Loving this weather we're having right now! Got to spend it with Michelle and Ryan down at Bothell Landing which is right by where I grew up so it was awesome to see how it's changed. Such a rad couple! Both are teachers in grade school so we had to get a shot in front of the old red schoolhouse! Can't wait to shoot their wedding this summer!

You want to talk about an inspirational high school senior, this is your guy! A little over a year ago Seth was in a longboarding accident and suffered a serious head injury that almost took his life. Through a lot of prayer and support from thousands of people Seth continues to amaze his doctors with how far he has come. He is graduating this June from Seattle Christian and will be attending SPU in the fall. Congrats Seth!

Recently I was told of an opportunity in the very near future (beginning of June) to take a trip to Rwanda to help an organization with photography and video. I have been doing a lot of prayer recently about how I can use my gift of photography to give back again. When a friend mentioned an opportunity to help ERM Rwanda (http://www.ermrwanda.org/) which helps widows and orphans affected by the genocide in 1994 I was instantaneously interested.

As many of you know I went to Liberia in 2012 to do a similar photography project and was there for 3 weeks. I was able to experience amazing things that God was doing with the people and the churches in Liberia and the rebuilding from their civil war. Unfortunately this organization in Rwanda is not able to help me get to Rwanda and is asking me to raise $3,000 for an approximate 3 week trip. That's a lot of money to raise this quickly I understand. The trip would initially be me going to all of the different projects that they are currently involved in and also 1 week with a Kings High School group that is there to serve.

I absolutely love photographing weddings and all of the joy from the day but there is something exciting about a proposal. The nervousness from the guy and the shear joy and excitement from the girl as he gets down on one knee to pop the question. Jeff surprised Alda with not only a proposal but dancing lessons! I'm not sure what Jeff was more nervous about before Alda showed up, the proposal or the dance lessons! Congrats to you two!

I always love hanging out with the Downey family and this time wasn't any different! Life has been a blur for them over the last year with their identical twin girls but they made it....their first birthday. I got a chance to spend the morning with them in their daily routine....take care of one child....and then the other. One diaper and then the other. Craig explained it perfectly when I asked how they did it, "it's our normal....we don't know anything different." After getting ready for the day we headed out for some more family fun under the West Seattle bridge!

Seattle Sounders FC vs Montreal Impact // MLS // CenturyLink Field

The start of the Seattle Sounders FC season wasn't what everyone had hoped for but I still had a great time photographing it! The Sounders lost to the Montreal Impact 1-0. Everytime I get an opportunity to photograph a Sounders match I feel extremely lucky and don't take it for granted. Because I shoot for fun I'm always trying to push my photography.

A look back at 2012

As another year comes to a close and I've had some downtime to reflect; I can honestly say that this year has been a blast! I am truly blessed to have met and worked with so many amazing people. Thank you for trusting me with your special moments and referring my business to your friends and family!

Everytime I sit down to edit a photoshoot I constantly find myself smiling to the point of my face hurting.....that's how much I enjoy this so called "job". I find so much joy in capturing life for each of you! Over this last year my photography has taken me many places I never thought it would, including shooting several Seattle Sounders matches, a UW Husky football game and a trip to Liberia to help a community in need.

This year was amazing, so I can't even begin to think about what 2013 will bring! Below is a look back at my favorite photos from the year. As you can tell I had a tough time narrowing them down! A Day in the Life of a Fashion Forward Family

I was privileged to spend last Saturday with an amazing family! As you will see they are colorful on both the outside and inside! Once I stepped into their house I could feel the energy from their kids. Running around the house in their underwear with plenty of laughter, getting their hair done or just simply getting dressed, they showed joy in living the everyday.

I love catching a glimpse of a family just being themselves. Everything about it is so real. There are plenty of opportunities for the mantle photos but it's the moments that happen naturally that intrigue me most as a photographer.

I think after you see these photo you will agree...everyday is an adventure with this family!

Seattle Sounders FC vs LA Galaxy - MLS Playoff - Seattle Sports Photography

It's always fun to shoot a Seattle Sounders FC match but it's even more fun when it's playoff time! The Sounders were down three goals to none heading into the second leg of their playoff matchup with LA Galaxy. The Sounders were up 2-0 in the 57th minute however a goal by the Galaxy in the 68th minute took the wind out of their sails. The Sounders won this match against the LA Galaxy but lost the aggregate 4-2. The LA Galaxy are the 2012 Western Conference Champions and will face the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup. Congrats to the Seattle Sounders for a great season!

Makenna - Class of 2013 - Arboretum Senior Portrait

Makenna is a senior this year at Seattle Christian. She told me her favorite season is fall and actually welcomed the rain after our long drought here in Seattle. The tough part about shooting in the fall is the weather but we lucked out with a window of no rain for Makenna's senior photos at the UW arboretum. As we drove away....it started raining....nice!
