I’ve decided I’m only ever going to Costco now if I have 2 babies with me ;)

Also, I spied my one true love there, in kitchen appliance form *sigh*

Handmade Fashion Market Wrap-up

I attended the inaugural Fashion Only Handmade Market event last weekend, as a stallholder with my jewellery and accessories, it was really great! This time I was inside the main hall (as it is a slightly smaller market than the regular big Handmade Market) on a corner stall, and I had a lot of fun setting up my tables. I’m starting to get used to the mad rushed panic of setting up, and I have a system of packing away a previous market that allows me to unpack and setup fairly quickly. Now if only I could get out the door half an hour earlier like I always plan to and I’d have heaps of time!

I spent a lot of time working working working glueing glueing glueing in the week leading up to the market so I would have lots on offer for everyone.

As always, I had lots of help all day, and lots of visitors. So a big thank you to my awesome husband and baby for being amazing (Raf had a little sleep on the floor before going home with daddy), and JA’s mom for staying with me at the stall all day, allowing for tea and loo breaks! And thank you to everyone who came by and said hello! =)

Starting from the next market (June Canberra long weekend) I’m going to have a market girl, yay! JA’s sister Katie has a really strong retail and customer service background, so she is going to be manning the stall for a few hours for me during the day, I hope you can all make her feel as loved as you make me feel each market day!

So the count-down is now on for the June market, it’s going to be my biggest market ever, I am going to have SO. MUCH. STOCK. for you all, as well as lots of specials, a giveaway and some new surprises! So I hope to see you there =)

I love weddings

Please friends, get married and invite me! I love love love weddings =)

A few weekends ago we went to the beautiful wedding of Jen and Dave, and honestly, it really was lovely. Everything said was heartfelt, every word was thoughtful. And there was a super cute flower girl. Nawwwww. (You may remember Heidi from a couple of previous posts!)

I’d really like to plan another wedding. So, anyone reading this, who is getting married but not feeling the “Wedding Organisation” buzz, give me a call ;)

And who wouldn’t want to rock up to a wedding with these guys as your date? So handsome! ❤
The little guy and I were still a bit sick so we were all home in bed by 11.30pm x

6 Months Old

Rafael is 6 months old this month. We’re loving every minute of it ;)

This month Raf has started reaching out for things (like our faces and his Kitty and Doggies ♥), sitting up for longer periods of time, he is hammering the “solid” food (more like mushy foods), lots of tummy time and some rolling but no big moves towards crawling yet (phew!).

He gave us his first real laughs on April 1st, no fooling ;) It was the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

He can hold himself in a standing position for short amounts of time, he looks like a little boy when he does!

This past weekend he graduated from Aqua Bubbas, and is moving up to Perri Winkles next term XD He got a little certificate for it too, so silly but it makes my heart swell!

He’s also geting quite good at holding the bottle when I give him one, and today he accidentally did his first drawing! haha I’m going to frame it.

My Vegetable Garden – Part 1

Today I *finally* got the structure started for our Vege Garden! I feel a big sense of achievement here, because the area has been sitting there getting more jungley by the day, for about 2 years now… And today I managed to weed it, move a wood sleeper to create the fourth wall base, put 3 star pickets on the correct place, and placed the wooden garden edging stuff around to create the walls.

I now need some more metal stakes to secure the walls in place, some hessian for the sides, and then, over the next few months, I will be building the perfect garden bed for planting things such as tomatos, zucchinis and beans =)

Open Garden & Inspiration

Mum and I visited a lovely open garden inCanberra on the weekend. It was owned by an older retired couple, who have lived there for 43 years! So they have about 40 years on me and my garden, but I was still so envious. The style of their garden was not totally on par with mine, but I’ve taken away several things to use as inspiration for when I can finally get outside and get things happening in my own garden.
I want slate (?) stepping stones with gravel and mondo grass outside the back door to the left, leading up to the vegetable garden.
I love the look of small trees in big pots! I think this would be a great way to continue the japanese maple theme from the front yard into the back, as a dividing marker between the future undercover pergola and the grassed area.
The use of mirrors on garden cabinets (instead of a cluttered shed) will reflect greenery and add depth, not sure where though…
Our front landing is quite a big area, and ferns would grow quite well there I think (sheltered).
Again, love the mondo grass here. I am also planning on putting a large pot to make a small water feature out the front, with water lilies and other water plants.
I loved the extra touches in the garden, and we could definitely have some hanging plants or a fernery type area under the future pergola, to bring some greenery to the space.
The solid garden edging definitely made the garden look really neat and tidy, where as our front garden looks a bit bedraggled with it’s hodge-podge edging, and it’s hard to whipper-snipper the grass properly. Something like this (in this colour to match the future new colourbond roof) would work really well along the front.
I really like this mass of succulents!! I’m not sure where we could have something similar, I’d have to research a bit more the ideal conditions for this type of succulent.
Somewhere to sit! Always important ;)
I’d like to plant more medium sized bushes along the front garden, with smaller flowering plants in front of them. Hopefully I can find a range of plants that flower at different times of the year so there’s a bit of colour all year round.

My plans are many and varied, I wish it could all happen in the blink of an eye!

Living Room Design Reveal {before & after}

My living room was finally tidy enough to take pictures of for the reveal!

We got rid of our 4 seater chaise lounge and 2 seater blue couch, and replaced them with a beautiful chocolate brown leather 3 seater lounge. We painted the walls white (from cream) and got new white double roller blinds (from heavy pink drapes and massive matching pink pelmets) installed, and I love love love the new look. It is so much lighter and brighter, bigger and more spacious. I had to really resist buying more furniture to fill the space (I had my eye on some ikea bookcases for under one of the windows), but I’m so glad I restrained myself, as I love the empty floor space. It’s de-cluttering on a large scale!
These photos make me realise the floor is far too dark, but I did already know that when we get the floating floors I do want them quite a bit lighter, more a cherry oak (? I am totally making that name up).

Baby Swimming Lessons

The only bad thing about being down the coast on holiday for a week is missing Raf’s swimming lesson on Saturday morning, it is so cute and so much fun. He is so chilled about it too, just checking out all the other babies instead of paying any attention to us splashing water on his face or dunking him under. Funny boy!

5 Months Old

Reading over the “4 Months Old” post it seems I am saying the same things here one month later, but really Rafa is just advancing everyday, even if only slightly, and it’s such a fun thing to watch him grow and learn and develop his personality.

He is still doing his crunches, he is very close now to sitting up unassisted, and often tells us when he is lying down that he would rather be sitting up! Our baby is a very relaxed little guy, he likes taking everything in around him, watching people, looking out the window and watching the world go by. He is also a very happy bubba, hardly crying (except when over-tired!) at all, and always happy to be held by anyone.

He loves time with daddy! He can be so focused sometimes, really inspecting something up close, or holding a toy in front of him and just checking it out, turning it over and over in his hands. He can also be a crazy boy though – he has started to whip his right arm up and down, whether it’s empty or holding something, sometimes whacking himself in the forehead! And his gorgeous smiles are just to die for, he is so sweet and super cute.

We love our boy! XD
