We use it quite extensively in Renegade Training and it has tremendous benefits. It is a full-body exercise and will increase hip and shoulder flexibility, abdominal and lower back strength, leg strength, core stability, etc. The list goes on! It has unbelievable value to the development of the athlete as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also use the overhead squat as an assessment tool for balanced development and for evaluating new clients and athletes. It quickly exposes many weaknesses in one's training and development.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In an era where the latest piece of shiny equipment is coveted, all one needs to begin performing the overhead squat is a simple broomstick or PVC pipe.
