEDIT then click OK. Click on "Continue" if prompt by the User Account Control

3. In the registry editor, navigate and expand the following registry key to view its sub folders:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

4. Right click on the first sub folder then click on Delete. Repeat for all "Profiles" sub folders.

5. Repeat the above registry steps for the following registry key where the "S-1-xxxxxx" refers to your Windows profile. This will vary from one computer to another:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-xxxxxx\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles

6. Close the registry editor.

Step 4: Create a new Outlook profile:

1. Launch Outlook

2. If prompt, give the new profile a name then click OK

3. In the new mail account Wizard check "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" then click on Next.

4. Select "Other" then from the list select "Microsoft Office Outlook Connector" and click Next.

5. Enter your Windows Live ID credentials and name then click on OK.

Let the synchronisation complete.

For Vista users:

Step 1: Backup Outlook Data:

Check for the multiple version
If you find multiple version, uninstall it from the Box where you are trying to install Office from Add & remove Programs in Windows XP machine and Programs and Features in windows vista and Windows 7 machine ( Start > Run > appwiz.cpl)
Check if you are able to open system information without any error ( Start > run > MSINFO32)
If you are not able to open MSINFO 32 (Error : cannot access the information)
Start > Run > Notepad

Copy and paste the following

When you save the note save the File as Wmireset.bat on the desktop.

Double click on Wmireset.bat, it will open command prompt windows ie you will see a DOS screen with a black background when prompted press "Y" on the keyboard. (This will repair Windows manage instrumentation files on your computer.

Delete Microsoft Help folder from

C:\ProgramData

C:\Users\Quick Solver\AppData\Local

Disable Print spooler from : Start > run > services.msc > look for Print spooler > Right Click on print spooler > Properties > Stop the print spooler services > Change the Start up type to Disable.

Restart the computer

Try installing Office.

If this does not fix the issue

Cancel the set up > try install Office > Type the Product key > Accept the Eula > Click on customize > Make One note note available > and install office

How to take back up of Microsoft Windows Mail Back up in Microsoft Windows Vista 32Bit and Windows 64 Bit

To backup and restore Windows Mail messages, make a copy of all the files in the directory that contains the message and database files. The location of the message store can be found via Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store Folder (the default is %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\) and the location is also specified as the "Store Root" value under the Windows Mail registry key below.

In addition to backing up those files, export these 3 registry keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail
This is the most important registry key and contains nearly all the settings and rules for Windows Mail.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities
This key is kept for legacy purposes, but no longer contains much information. The Identities feature of Outlook Express has been removed in Windows Mail.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\IAM
This key contains some information on the default accounts. In Outlook Express this key held all of the account information. In Windows Mail, most of the account information is now in .oeaccount files in the message store. See New Handling of Account Data on the Microsoft website. Note that when restoring a backed up copy, if Windows Vista has been reinstalled, the account passwords will need to be re-entered by the user manually.
Windows Mail now uses the Vista system wide Contacts instead of the address book. See Windows Contacts on the Microsoft website.
To restore a backed up copy of Windows Mail. Create a new directory that matches the previous directory and make sure it also matches the "Store Root" value listed under the Windows Mail registry key, and empty that directory of all files and subdirectories. Then copy the backed up files to that directory, making sure that the files are not read only. Run Regedit and delete the 3 registry keys listed above in the target partition, and then merge the backed up registry keys. Windows Mail can then be started and should be restored to the backed up state.

A similar method can be used to share the message store between bootable Vista partitions. The "Store Root" value in the registry can be equated so that the message store can be shared. Account passwords however will need to be entered manually between booting to each partition, unless one backs up and overwrites the .oeaccount files between each boot, due to the handling of the password information. When booting between partitions sharing the same message store, be mindful that many changes in settings are stored under the Windows Mail registry key, so changing such in one partition may not be reflected in the other OS partition unless the key is re-equated between each OS.
