The Killers in the web

2012-04-21T17:49:00.000-07:00

Hello, victims!
I've been searching some material of the band in the internet. I found some funny posts and good drawings that I would like to share with you some of them:

Hope you liked it :)

A learning experience

2012-03-22T05:48:00.000-07:00

Well, seems like the fourth studio album from The Killers might take a little while. After being 2 years apart, doing their own business, the members of the band are having a hard time to get in sync again. The bass player, Mark Stoermer told NME:

«We started doing it in pieces last May, but it's taken time to figure out what it means to be in a band again because we took so much time off. It might be out before summer, but there's no guarantees.»

About the new album, he adds:

«It's more rock, but we're trying something we haven't done before. It'll still sound like us.»

However, I got a good news for some Killers fans. The band is headlining the V Festival 2012. If you're from England or are planning to go there, don't miss their show on Saturday, 18th August!

While we can't hear the new album, I let you this U2 cover from the album «AHK-toong BAY-bi covered», an U2 tribute album to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the band's album «Achtung Baby». The Killers covered the song «Ultraviolet (light my way)».

Tranquilize

2012-03-05T08:04:00.003-08:00

Today I want to present you my interpretation of the song «Tranquilize», one of my favorites.

This song was released in 2007, from the album Sawdust, and it was written by Brandon Flowers. This song won Best Internationl Alternative/Indie Track at «NME's USA Awards».

Everytime I hear this song I can't help but think about Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It actually seems like Brandon and Lou are screaming it in my ears! So, let me show you why I think about that disorder.

I guess the beginning of the song it's about this guy who's married but wants to change his life. He would like to break out from his hometown and see the world. Sure, we could grab his wife and go walk in the park, but he craves more than that.

«Time it tells, living in my hometown, wedding bells, they begin easy

Live it down, baby don't talk that much, baby knows, but baby don't tease me

In the park we could go walking, drowned in the dark

Or we could go sailing on the sea»

He's sent to fight in a war. Although, he doesn't have sure about his motives. He did it because he and his wife needed the money or just because he wanted to see the world?

«Always here, always on time, close call, was it love or was it just easy?

Money talks when people need shoes and socks, steady boys, I'm thinking she needs me»

However, he soon finds out that is not that easy.

«I was just sipping on something sweet, I don't need political process»

And then, the PTSD symptoms.

«I got this feeling that they're gonna break down the door

I got this feeling that they're gonna come back for more

See I was thinking that I lost my mind, but it's been getting to me all this time

And it don't stop dragging me down»

He's now desperate and he has to do something. Indeed, he believes that he cannot be sitting and quiet waiting for an answer or someone to save him. He has to take action or else he'll be just one more numb mind in the world.

«Silently reflection turns my world to stone, patiently correction leaves us all alone

And sometimes I'm a travel man, but tonight this engine's failing»

He still remembers the first time he had to kill a man (and all the other times) and how that affected him. In fact, he use(d) drugs, drink or pills to cope with it. And now he's sorry because he could have chosen to go see the world with his wife. But he still believes that he can be saved by God.

«Acid rain, when Abel looked up at Cain, we began the weeping and wailing

A hurried high from pestilence pills and pride

It's a shame, we could have gone sailing

But heaven knows, heaven knows everything, tranquilize»

At last, there are some people encouraging him to have faith (not in God, since I think that 'lifeless book of hope' means the Bible) and believe in life, because if he does, then they can have hope again because all they've seen is death for a long time.

«Cause I don't care where you've been and I don't care what you've seen

We're the ones who still believe and we're looking for a page

In that lifeless book of hope, where a dream might help you cope

With the bushes and the bombs are tranquilized»

Fact: In live performances, Brandon changes the lyrics at the end from «with the bushes and the bombs are tranquilized» to «with the vampires and the bombs are tranquilized». Some say that 'bushes' refers to George W. Bush, but that's not confirmed. Maybe that's why Brandon change the lyrics, when they play it live, so that there's no confusion.

Murder Trilogy - part IV (and some other things)

2012-02-10T10:35:00.000-08:00

One of these days I stumble upon a really nice interview of Brandon. Craig McLean, from The Guardian, really knows how to show you a little bit of the real Brandon. I thought this interview was amazing and if you are a Killers fan you should read it. You'll learn about those old days when Keuning knew Brandon, for instance. And by the way, this was his first impression about the future vocalist:

«I thought he had weird shoes. He had the same shoes Oasis had - Clarks!»

Err... Okay.

Now, back to good things (kinda)... I wanted to let you know more about the «Murder Trilogy». Some of you (yes Fábio, I'm talking to you!) said something like 'wtf? Did Brandon just killed his girlfriend and then wrote 3 songs about it?!'. Well, obviously, no. It's true that Brandon, as the writer of most of the band's songs, is inspired by real life situations. Although, it does not mean that he lives all those situations. An example:

The song «Where is she?» was based on Jodi Jones, a Scottish girl whose boyfriend, Luke Mitchell, was found guilty of her murder. However, The Killers never recorded this song because Jodi's mother was really upset and didn't like that they made the song! Here's what Flowers told about the song:

«(...) it's written from the mother's point of view. When I heard the story, it just inspired me to write about it. I hope the mother won't mind...»

Oops.

So, to answer some of you about the «Murder Trilogy»: Brandon was inspired by the song «Sister, I'm a Poet», by Morrissey. Flowers said that he loved the 'romance of crime' in that song and that he studied it a lot.

Another thing about the «Murder Trilogy» is that many fans thought that «Mr. Brightside» was part of the trilogy, as a prequel. In fact, the song talks about a jealous boyfriend, however it's a trilogy, so it doesn't makes any sense.

So, that's it for today! I hope you like it!

The Killers facts

2012-01-28T08:58:00.000-08:00

Hello, dear readers!

Today I gather some fun facts about The Killers for you to enjoy.

So, let's read them!

The odds of Brandon being chosen as the lead singer were slim. Yes, Dave was not that excited to recruiting a Mormon with a baby face as a vocalist. Although, Brandon was reportedly as the most normal applicant! In fact, Dave said:

«He was the only person to reply to my ad who wasn't a complete freak. (...) All the others were very strange. I got one guy who had tattoos on his arms listing the dead people he had in his family.»

The name of the band already "existed". The idea of calling the band The Killers came after seeing the video «Crystal», by New Order. The bassist Mark recalls that moment:

«The video had this band who looked all hot, pretending to be New Order, but known as The Killers. We saw that name on the kick drum head and lifted it.»

And that kinda reminds me of this one.

The Genius Sex Poets. What's that, you may ask. Well, it was the first name of the band! No, really. You can confirm that in the video «Mr. Brightside». Just look at the bass drum.

By the way, watch this video with Brandon singing «Crystal» with New Order:

That's all I've got, for now. Did you like it? Hit the comments and let me know!

New album

2012-01-17T11:18:00.000-08:00

Good news! Brandon has spoke and confirmed that there will be a new The Killers album, although he couldn't say when it will be released. In an interview with with BBC Radio 1' Zane Lowe, he said:

«It's just whether it's the summertime or the wintertime. (...) I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we've done well and really hone in on that. We don't want to make Hot Fuss 2, or Sam's Town 2, or Day & Age 2. We'll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do.»

Also, according to drummer Ronnie, this new album will have a more guitar-heavy sound. He told, as well, that they are writing some great Killers songs.

So, we just have to wait. Until then, they gave us a treat, telling us the name of one song: "Battle Born". What do you think about that?

I let you a treat too. Since we all have to wait, let's hear this awesome version of "Human" by the EC Glass Orchestra:

Christmas Songs IV

2012-01-05T11:52:00.000-08:00

On December 1, 2009 «¡Happy Birthday Guadalupe!» was released.

It almost doesn't sound like a Christmas song. It has a Mexican ambiance and I think that this song transmits a really good feeling!

Also, you can hear The Killers saying some Spanish words! Aww!

Some say this song could be about Jesus Christ, since it's a Christmas song and it wishes Happy Birthday. Do you agree?

«Cumpleaños feliz!

Happy Birthday, Guadalupe!»

Here's the video, also 'very' Mexican, starring Luke Perry where he's a cowboy searching the desert for his long-lost love.

Christmas Songs III

2011-12-21T13:48:00.000-08:00

Here's the third Christmas song: «Joseph, better you than me». This one features Elton John and Neil Tennant.

It was released on December 16, 2008 and, like the other Christmas songs by the band, all proceeds benefit the charity campaign headed by Bono and Bobby Shriver.

This song is about Saint Joseph, the father of Jesus. The lyrics describe how hard it must been for him to be his father. In fact, Jesus was not his child and Joseph knew that. So why did he stay with Mary? According to ancient Jewish customs, he was supposed to leave her but then came the angel and that story we all know. Basically, better him than us to make that decision and stick to it, don't you think?

Here's some lyrics that illustrate these ideas:

«Are you bad at dealing with the fame, Joseph?

(...)

Are the rumors eating you alive, Joseph?

When the holy night is upon you, will you do what's right, the position is yours

(...)

Will your faith stand still or run away?

(...)

You're a maker, a creator, not just somebody's dad»

And here's the official video, that contains footage from «The Living Christ» series:

So, what do you think about the song and this subject? Hit the comments and let me know!

Christmas songs II

2011-12-10T18:42:00.001-08:00

«Don't shoot me Santa» it's my all time favorite Christmas song. It's so funny and doesn't sound at all like a Christmas song.

The video is really funny, as well.

There's not much to say about the lyrics, they're very explicit. Brandon has been a bad boy so Santa will punish him by not giving him any presents, right? Wrong! This is a badass Santa we're talking about!

You see, Brandon has been murdering people, so Santa thinks he should have the same treatment. Yes, Santa wants to kill Brandon (ohh, really? Nobody notices it by reading the title). Okay, okay, the song and video are really easy to understand, so let's continue.

It's my favorite song because it takes the foundation of the Santa Claus story - you know, he only brings present to the good kids - and take that to the extreme. Also, The Killers played again with the name of the band (because Brandon is a killer, in the song).

Enjoy the video, it's amusing. I love how Brandon can always depend on the other members of the band. And how cute are those sweaters? Also, you can see how the members of the band (and Santa) looked like when they were kids. And, the most important thing, this video has maracas, my favorite instrument!

«Santa's got a bullet in his gun, you know it

Santa's got a bullet in his gun»

Christmas songs I

2011-12-02T14:12:00.001-08:00

December is here!

I was waiting for it so I could show you The Killers Christmas songs. I will post all the Christmas songs they made over the years.
All of the songs were made for charity. In fact, all the proceeds from the songs went to AIDS charities as part of Bono's RED campaign! (How cool is that?)

As a matter of fact, I don't like Christmas and I really loathe Christmas songs. However, these guys can make some funny songs, that are quite different from what you hear every December day in every store!
Today, we'll start with the first one: «A Great Big Sled», released in 2006.

In this song you can hear those Christmas bells, which really gives the song a Christmas touch! Nevertheless, this isn't a "Merry Christmas song".

It begins with all the materialism in this time of the year. Actually, it seems that Christmas it's all about the gifts. This lyrics refers to the wrapped toys, I think.

«The robots awake to find out they've been taped down, wondering when they'll break these chains»

We can hear about the innocence that children have (about Christmas) and how that's all over when they grow up.

«Now the girls off the street are innocent and sweet (...) they got their makeup and dreams, wonderland sprinkled inside their heads»

In fact, the singer wish he could be a child again and have that innocence again.

«I wanna roll around like a kid in the snow, I wanna relearn what I already know

Just let me take a flight, dressed in red through the night on a great big sled

(...)

I hear the sound of bells, there's something on the roof

I wonder what this night will bring»

I think this song is about that temporary Christmas spirit that get to us in this time of the year. Indeed, it will soon disappear - not only after we unwrap the presents, but as we grow old as well.

«Now the boys are all grown up out there working their fingers to the bone

They go around chasing them girls on the weekend»

And we hear again how the singer wishes he was a innocent child; a cry for help, if you will.

«I've been racking my brain with thoughts of peace and love

how on Earth did we get so mixed up? I pray to God it don't last a long time»

At last, some people are intrigued about this final line:

«I wanna wish you Merry Christmas (can't do that)»

This probably is about what's politically correct to say: Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas (since it's a religious holiday). Whatever.

Here's the official video, where we can see clips of the band members participating in various holiday celebration (and a ginger Santa Claus, cool!).

What do you think? Did you like it or do you prefer those classical Christmas songs? Let me know!

Read my mind - cover

2011-11-19T12:14:00.001-08:00

Hello, victims!

Today I want to show you a cover that one of my favorite (portuguese) artists made.

His name is David Fonseca and the song is «Read my mind», by The Killers, which is one of my favorite songs! So, you can see how I like it!

David sings in english and The Killers are one of his musical influences.

I hope you like it. I know the style is very different and this is almost an acoustic version of the song. But it's a nice cover, I think.

Of course that it can't even be compared with the original, but I think he made a pretty good job with it!

If you're interested, you can find more about David here.

Did you like it? Let me know!

When You Were Young VS Mr. Brightside

2011-11-16T09:26:00.001-08:00

Recently, NME selected the 150 Best tracks of the past 15 years and «Mr. Brightside», by The Killers, was on the 5th place. Although, the drummer Ronnie does not agree that «Mr. Brightside» is the best music of the band. He prefer the track «When you were young», since he's more connected to it.

«I think I would have picked "When you were young". I have more of an intrinsic connection to that one. But I still love Mr. Brightside. That one's still fun to play live»

Ronnie admits that «Mr. Brightside» is a song that people can easily relate to.

«I think it's the vulnerability of what the song is saying. I think so many people have been there. It's almost 10 years old. I think when it was first introduced it had that vulnerability in the lyrics. I think people could connect with it and sink their teeth into it»

What do you think about that list? There's been some controversy. I will just say this: «Hey ya!» ahead of «Mr. Brightside»? Bitch, please!

Which one do you prefer? «When you were young» or «Mr. Brightside»? It's hard for me to decide, since I love both. Although, «Mr. Brightside» was the first The Killers song that caught my ear, so... I have to choose this one.

And I agree with Mr. Ronnie Vannucci that «Mr. Brightside» is easy for us to relate with the lyrics. I mean, all of us have been jealous at least one moment in our life, so we can be sympathetic, don't you think?

Tell me your thoughts about this!

Murder Trilogy - part III

2011-11-11T15:24:00.000-08:00

There's no perfect crime. It's now time to tell you what happened with this killer (half of it, at least) I've been talking about!
«Jenny was a friend of mine» is the last song of the Murder Trilogy and is told by the point of view of this guy who has been taken in for questioning about Jenny's murder.

The lyrics are pretty simple and clear. It's his statement to the police. One can assume that he's a suspect because he was the last person to see Jenny alive. First, we hear his version of the last moment they were together.

«We took a walk that night but it wasn't the same

We had a fight on the promenade out in the rain

She said she loved me but she had somewhere to go

She couldn't scream while I held her close, I swore I'd never let her go»

However this might look like a confession, it's not that clear to the police, I guess. In fact, it seems like a ex-boyfriend who's suffering and wanted one last chance. Also, he says «She said she loved me», the same words he tells us in «Midnight Show».

He then claims his innocence and pretend that he doesn't know why he's a suspect.

«Tell me what you wanna know (...)

There ain't no motive for this crimeJenny was a friend of mine»

I assume that he puts on his poker face and then says this:

«I know my rights, I've been here all day and it's time for me to go

So let me know if it's alright

I just can't take this, I swear I told you truth»

But the police doesn't buy it. As a matter of fact, they keep pressing him to tell the truth.

«And then you whisper in my ear 'I know what you're doing here'»

We can't know for sure if he's arrested. One can only wonder about that!

Did you know that sometimes, playing this song live, Brandon sings «she couldn't scream while I held her throat» instead of «she couldn't scream while I held her close». Well, that seems more like a confession to me!

What do you think? Do you like this song? What's your opinion about the Murder Trilogy? Let me know!

Murder Trilogy - part II

2011-11-09T08:02:00.000-08:00

Hello, dear readers!

Today I'll tell you about the second part of the Murder Trilogy: "Midnight Show" (how awesome is that live version?!).

One of my favorite songs and a underrated song, I think.

So, let's learn about the murder this jealous ex-boyfriend committed!

"Midnight Show" begins with the guy 'inviting' Jennifer for a ride, where the two can be alone. He clearly says that she should not tell anyone where they're going.

«I know what you want, I wanna take you to a midnight show tonight

If you can keep a secret, I got a blanket in the back seat of my mind

And a little place that sits beneath the sky»

The way he says «I know what you want» gives me a feeling that he's blaming her, that she deserves to die because of what she did, like she was asking for that! But that's just me.
Also, «a little place that sits beneath the sky» could mean that they were in an open place.

I think this guy starts to be conscious about what he's about to do and maybe that turns into some ambivalence. There's a voice (inside his head) that tells him to drive faster, wich I think it means that he can't stop now, he has to do it!

«Drive faster, boy!»

Then, we get the sense that he's kinda insane. Indeed, in this next lyrics he show some confusion and madness.

«I know there's a hope, there's to many people trying to make me cope

You got a real short skirt, I wanna look up, look up, look up»

It's kinda hard for this guy to kill this girl. In fact, he can't forget how nice it were when they were together. Although, he know they can't have that back, because of what she did (leaving him and seeing someone new).

«There's something in my head, somewhere in the back said

We were just a good thing, we were such a good thing»

This ambivalence gets stronger. As a matter of fact, he gives her the opportunity to end this madness, by being together again.

«Make it go away without a word, but promise you'll stay and fix this things I've hurt»

But she doesn't accept that, so he concentrates in what he's there to do, kill her.

«Make it go away!

Drive faster, boy!»

We get to the moment where he actually kills her. He agrees that he has to do it, since she's guilty of all his suffering.

«Crashing tide can't hide a guilty girl with jealous hearts that starts with blossom curls

I took my baby's breath beneath the chandelier of stars in atmosphere

And watch her disappear into the midnight show»

Actually, we can hear in the back he screams:

«She said she loved me»

This tells us that he really thinks she's guilty for making him believe in their love and then throw it all away, so she deserves to die.

There are references to the water. In fact, Brandon said that the murder had something to do with water, but it's not drowning. I guess he killed her by suffocating her and then threw her body into the sea. Also, I think that he means the moon when he says «beneath the chandelier».

A last, I love the end of this song. The violins... It's so dramatic, I can actually see Jenny falling into the water. Superb!

What do you think? Do you like this song? Let me know!

Murder Trilogy - part I

2011-11-07T12:33:00.000-08:00

I have told you about the Murder Trilogy. Today, I'll post about it!

The Murder Trilogy tells us a story about Jennifer and how her jealous boyfriend murdered her. We can hear this story through this 3 songs:

1. Leave the Bourbon on the shelf

2. Midnight Show

3. Jenny was a friend of a mine

Although, I'll post one song at a time 'cause I want to explain them and show you the most important lyrics.

So, let's start with the first part: "Leave the Bourbon on the shelf". This song was the last one of the trilogy being released and there was a lot of expectations about it. Happily, the fans loved it. (It's my favorite song of the trilogy, btw).

In the first part, the boy tell us about this girl - Jennifer - who was his girlfriend but left him.

«Oh Jennifer, you know I always tried, before you say goodbye»

Then, he says he'll drink the Bourbon alone because he cannot bear the pain of losing her.

«Leave the Bourbon on the shelf and I'll drink it by myself

And I love you endlessly, darling don't you see?

I'm not satisfied until I hold you tight»

This guy will try to find comfort in alcohol to ease his pain. He asks for another chance but she's not interested.

«Give me one more chance tonight and I swear I'll make it right
But you ain't got time for this and that wreckin' bell is ringing»

In fact, all of this drama is triggered by his jealousy. He can't get over the fact that Jennifer left him and is seeing someone else.

«Jennifer, tell me where I stand and who's that boy holding your hand»

This probably puts him in a terrible mood for revenge. As a matter of fact, he shows some hate towards her.

«And I never liked your hair or those people that you lie with»

So, that's it! I love this song and the idea of a Murder Trilogy by a band named The Killers!
What do you think? Do you like this song? Hit the comments and let me know!

Day & Age

2011-11-03T11:42:00.000-07:00

In November 2008 was released the third studio album by The Killers. It reached the number one in UK and Ireland!

Rolling Stone magazine elected the album cover as the "Best album cover of 2008" and their readers voted it as the "Album of the year"!

Brandon said that this album was «like looking at Sam's Town from Mars» and that they were inspired by Elton John, David Bowie and Lou Reed.

Here's what Brandon said about how different this album is from the others:

«It sits well with our other two albums. It's obviously a little more on the pop end of things. It's not quite as masculine as Sam's Town, but I like. (...) I don't think we've made our best album yet and that makes me happy, to know it's still out there.»

Here's the track list:

1. Losing Touch

2. Human

3. Spaceman

4. Joy Ride

5. A dustland fairytale

6. This is your life

7. I can't stay

8. Neon Tiger

9. The world we live in

10. Goodnight, travel well

11. A crippling blow

The singles are: "Human", "Spaceman", "The world we live in" and "A dustland fairytale".

My favorites are "Spaceman" and "A dustland fairytale". In fact, Day & Age it's quite different than what we are used to, so it doesn't contain my band's favorites songs.

What do you think? Did you like it? What's your favorites songs and video? Let me know!

Sawdust sold 82 000 copies in its first week, making a debut at number 12 on the US Billboard 200. This album was certified Platinum in USA and Ireland!

So, here's the track list:

1. Tranquilize (ft. Lou Reed)

2. Shadowplay (Joy Divison cover)

17. Mr. Brightside (Jacques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Remix)

The singles from Sawdust are "Shadowplay" and "Tranquilize".

Sawdust brought us the first part of the Murder Trilogy: "Leave the Bourbon on the shelf". This song explains why Jenny was murdered and it's awesome!

My favorites songs from Sawdust are "Tranquilize", "Shadowplay", "Leave the Bourbon on the shelf" and "Sweet talk". In fact, "Sweet talk" is my favorite The Killers song of all time! I think it's so pure and shows a different side of the band. Also, we can hear the vocal potencial in Brandon's voice.

Sam's Town

2011-10-31T22:09:00.000-07:00

In October 2, 2007, The Killers released their second album: Sam's Town.

«I wanted to create an album that captured, chronologically, everything important that got me to where I am today»

That's what Brandon said about Sam's Town!
In fact, this album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. As the first album, this one received Grammy nominations too.
However, the readers of Rolling Stone Magazine voted Sam's Town the "most underrated album of the decade"! Can you believe it?

So, here's the track list:
1. Sam's town
2. Enterlude
3. When you were young
4. Bling (confessions of a king)
5. For reasons unknown
6. Read my mind
7. Uncle Jonny
8. Bones
9. My list
10. This river is wild
11. Why do I keep counting
12. Exlitude
13. Where the white boys dance
14. All the pretty faces
15. Daddy's eyes

Similar to the first album, Brandon (co-)write all the lyrics.
The singles from Sam's Town are: "When you were young", "Bones", "Read my mind" and "For reasons unknown".

My personal favorites are "Read my mind", "For reasons unknown", "My list" and "All the pretty faces"! This was a really good album!

So, can you play "When you were young" in Guitar Hero?

Hot Fuss

2011-10-31T20:34:00.000-07:00

The first album of The Killers - Hot Fuss - was relesead on June 15, 2004 (my birthday, by the way) in the USA.

Hot Fuss reached the 7th place on the US Billboard 200 and it was ranked by the magazine Rolling Stone as the 43rd best album in the "100 Best album of the decade"!

Here's the track list:

1. Jenny was a friend of mine

2. Mr. Brightside

3. Smile like you mean it

4. Somebody told me

5. All these things that I've done

6. Andy, you're a star

7. On top

8. Change your mind

9. Believe me Natalie

10. Midnight show

11. Everything will be alright

12. Glamorous indie rock & roll

13. The ballad of Michael Valentine

14. Under the gun

All of the lyrics were written by Flowers alone or with other member(s) of the band.

The singles from Hot Fuss are "Somebody told me", "Mr. Brighside", "All these things that I've done" and "Smile like you mean it".

The tracks "Midnight show" and "Jenny was a friend of mine" are part of the Murder Trilogy (one of the reasons why I love them so much!), as the part two and three, respectively.

My favorites are "Mr. Brightside", "Midnight show" and "Glamorous indie rock & roll". It's just impossible to chose just one!

What about you? Is this your favorite The Killers album? What's your favorite song from Hot Fuss? Hit the comments and let me know!

The beginning

2011-10-31T18:42:00.000-07:00

Welcome to my blog! Take this journey with me and get to know The Killers.

Let's meet them, then!

So, we got Brandon Flowers, the vocalist. He was born in June 21, 1981, in Nevada, USA. When he was 8 years old, he and his family moved to Utah. Now, he's married and has three sons.

The guitarist Dave Keuning was born in March 28, 1976, in Iowa, USA. He dropped the Community College in 2000 and moved to Las Vegas. Dave has one son.

Next in line, we have Mark Stoermer, the bass player. Born in June 28, 1977, in Texas, USA. He moved to Las Vegas when he was 3 years old. Before being part of The Killers, his job was medical courier.

At last, the drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr., born in February 15, 1976 in Nevada, USA. He is married since 2003 and he and his wife have a dog, but no kids.

So, here's how The Killers got together:

Blush Response was the band in wich Brandon once was. However, in 2001, that was over for him. But he did not give up! During a concert of Oasis, Brandon decided he wanted to be part of a rock band again.

Luckly, Dave shared the same idea. As a matter of fact, Dave had posted an ad in a paper looking for partners. Brandon saw it and replied (thank God for that!). The two got together and started writing and making some demo songs.

In 2002, Ronnie and Mark joined them and then we got The Killers!
