So I decided to do a look for my husband. He’s from Baltimore, and a huge fan of the Baltimore Ravens. What’s funny is that the eyeshadow I ended up using was actually called Raven’s Prophecy, from Fyrinnae. That’s big coincidence, as right now the Raven’s are trying to make it to the Superbowl. Don’t tell my husband, but I don’t think they’re gonna make it! :-p (shhhhh) Anyways, I really ended up loving this look. I hope you do to, cuz I miss you guys!!

Hi guys! And Omedetou Gozaimasu (Happy New Year). Sorry for my prolonged absence. I keep forgetting to take pictures, and I just started a new job with Ulta :) I finally made it through the holidays, so hopefully you’ll see more of me. I missed you guys!

Anywho, I did a mani that I’m pretty darn proud of, so I thought I’d share it with you guys <3

Halloween Makeup

So I didn’t really do anything for Halloween. I had to be at work at 0600 Halloween day, and had to be in at the same time the next day. I wanted to wear drag makeup to work originally, but didn’t have the energy for that at 0430 while I was getting ready. I ended up doing a spinoff of a look that Nymphette, that was actually a spinoff from a Rihanna video.

I used Sugarpill’s Love +, Bulletproof, and Mac Fluidline in BlackTrack. This took all of 5 minutes to do. I didn’t catch a photo of it, but I paired it with a black lip. I worked with 4 guys that morning, and only ONE of them had the balls to ask me what was going on w/ my makeup, lol!! I had fun with it though.

Fyrinnae Halloween bliss!

Last week, I received the most wonderful package! Mr. F of Fyrinnae was gracious enough to gift me with their brand spankin’ new Halloween collection. These are SERIOUSLY some gorgeous colors. In my opinion, if you don’t pick up anything else, purchase Book of the Dead (the gold eyeshadow), and Sweetest Poison (the red lip lustre). Book of the Dead is the gold that I’ve always wanted. It stays perfectly gold on my NC42 skin. It doesn’t turn yellow, champagne, or look burned. It’s pure liquid gold, and it seems like it stays true on any skin tone. The way it looks on Grey is exactly the way it looks on me. Sweetest Coffin looks like a classic red with red sparkles in the tube. When I wear it though, it is the most perfect wearable red that leans slightly coral/orange. It’s absolutely beautiful, and compliments my skin tone well.

Here is the first look I did with the new collection. I used Book of the Dead, Purgatory, Dorian Grey, and Sweetest Poison. It turned out darker than I intended (well, I didn’t really have any intentions), and I loved it. Dark, morose, and sexy!

B3 – June Edition with Cosmeddicted!!

This month, I got a special treat! I got paired up with K of Cosmeddicted. She’s a very sweet person, and I’ve know her through the blogosphere for a while now. It was nice to interview a friend :) She really put a lot of thought into her answers as well, so please make sure you take time to learn about her!!

1.) I know I for one am doing the best I can to follow your road to

weight-loss. How do you find the motivation to stick to it, and how

do you handle when you slip up?

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I’m actually not doing so

well. I still struggle with portion control, but hey, if I was good

at this, I would already be down to my ideal weight. My motivation

for losing weight was very simple: I wanted to be able to wear normal

clothes. In Japan, most stores only sell one size. I wanted to enjoy

fashion! If I lived in the US, I might not have felt this way.

As for slipping up, I constantly remind myself that I want to change

how I feel about myself. I want to wear nice clothes. I want to stop

being “the fat girl”. I want to stop being constantly told that I’m

overweight.

I keep trying, and I’m far from being perfect. I started posting

about weight loss because I needed support, and I’m so thankful to

friends like you!

2.) I know that like me, you went through a huge move. Might I be

able to ask what prompted it? If that is too personal, how are you

enjoying the transition? I know there were some bumps initially.

My job moved me! The company I worked for asked me to move abroad to

support the business.

The transition is very interesting. There are a lot of headaches -

mainly the poor infrastructure. Mail doesn’t arrive properly, for

example, internet is slow/poor/unavailable. Food safety as well as

fraud is always an issue. My coworkers are amazing, so that makes

things a lot easier to manage, and they’ve done so much to help me

understand how things work here.

3.) What do you miss about Japan the most??

Just one????? Probably the two things I mentioned above: reliable

mail and fast internet. It’s really a headache that I cannot buy

things online from overseas and have them shipped to me. I think most

expats miss these two things, since it’s such a big change versus most

developed countries! There is a big Japanese community here, and

therefore a lot of good Japanese restaurants, so that gets me through

a lot. Oh, but I do miss super fresh sashimi!

4.) We’re all looking for that one item that makes our skin look near

perfect. What is your absolute most favorite beauty product of all

time?

Oh my, if you find a product that fits this description, please let me

know! For skin care, I’m still looking for the perfect product. If

there was a product that I could just slap on, go to sleep, and wake

up with baby-smooth skin, I would love it! I’m also still looking

for my perfect foundation – one with medium coverage, semi-matte

finish, controls oil, and lasts for 12 hours!

5.) What do you enjoy about your new location the most?

This is not specific to my new location, but I like the people who I

work with, and the friendships I’ve made. At my old workplace, I

worked with people who were 10-15 years older than me. I loved

working with them, but I had no social life. Here, my coworkers are

around my age, and I hang out with them on the weekends a lot – go to

lunch with them, hang out at their house, just chatting and catching

up. It is a nice change.

6.) SUPER random question….what is your most favorite food of all

time? Are you still eating it, now that you’re on a weight-loss

journey?

I don’t have JUST ONE favorite food, but I love REALLY fresh food.

Sashimi immediately comes to mind, but I also like really fresh

vegetables and fruit. I’m pretty adventurous about trying new fruit

and vegetables. I’ve even had raw beef and raw chicken – both

delicacies in Japan, and SUPER fresh, of course! I’ve stopped eating

all of these, not because of my weigh-loss, but because they simply

aren’t available here. I’m sure that eating more of these would

actually contribute to my weight loss!!

7.) Not a question, but tell us a fact that all of us may not know about you :)

I struggled for 4 days trying to think of an answer to this one!

Um… I store small things like bobby pins, q-tips and sponge tip

applicators in Altoid tins. Altoids are not commonly available in

Japan, so I like to pick up a few whenever I go to the US. Now if

only they could come up with some sugar free ones!

My IMATS LA 2011 experience

I did it! I finally made it to IMATS! As I’m sure most of you guys realize, IMATS has always been out of reach for me, since I lived in Okinawa. However I’m back in CA now (duh) and I’ve been planning to go since the day I set toe back here. All in all, I am so happy I made it! I set a limit for myself of $300, and I left any cards I had at home. I’ll tell you the pros and cons of the day, and a haul photo (and list) will be at the end :)

Pros

~I got to meet some wonderful and colorful people !!

Amy of Sugarpill Cosmetics and I. She is so damn cute!! Her booth and friends were colorful and cute perfection. I should have taken a photo of the booth itself, but I don’t like yanking out my camera every 3 seconds =/

I also got to meet Elessa of Pursebuzz. She was so sweet and genuine, and I really appreciated it. Actually, all of the ladies I met seemed genuine. She even had a “blogger’s corner” set up.

As I decided to finally leave the event (I got there at 10am when it started, and this was about 1:30ish), I was walking past the OCC booth and saw a unique hairstyle. It was Nymphette!! I was so happy I caught her as I was leaving. I was going to be very disappointed had I left without meeting her. Let me tell you, she is 100% just as hot in person. *noidonthaveagirlcrush*

I turned around and realized that she was with Sara, The Makeup Snob. She is TALL! I didn’t expect that, lol. She did have on heels, but I’m 5’8″. I was wearing flat shoes though, so maybe I’d of been just as tall as her? She was very sweet <3

~ I got pretty much every thing that I was wanting, plus more. I heard rumors that a lot of things are sold out by day 2 and that a lot of companies didn’t restock. The only booth that I visited that was close to sold out was INGLOT. I bought the last two 5-pan palettes they had. I only even bought 2 of them because they were sold out of the 10-pan palettes. They said that they were bringing more up from the store, but I didn’t want to wait around on the chance that I MIGHT get it.

~Valet parking. I didn’t expect that, and it was wonderful not to have to worry about my car. Nothing to make you feel like a princess than curbside service!

~ Everyone that I encountered was very polite, despite the crowds. Makeup unites! Lol

CONS

~INGLOT’s line was ridiculous. The wait just to get pen and paper was stupid. But then again, I should’ve already had my list ready when I went over there. It was just hard to know what I wanted, having never seen any of it before. I wish I had been able to grab something besides just eyeshadow, but I didn’t have the patience.

~ MAC. They had a poor representation of their products. From what I could see, it was eyeshadows, some pigments, the chromagraphic pencils, and other PRO stuff. They had NO blushes or lipsticks at all. They were the only booth I encountered that took credit cards only, they only had a 20% discount, and the line wrapped around the booth. After hearing that they only took CC’s, a few of us promptly left the line.

~ I forgot to go to CoverFX’s booth. Boo :(

~ The wait for Crown Brush. It was just too long. I wanted more brushes, but I wasn’t willing to do battle for them.

Anyways, here’s the haul!!

What I got:

~13 Miss Adoro lashes (they look like Red Cherry, but I hear they’re better?)

~ 2 – 5 pan freedom palettes from INGLOT (I’ll list colors later)

~ Too Faced LashGasm (just a replacement, I ran out)

~ 2 packs of Beauty Treats Makup Remover wipes

~ Midori, Bulletproof, and Darling from Sugarpill

~ Bobbi Brown Foundation in Golden (6) (I already knew my match), BB Gel Liner, and BB Rich Lip Color in Guava

~ 6 Crown Brushes (3 angled liners {one for nails}, 1 bent liner, mascara comb, and crease brush)

~Yaby freeform palette w/ 7 shadows and 3 blushes, names coming later

~ 3 e/s from Ben Nye (one as a highlighter for my face), and a contour and blush from Ben Nye

I think I made out like a fat rabbit! What do you guys think? Did any of you make it to IMATS this year? I’d love to hear about your experience!!

My crazy 80′s

Hi !! I have a super random post for you today/night. I’ve been really bad with factoring in time to actually take photos of my daily looks. Hopefully, since i have now actually realized this fact, it will get better. That’s usually how it works, right? Well anyways, I did this look about a week ago. I pulled inspiration from the shirt I was wearing. I wish I could show you what it looked like, but I forgot to take a picture of it and I can’t find it through google image search. Just think 80′s graphics and rainbow colors. Pretty aweseome, right?

I achieved this look using mostly Sugarpill. I tried to use BFTE $10 Pineapple for the yellow, and it wasn’t bright enough. I layered Fyrinnae’s Banana Mochi over it, and that still wasn’t yellow enough. Once I added a little Bifrost (also Fyrinnae) to it, it was perfect. I also used a little MAC Wondergrass to help blend Afterparty with the yellow. I threw Hepcat (MAC) into the crease, but I don’t like how it translated onto camera.

Sorry, I won’t be adding the full list of everything used onto here. It’s pretty much what I use every time :)
