Anyways, I want to start learning a lot more about ingredients that are in all my products, but mainly in hair.  I also want to play around with different curl products and various things to restore my hair.  What do I need to restore my hair from?  Bleaching it.  Yea, I’m stupid I know.  I REALLY wanted to try purple hair tho.  It’s actually still purply-reddish brown right now.  I used RAW color, and it never truly hit the color I wanted it to be.  What I’m at right now is close tho.  I would post pictures, but it’s changing soon anyways.  Hopefully this weekend.  Then it will be RED and purple! ^_^ Anyways, I digress.

I was browsing the Walgreens by my new apartment (oh yea, I moved again.  This time local tho.)  For some reason I ended up in the “ethnic” (aka CRAP) aisle, and this product caught my eye.  I don’t know why.

The ingredients really caught my eye, and made me think it was a sort of conditioner.  I liked what I saw, especially for the price of $9.99! (12oz jar)

Contains: de-ionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, Macadamia Ternifolia seed oil, Mangifera Indica (mango) seed butter*, Persea Gratissima (avocado) oil, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil*, Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract, silk protein, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) seed oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (carrot) seed oil, Caprylyl glycol, Sorbitol Esters, essential oil blend, Lonicera Caprifolium (honeysuckle) flower and Lonicera Japonica (Japanese honeysuckle) flower extract and Tocopherol (vitamin E).

*Denotes certified organic ingredients.

The instructions tell you to apply to damp or styled hair to enhance curls, control frizz, and to provide curl control.  Um, I don’t think so!  I have fine but THICK hair that is only semi-healthy.  I applied a tiny amount to a few curls to see the effect on styled hair.  Yea no.  It SMELLS heavy.  It’s not an offensive smell, but it is a greasy floral type of smell.  Also, your hair has got to be brillo-pad dry to actually be able to wear this on dry hair and not attract dirt or weigh it down.

That makes perfect sense.  After all, the ingredients are mainly oils.  GOOD oils, but oils none the less. I can’t imagine using this on my head and actually leaving the house.  I imagine that it would also be very skin-clogging if it happened to get onto your face (like if you wear your hair down a lot.)  It also contains silk proteins, which can be bad if you use it too much for the condition of your hair.  I’ll try it alone as a mask, and I’ll try it in combination with my Enjoy Mask (omg LOVE).  Let me know if you want me to post my after-thoughts on this product!

Do you guys miss me?  Do I need to really get back into my blogging?  I miss it and I miss you guys!

Anywho, I did a mani that I’m pretty darn proud of, so I thought I’d share it with you guys <3

I used Sugarpill’s Love +, Bulletproof, and Mac Fluidline in BlackTrack.  This took all of 5 minutes to do.  I didn’t catch a photo of it, but I paired it with a black lip.  I worked with 4 guys that morning, and only ONE of them had the balls to ask me what was going on w/ my makeup, lol!!  I had fun with it though.

This week, I actually have a giveaway for you!!  Geek Chick Cosmetics is responsible for this prize package.  It is for a pink Gift set: 5 eyeshadows, 1 lip balm, 1 lipstick.  Now I’ve never ordered anything from Geek Chick, but I want to!  I’ve never heard anything but rave reviews, and I have a growing wish list.

I’m sorry, but I don’t have a pink look for you today.  I do have an “I <3 Boobies” bracelet though!  (proceeds also to breast cancer research.)  It glows in the dark, too!  ^_^

Here is the first look I did with the new collection.  I used Book of the Dead, Purgatory, Dorian Grey, and  Sweetest Poison.  It turned out darker than I intended (well, I didn’t really have any intentions), and I loved it.  Dark, morose, and sexy!

What do you think?  Which colors do you want to pick up?  ( I promise, they are well worth the wait!)

I did it!  I finally made it to IMATS!  As I’m sure most of you guys realize, IMATS has always been out of reach for me, since I lived in Okinawa.  However I’m back in CA now (duh) and I’ve been planning to go since the day I set toe back here.  All in all, I am so happy I made it!  I set a limit for myself of $300, and I left any cards I had at home.  I’ll tell you the pros and cons of the day, and a haul photo (and list) will be at the end :)

Pros

~I got to meet  some wonderful and colorful people !!

Amy of Sugarpill Cosmetics and I.   She is so damn cute!!  Her booth and friends were colorful and cute perfection.  I should have taken a photo of the booth itself, but I don’t like yanking out my camera every 3 seconds =/

I also got to meet Elessa of Pursebuzz.  She was so sweet and genuine, and I really appreciated it.  Actually, all of the ladies I met seemed genuine.  She even had a “blogger’s corner” set up.

As I decided to finally leave the event (I got there at 10am when it started, and this was about 1:30ish), I was walking past the OCC booth and saw a unique hairstyle.  It was Nymphette!!  I was so happy I caught her as I was leaving.  I was going to be very disappointed had I left without meeting her.  Let me tell you, she is 100% just as hot in person.   *noidonthaveagirlcrush*

I turned around and realized that she was with Sara, The Makeup Snob.  She is TALL!  I didn’t expect that, lol.  She did have on heels, but I’m 5’8″.  I was wearing flat shoes though, so maybe I’d of been just as tall as her?  She was very sweet <3

~ I got pretty much every thing that I was wanting, plus more.  I heard rumors that a lot of things are sold out by day 2 and that a lot of companies didn’t restock. The only booth that I visited that was close to sold out was INGLOT.  I bought the last two 5-pan palettes they had.  I only even bought 2 of them because they were sold out of the 10-pan palettes.  They said that they were bringing more up from the store, but I didn’t want to wait around on the chance that I MIGHT get it.

~Valet parking.  I didn’t expect that, and it was wonderful not to have to worry about my car.  Nothing to make you feel like a princess than curbside service!

~ Everyone that I encountered was very polite, despite the crowds.  Makeup unites!  Lol

CONS

~INGLOT’s line was ridiculous.  The wait just to get pen and paper was stupid.  But then again, I should’ve already had my list ready when I went over there.  It was just hard to know what I wanted, having never seen any of it before.  I wish I had been able to grab something besides just eyeshadow, but I didn’t have the patience.

~ MAC.  They had a poor representation of their products.  From what I could see, it was eyeshadows, some pigments, the chromagraphic pencils, and other PRO stuff.  They had NO blushes or lipsticks at all.  They were the only booth I encountered that took credit cards only, they only had a 20% discount, and the line wrapped around the booth.   After hearing that they only took CC’s, a few of us promptly left the line.

~ I forgot to go to CoverFX’s booth.  Boo :(

~ The wait for Crown Brush.  It was just too long.  I wanted more brushes, but I wasn’t willing to do battle for them.
