Assuming Websphere 5.x which is J2EE 1.3:

1. Define a Generic JMS Provider
   • Set the classpath to list all necessary ActiveMQ jars under ${WAS_INSTALL_ROOT}/lib/ext (make sure to actually copy the jars there)
   • Set the initial context factory to org.activemq.jndi.ActiveMQWASInitialContextFactory
   • Set the provider URL to the broker’s URL, e.g. “reliable:tcp://host:port”
2. Configure a JMS Connection Factory for the newly defined provider, e.g. jms/QueueConnectionFactory and/or jms/TopicConnectionFactory
3. Configure JMS destinations as needed, e.g. “MyQueue” and “MyTopic” as external JNDI namesSet custom properties of the provider to map external JNDI names as follows:
   • java.naming.connectionFactoryNames = ConnectionFactory (whatever you set as external JNDI name for the connection factory in step 2)
   • java.naming.queue.MyQueue = MyQueue
   • java.naming.topic.MyTopic = MyTopic
4. Create a Message Listener Port for message-driven beans:
   • Set the connection factory JNDI, e.g. “jms/QueueConnectionFactory”
   • Set the destination JNDI, e.g. “jms/MyQueue”
5. Restart WAS

Install Netatalk with SSL Support

$ sudo aptitude update
$ mkdir -p ~/src/netatalk

$ sudo aptitude install devscripts cracklib2-dev dpkg-dev libssl-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev
$ apt-get source netatalk
$ sudo apt-get build-dep netatalk

Other things I did to get it working:

• defaults write com.apple.AppleShareClient afp_cleartext_allow -bool true
• Renamed my Mac to “MacBookPro” removing all spaces and special charaters.
• Turn TimeMachine Off
• defaults write com.apple.systempreferences TMShowUnsupportedNetworkVolumes 1
• Create the sparebundle:
  • hdiutil create -size 140g -fs HFS+J -volname “Backup of MacBookPro” MacBookPro_0023df82da1c.sparsebundle
• Copy the sparse bundle to the networked drive.
• Turn TimeMachine On by using “Choose Disk” and selecting the desired network share

Question of the month — How is it possible for two people that really appreciate a good night’s rest to produce a little human that can’t seem to want to sleep – ever!   Jake has been more and more difficult to get to sleep for naps, and for the night.  Hopefully its just a stage, and he will become a good sleeper soon. 

Jake aslo knows what he wants, and he will do everything in his power to get it.  He is very strong, so sometimes it is difficult to hold him back from his destination.  His favorites are an office chair that we roll him around the house in, wii rock band drum set, and drum sticks, an acoustic guitar that I recently started hiding just cause it was getting difficult to play with the guitar all day.  Oh, and there is a laptop that we give Jake to mess with, and he loves it!
